Did a bit more in the black hole room today now have 6 empty plastic crates which all had stuff in them. Big bag for the bin and some more recycling. We can almost get a new carpet sorted for that room the floor is clear..0

hi miss c
yes you pay the postage.
obviously you can give stuff to other places but it was the constructive donation of used cosmetics that interested me.
british heart foundation accepts new sealed cosmetics in their charity bags that they stick through the door.
I am trying to make a point of putting something in every charity bag that comes through my letterbox. Usually get 1 a week, though many are restricted to clothes and shoes.
Still it de-clutters a bit at a time0 -
Thanks helcat. I'll have to check how much the postage is. I haven't worn make up for yrs.
Most of it is probably at least 8 yrs old thinking about it. hmmm. Is that even safe?I have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammarMortgage pay off date 11/2028. Target 12/2020 :rotfl:

I tried ziffit but most books were rejected and the ones that weren't were only offering 8p!! Not worth the petrol to get it to the collect+ location.
Made a good start on the paperwork at the weekend - and got OH involved too. Recycled all statements and receipts prior to 2009 leaving us 6 full years' history still. We are actually going to have to burn it all in the garden incinerator due to the personal details on everything and our desire not to kill the shredder.
I just weighed the bags to be burned - 12.7kg!!!!

Had a good another clearout of things this morning. As I've mentioned I'm only going to count those items that can be used by someone else/somewhere else so today I:
79. - 84 - Books & DVDs to Ziffit - made myself £9.51 out of things that would otherwise have gone to CS so happy to have a little extra towards the debts
85. - 119 - Books - mostly recipe books - have gone to C.S.
If I counted all the bits of paper I've had to burn/bin I think I'd be at target by now :-)0 -

I'm quite pleased with my progress today and the hallway definitely looks better for my efforts. Even the kids noticed when they came back from schoolMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020
