I too have a wallpaper stash Siebrie. Easter has been identified an opportunity to do our bedroom. Did the lounge before Christmas, still got to do the hall and spare bedroom. These are all getting feature walls in an attempt to make the place a bit more interesting for when we come to sell. The spare bedroom looks a bit problematic, I saw on TV that if you have artex, it's less noticeable when painted in matt paint rather than silk, so we need to paint that before we paper, and it's a heck of a job, but of course less aggro than reskimming with plaster.

oh my goodness, it works, MK/ clearing works so well once you have done stage one, which opens up storage areas. Only 9.15 and I have re-arranged more kitchen spaces, only now it works properly for me. When I wanted a break, to have a think, I put washing out :D

It was just a matter of simply re-shuffling and also of taking out a lovely le creuset tri ply casserole, 20 cm and don`t know when I last used it. Will be going to a dd, who will love it. The casserole was key, like shuffling a rubics cube, it opened up more possibilities

All my foods are now within very easy reach in strong pull out open drawers in a larder unit. Anything that I have duplicates of are now at eye level in my storage shed (vermin proof and insulated). Duplicates will be used first and when I use an item from the drawer, then it will immediately be written on a magnetic shopping list on my tall freezer. Everything is handy in my small footprint kitchen :)

I almost put out two flat cast iron seasoned pancake pans (costco bargain) then suddenly remembered that my griddle went to a dd. Flat pans are now nicely in a drawer and not taking up much room at all. I first removed some items like soup pouches and ice cube bags and put them into an area with a designated space for the likes of them. Again not to be replaced when used but will be used, eventually. This clearing is certainly enabling flow, love it :D

I need to step back now as I want to do stage two in the corner units but tomorrow is soon enough as I need to sleep on it first, so I don`t get rid of things that I will use, even if infrequently

Well done on all the progress happening.

Gentle hugs to people who need them, and as I seem to have come down with current lurgy not much doing in the old homestead or garden - despite jobs piling up. But looking out at all the beautiful blossoms and colour is lovely.

Have to agree with the person who mentioned about sudden growth of stray 'whiskers', usually noticed after returning from some 'do' where I wanted to look good!

Thank you to the person who mentioned 'bullet journals'. Very interesting and seriously thinking of doing it myself. At the moment using little booklet and random papers for 'to do' lists - otherwise as memory is getting worse items would get forgotten - so having it all in one place would work for me.

    Take care.

Both corner cupboards done, took me less than 30 minutes, thanks to available spaces. Just a couple of small items for the cs. Followed by more washing and then a 6 mile cycle ride, so beautiful here, peaceful and tbh I wanted to stay out longer

Another bit of re-positioning (and some drilling) when I got back. The porch area, I took a metal windy sun down and windy poppies in a tall vase. Too much fast `movement`, replaced with three hand made wooden items, lovely tranquil 12" smiley sun, an 8" intarsia butterfly and a group of people on an enjoyable cycle ride, on a wooden stand across the corner. I cannot believe how nice it looks, all of a sudden, like the missing happy link

Slept really well last night and am (again) energised today, it is MK and also feng shui, I know it is

Very productive day. The joggers and cagoule came out of charity bag and given to niece, whom I saw at school this morning.
Came home did my cleaning changed and washed bedding , then went through clothing again, now have a charity bag and half bag of clothes. Plus a large sandwich bag of costume jewellery. :T
I took and washed all my scarves silky and wooly ones. The drawer has now been relaid, with a cardboard box in for the silky ones. So they don't slide around when I take one out.
Handbags only had 1 that could be gone. But the others I've kept the going out/best bags in the drawer and put larger day bags in to a plastic tub, in a smaller cupboard. The tubs where thrown up when I decided to get rid of paints and stamping sets of dgson, as he no longer uses them, these are going to my sister for her grandson.
Moved my work clothes from spare room wardrobe were they resided with coats, to the wardrobe by my bed. And dresses have took their place next to coats. I only wear dresses on special occasions! !!
Went through a bag of lipsticks that sit next to my handbag, got rid of over half. These I keep there to put on before I go out, then pop in my bag. Got rid of 3 pairs of flipflop, had for years, and they are foam soles and very worn.i tend to wear fit flops now as they are better for my feet.

My painting/odd job clothes got looked at too. Gone are 2 t shirts a pair of joggers and a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt is from circa 1980 and only held together by paint!
2 t shirts replaced with items from charity bag!

Can't believe how much stuff keeps coming from my cupboards, I know I've not finished yet:o

I am now feeling very satisfied, and have sat down to read spark joy on my kindle.

