20-22: 2 video games and 1 book sold on Ebay - posted
23: 1 book read - CS
As for the first day of decluttering my'chap, well we filled the car boot and the back seat twice! :eek:All off to the recycling centre. 2 bags of stuff came home with mefor the charity shop (he doesn't have any near him) and a whole bunch of stuff for Ebay (muggins volunteered), along with some packaging that I can recycle. From his food cupboard (or wartime stash as I call it), I decluttered five tins and a packet for lunch and three tins and a packet for dinner, with some leftovers for him to have for dinner today and tomorrow. I also ditched about half a dozen tins of fruit that had 'blown' (don't ask me what the use by date was!!!:rotfl:), so have been managed to move some of the tins and jars from his worktops to the cupboards. They are NOT coming with him when he moves up to mine!!!

Wow, there's some really good decluttering going on here - well done everyone!
Huge progress here - as I said when I started J is a real hoarder and finds it hard to get rid of things. Today he took me to the tip and I got rid of the following:
73-4. 2 x mops
75. Ironing board
76. Old office chair
It's not a lot but it's a start. He finds all this immensely difficult to the extent we're going to Relate on Friday to see what can be done as it's a big problem in our relationship. He needs to acknowledge he has a problem before anything can be done like counselling etc but I think this is a really positive step for him.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Good luck Mumof2. My hubby is obsessively tidy and hates clutter but I, like your husband usually hate getting rid of things so this thread is helping me so much. I think I have already got rid of more this year than I did for the whole of 2015 so thank you everyone for keeping me motivated :T
Anyway I decided that whilst my kids were tidying their rooms I would make a start on the spare room. It's kinda like our dumping ground (along with the conservatory)in our house where things go if we don't know where to put them etc, so its no where near finished but at least I've started. So gone are:-
251. Another Book People Catalogue (I'm sure breeding is taking place!) - recycled
252. Jiffy bag - recycled
253. Sellotape dispenser box from Christmas - recycled
254. 2014 diary - recycled
255. bundle of serviettes - recycled
256. local mag nov 15 - recycled
257. 4 mini playing cards - recycled
258. M&S Sparks card and leaflet - recycled
259. Toys R Us Christmas catalogue - recycled
260. 2015 Hunks calendar (and I didn't even cut out any of the pictures to save like I used to do before this thread) -recycled
261. Cardboard box - recycled
262. lots of plastic wrappers and broken carrier bags - rubbish
263. airline headphones - bin
264. old box of dusty tissues - recycled
265. coat hanger for scarf - bin
266. 2 x mini eggs boxes out of date - bin
267. sweet which wont be eaten - bin
268. out of date after eights box (breaks my heart) - bin
269. out of date crisps - bin
270. straw from carton drink (without the carton drink attached) - bin
271. Le Senza paper carrier bag which I'd been saving - recycled
I've also now got three boxes full of bits and bobs to be sold so can feel some facebook selling page listings and a car boot coming up soon (when its warmer for the car boot!) so hopefully lots more bits will leave the house soonMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020
