:jthis makeup exploration is going to be fun

tomorrow I am waking up to a nice clean and tidy home, I will have lots of me time and will make a special effort to get back into neglected wood carving. Tbh the tidy home did come via MK, I just did all of a ten minute tidy, books away on specific shelves, bills and paperwork filed, some shredded and makeup back into its drawer space. Oh the benefits are so very good for the mind, trouble is that I feel so energised, even now and I need to empty my mind by bedtime. Maybe radio 3 as there isn`t much gibbering on that channel and the music is pretty lovely lately and I can read at the same time

:) Eyeshadows don't work for me because, although caucasian, I have a near epicanthic fold to my eyelid and none of my upper lid is visible when my eyes are open. Think Renee Z*llw*ger pre surgery.

It seems to be something common enough in Finland etc and, as a mongrel white brit, I could have some of that ancestry in the northern eurpoean genetic soup. If you take a black & white photo of me, my eyes look asian, but not the rest of my features.

I quickly learned not to bother with eye makeup and concentrate on my lips, back in the day when I wore anything, which was over 30 years ago. Really cannot be arrised and look fine without as am blessed with skin that looks younger by 10 years than the rest of me. Can't claim credit for careful maintenance, it's just the luck of the draw.

I just collected Clear your Clutter with Feng Shui from the library yesterday and it is a great read. Already decluttered the scarves and stuff which hang behind the bedroom door. :j

I like a basic day make up, but one thing that will freshen anyone's look is a good eyebrow shape, keep them in good order and you will look a bit better with or without cosmetic enhancement.

Managed to Kondo 3 of my 4 dining set chairs after receiving new ones as a gift, living upstairs in a flat it has been a lot of effort to carry them outside to the recycle area.

:) I think I was one of several who recommended it. It's a great little book which I have borrowed from the library several times over the years and thoroughly enjoyed. Glad you're both liking it.

Today's cunning plan involves a little time at the junk shop (some year end paperwork to be sorted out) and then a light luncheon and I'm off to the lottie to gently plant some spuds. I say gently because I'm still not 100% well and if I have to do some today and some tomorrow, so be it.

Hope everyone has a great day. GQ x

That book sounds fab and I`ve just ordered a second hand copy via prime for a total of £1.74, cheaper than a sunday paper. It was the scarves post from grunnie that did it. I have a scarf hanger behind my wardrobe door and it is full of scarves, out of sight, out of mind

Does anyone else make a kind of list for the following day? either a written list or a mental list? I didn`t make one for today but will in a mo, I feel that I might float along and want to do at least a couple of positive things to tick off. Floating is easy, it is the focus that is harder.

Actually I may well pre-kondo my costume jewellery this weekend. Put my must-keeps into their own home, which will make it easier when the grandaughters come, to give them some give-aways

I do have lovely knitting yarns, debbie bliss stuff. Had it for years are also vac packed but I gave away lots of my hand knitted things yesterday. I think I enjoyed the knitting more than the wearing. I need to take it all out of their baskets and give it away for someone else to love. The yarn is cotton/cashmere which is heavy and drapey and these were the types of garments I gave to cs. This is going to release quite a bit of space in my snug. The baskets are nice and in low units which were from JL years ago

I will go through them today, they hide things :D

Boat being lifted in to the water today. I am no 10 of 50! Last two boat cushions in DH's car ready to go on board so my RoD is a lot clearer now. It will be a busy day as all hands are needed. DH is on slinging duty & I'm taking the dosh as well as giving a hand where needed. Will be shattered by tonight.
Kittie - I have a couple of wipe clean lists in the kitchen. One for shopping and a 'to do' it does help as sometimes DH will look at it and do something on the list lol!
Will be looking into the Feng Shui book - I did have a dabble a few years ago but like GQ didn't find some of it translated very well to a western culture.
On the subject of make up I did sport out a few years ago for a proper foundation brush - it has been money well spent as you only need a small amount of foundation and the brush gets into any creases so it looks very smooth and even. As I've got older I've also found the BB creams suit me better and I just use a plummy taupe eyeshadow.
Just offered my dining room table to someone on Kahuti (replacement site for Streetlife) so fingers crossed.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Ooh gosh didn't think to check the library, was too impatient! I try not to read it at night though as it makes me want to stay up and get on with it (or be very twitchy!) and I'm just exhausted every night after work already.

Wish I knew how or had the courage to do my eyebrows! I've always just binned my old used make up but tbh most days i don't bother with any.
    Boat?? Now I'm jealous !

My friends therapist warned her against writing long to do lists as they can make you feel bad and since that i cut back on mine and now only list essentials i know ill forget, food shopping and then I have what i call my 'anti drift list '. If i feel myself drifting, getting mopey etc only then do i look at the list
    No pressure on myself otherwise.
I've found im a lot happier this way. I never before realised what a negative effect my to do lists were having!

Being single I have to always plan something for the weekend so I don't just get sucked into spending it doing just chores so today im ticking the ballet off my bucket list and what the heck I'm going to find something lovely to wear and dress up even if it's a cheap side seat ! It's a meetup so hopefully make some new friends too !

Tomorrow the local car boot sale starts....danger zone lol !!!

I wish you all sunny thoughts and hopefully real sun.
