Hope no one minds if I have a good old moan:o.

I'm getting really fed up with health problems. Having had various visits to the surgery in past month for antibiotics etc, blood test and chest Xray I feel I am picking up. Have an appointment this afternoon with GP so hopefully he'll say all is well there. BUT, this morning I've had a letter asking me to come back next week for a retest following last week's routine mammogram. I know it might be something and nothing but I just want to get back to normal not yet more tests and worry.

Thanks for listening. It helps to offload and although DH is aware I'd rather not talk about it in RL.

On a brighter note, I managed very well at dancing last night. We probably did 10 dances, all new to me so had to concentrate mentally as well as the physical effort. I'll probably have stiff muscles tomorrow but at least I found some energy from somewhere.:)

You really are filling your time off work brilliantly sugarbaby. It's amazing what events are going on if you look into it.

Will make an effort when I go to GP later, probably smart casual and some light make up. At least I can look fab even if I don't feel it!:(

Ah Maman - so sorry to hear you are still feeling under par. When do you have your retest for the mamogram. Hope you don't have too long to wait . It's the waiting and worry that's the worst.

I know I speak for the others when I say we will be thinking of you. In the meantime sending you hugs. Take care of youself.

I went to Physio this morning for another realignment session. Feel a bit delicate and rather chilly so have dug out one of my big winter cardigans.

I have to go out this afternoon, would rather notTBH so just having a snack and then will have a lie down for an hour.

Maman feel free to vent your feelings on here. It is a safe place to be very honest and it is better for you to get your feelings about your health issues out. It really is good to talk. Big hug for you. :)

Jaci good for you in finding the handbag you wanted for your son's wedding :)

I had a completely relaxing and lazy day with my children yesterday. I did make dinner from scratch yesterday evening, which I do not do often enough. My weight is going the wrong way at the moment, but I am not worrying too much about it, as I am on holiday and my biggest priority is to make the best of my holiday and I am not getting enough exercise at the moment. I will be returning to work on the 15th August and then I will be eating a lot more healthier and snacking on fruit rather than on fatty and/or sugary snacks.

I am going to visit my 2 sister's in Birmingham this weekend. The 3 of us are going to see Beres Hammond, Carol Thompson and Janet Kay on Saturday evening and I am really looking forward to it. They are all so talented that when I have seen them live before, they are actually able to sing even better live than on their CD's. :D

    Hello ladies:)
Just popped in for a sneaky read to see how you're all doing and saw your post maman. Sorry you're going through a stressful time. Thinking of you and sending virtual hugs x

ETA: Sugarbaby is that Janet Kay as in "Silly games"?
Used to love that song - me and my school friends used to (try to!) sing it all the time:)

    Thanks for listening everyone.:)

ETA: thanks for calling in ellsbel.:)

The step 2 mammogram is on Tuesday LL. I saw the GP yesterday and he thinks the chest infection is on its way out but will repeat chest x ray in September to be on the safe side. I'm just trying to park it all at the back of my mind and get on with life. He did say that there was no way I could have danced all Monday evening without getting breathless if there was anything seriously wrong with my lungs!:rotfl:End of medical bulletin.

It can be an effort to cook from scratch every day sugarbaby. It's my aim but I don't always achieve it. Recently we've had a lot of straight from freezer meals. I find batch cooking some HM ready meals and things like fish invaluable. I think it's mandatory;) to put on a few pounds on holiday but once you get back into a normal routine of eating and the exercise that goes with your work you'll start losing again.

Good to hear you got yourself a handbag jacci. I was reading an article called 'efficiency chic' this morning. Briefly it's about putting an outfit together than you can look good in and then forget about because it's simple and comfortable. It was roughly based on what the journalist thought Teresa May should be doing. I thought of you as a jumpsuit was mentioned as a good choice and the fact you've been trying it on so that you feel comfortable on the day will help. Hope it's just as easy finding the earrings.:)

It's a dry day here and sun is promised for later. Hope it's good wherever you are.:)

Ellsbel yes it is that Janet Kay. I have seen here live and up close in a much more intimate venue before, where she was close enough for me to reach out and touch her. :D

Maman I very rarely bother to cook from scratch, not because I am not a competent cook, but because I do not want to make the time to do so on a regular basis. I have a very small fridge freezer, so do not have the space to batch cook and freeze meals. I am enjoying eating what I like rather than what is good for my body, but it will have to come to an end soon. ;)

    That's what holidays are for!:rotfl:

I'm out with a friend tonight. We haven't managed to meet up ages so it'll be a good old natter over a meal in a local pub. Just checked weather and it'll still be dry and pleasant so I might wear my stretchy floral pencil skirt with patent wedges. I think I'll have to take a cardi but indoors might get away with no sleeves.

Bright and dry here. I've managed to turn all the washing around in a couple of days otherwise nothing hugely exciting going on.:)

    Good Morning lovely ladies.

Not much news here but thought I'd just drop by for a chat....

I have just put away a delivery of meat from Muscle Foods (courtesy of groupon:rotfl:) . It looks like good quality meat and of course with the offer it was extremely cheap. I'll see what I think and report back. Lots of chicken, some steaks, some nice looking burgers, some pork medallions. I m not sure about the sausage......I am very fussy about sausage. Anyway I'll let you know.

Sugarbaby - since the car crash I find I'm food shopping "like a French woman" :rotfl: ie as and when I need to for smaller amounts. The walk does me good. ;)

I use my freezer for meat, fish and a few bits of fruit and veg for "emergencies" and keep a few potato products - chips, hash browns, potato croquettes etc for DS2. Now that there are only two of us I have got rid of my big freezer and just have a fridge freezer. I no longer batch cook much either. I just do bolognese type sauces, the odd casserole or curry and freeze what's left but I don't make a habit of "cooking for the freezer" as such. I live within minutes of so many shops and markets I'm not likely to go hungry.

I do keep a good selection of dry goods and non perishables, lots of spices, fresh herbs on the windowsill or in the garden. I like to shop for milk, bread and fresh produce as and when. The local shops cater for most things.

I understand your comment about not wanting to cook from scratch on a regular basis......I'm starting to feel that way a bit myself so I try keep things easy. The Paleo way of eating is very simple anyway and suits my tummy.

I once had a very interesting conversation with my mother. She said she had spent sixty odd years cooking and all things domestic. She said she had had enough and just didn't want to do it anymore.

Well I have been doing it for 46 years and I now know how she feels. :rotfl: I do it but I don't get as much as a kick out of it as I used to, it's not the same without my husband to cook for. I'm lucky I that I still have DS2 I guess. Cooking for one is not a lot of fun.

Anyway I'm at the stage where If I could afford a nice maid and a good cook I would cheerfully delegate all domestic tasks......;)

Went out for a lovely meal for DS1s birthday. There were about 30 of us. I was the only "elder" - they were all in their 30s. All the girls looked lovely in their pretty dresses. Because I had made such a hash of shaving my legs - long story......I never shave my legs, had run out of cream so used a cheap disposable razor:eek: I had to cover up my legs because they are cut to ribbons......

So.......I went for a bit of a rock chick look, dark denim jeans, navy top and red suede jacket. I got lots of compliments for Being "hip" and "on trend"......so I fessed up and told them about the razor.:rotfl:

Hope my legs heal By the time I go to BElguim next week.