I have installed the new phones and tried them out :D. In a very Woo way the first call i made brought really good news about the health of a dear friend

As a consequence of the phone changes I have rearranged my desk* and it looks great. It also required DH to shift a few dvds that he had let accumulate, so the area in the corner of LR beside the tv looks much better too!
*For those that don't' know I have a '2 up, 2 down' very small house and the back bedroom (approx 7 x 9) has a multitude of uses and is variously refered to as the office, the library, the sunroom (south facing! ), the ironing room, my dressing room, my craft room........ I could go on :rotfl:

I am itching to revisit clothes while I feel ruthless, but dH is off tomorrow so it will have to wait. I suspect most of us who share our homes with someone find it much easier to Kondo when we can knuckle down to it without interruptions (what's for tea, where is my thingy me bob, have you ironed my whatever, can you ring x for me.....blah, blah, blah !).

Still full of a cold but rang clients to warn and see if they wanted me and they did :(.
I insisted on delaying one visit til later in the week because client has daily treatment for a lung problem, no way am i going to risk infecting her. Hope to be better before the end of the week:)

kittie you are doing brilliantly, I love your enthusiasm and your wonderful achievements :T
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Ooh forgot ! Dgsons dressing gown went to niece also. He has 2 and prefers to wear mine!!!
Mine is floor length black fluffy with hood, so he likes to wear it to be darth vader!!!
Which makes me 3rd in line to wear it as the kitten loves it too!!;)
Work all day today , but really enjoyed reading spark joy, although I've already been through everything a couple of things came up that she covered.
I even went under the kitchen sink before bed to move plastic bags of which I now have very few, out of the ike@ bag holder, to pop the folded into a mushroom punnet.
Gosh can you remember all that plastic bag samosa ING we did !! Only 2 were left as samosa as all other about 10, we're bag for life and folded nicely into punnet.
The old bag holder is now in spare room wardrobe with rolls of wrapping paper in .
Still pondering the washing up liquid going in cupboard, atm it's in a ceramic bottle with room for sponge in an attached dish? Also hand soap has a bottle the same.
I don't have much out on worktop , and much as I'd love to move compost caddy, at least it's hidden behind the fridge/freezer, next to kettle as we put tbags in it. The counter is u shaped so after the kettle is microwave in corner then 3 T caddies, hob in middle then the biscuit barrel with my bread in, other corner has fancy bottle of oil, then it's the sink with white ceramics
Bottles on that side, after sink is a longer worktop that atm has a vase of fresh flowers.
It sounds a lot but really doesn't look it:rotfl:

The redecoration has started! Last night we moved all things from the living room to dds' bedroom (they are away for 2 weeks), and removed half of the old wallpaper. We could have done more, but normal household duties need to continue, too :)

I made a very quick 'does it spark joy' session when packing up the content of the Exped1t, and a lot of the girls' crafts went. I doubt they will notice when they come back. DH so much enjoys the space in the living room, that he does not want the Exped1t 4x4 and connecting desk back in the room. That's a discussion we'll continue for some time, because - even though I like the space, too - I want the girls to play in the living room for a few more years. They will go to their own room and out of the house soon enough! I'll do another more thorough 'spark joy' session when I put everything back into the living room (in whatever cabinet....).

LizzieR thank you so much for that link. It's the first time I've really understood what 'bullet journal' is about - I've seen it referred to in various places but I thought it meant you had to buy a special system, I know some people use books with stickers etc and I really don't want to spend money acquiring Stuff! I have umpteen unused notebooks however ... far too many.

I have commented before that I find it difficult to manage my time effectively now I'm self-employed and working from home. I never miss an essential work deadline but it's hard to schedule in time for 'fun' stuff like baking, sewing etc - it always gets pushed to the end of the list. I might give this a try - it'll cost nothing after all. Thanks very much.

You're very welcome! Hope you get on well with it. It took me a couple of hours to set up the journal in the most logical way for me, but it now works really well. The hardest part for me was writing on the first page - as though somehow by writing in an unused notebook would spoil it, almost as if what I wanted to write wasn't important enough! I think the whole Kondo philosophy has helped change that - I should use the lovely things I have (including notebooks!) rather than keeping them for best. I mean really, who keeps a notebook for best...?!

wort, that satisfied feeling doesn`t really explain it to a stranger, does it? Its a really deep feeling and is surrounded by happiness and is so uplifting. It seems to enable that jump to another level

Ahh thanks MM, I could not have done it without the thread and I am not kidding. That bit of enthusiasm here and there, the smallest things that people did, the enthusiasm that shines out, so infectious

My kitchen feels wonderful now and I even put the large pan away in a cupboard, a nice pan but still a pan and now the hob is remaining shiny. Just putting surface protectors in a handy drawer and the washing up liquid underneath. It all added up and now I am encouraged to put my dishes away as soon as they are used, no more temptation to dump and wait

Nothing to add today, except that it has all given me an interest in me, in my well being and I now have time to do nice things out of doors and to add cycle miles to my legs and maybe a few more happy years to my life. This karma stuff, how things go around, yes I am getting back much more than I give :)
