Back from a foray to South Wales for uni open day. They couldn't have put him off more if they'd tried. It's s wonder they haven't put him off history altogether it was so dull. So that's been kondoed off the list. Sheffield tomorrow.

Our journey home took us through Birmingham :eek: oh my life it was hideous. People everywhere and bags and bags and bags of stuff. Cardiff was bad but Birmingham :eek:

Currently kondoing wine down my throat :D

VJsMum Did you have to change at New Street?
If so, you have my deepest sympathies if that was your situation; you couldn't really avoid the consumer hell.

With the combination of the Bullring and the German Market it was hideously busy on the main streets and at least I could go by obscure routes to reach my destination. And at 5pm, it is unpleasant to see people overcome by excess of drink or food. _pale_

It's one of those weeks where things are being collected together so they can be transported elsewhere...

VJsMum - my DD is studying Eng Lang & Lit at Cardiff and loves it - always did straight from the start - but I must admit the talks she had on her open day were great - I found both of them interesting. Hope Sheffield is better for you! Am not looking forward to doing it all again here next year with DS1 (he wants to study medicine) - whole weekends written off along with money on travel and hotels (still - it is all worth it in the end.... :))

Ended up perking up a bit yesterday so managed to post my 2 fleabay parcels and drop off some stuff at CS and also get rid of a large bag stuffed full of padded envelopes and plastic mailing bags. I still have lots left but at least they now fit into their allotted storage boxes in the garage, rather than spilling out everywhere.... I don't necessarily use many of them now (am fleabaying much less stuff - clearly I must be getting somewhere!!) but still need a range of sizes for when I do. At least they are also really easy to get rid of when I get to the point of having minimal packaging for fleabay/ general parcel posting (rare) :)

    So sorry Greenbee.

Not really had the chance to do much here, the kitchen is still an empty shell but does now have floorboards (they all had to be replaced due to woodworm). All I have done is clean up the brick dust from the rest of the house. The builders will be back tomorrow and I will be back to square one!

I did take my too small TV to DDs for her bedroom but forgot the remote, will take that up today. Also going to take a ladder so she can get her christmas decs down from the loft.

    Morning all :D

GQ Yes the clothes sale is a big talking point and its lovely to see all these clothes that would have been off to Africa or landfill used again. You would not believe how nice the clothes are and have years left to serve the new owner. :D

The best thing about it for me is meeting everyone and having such a laugh with them. My 2 bestest ;) friends did the folding packing and taking money which left me to 'mingle' :rotfl:

Was given the most stunning 1920s coat which belonged to an Aunt of an elderly lady I know. She didnt know what to do with it and decided I would :D

She told me the story of her Aunt who was the Mistress of a very important man (I wont say who here) ;) and had a child with him in the 20s.and he had gifted her the coat when the child was born.

I have now got to decide where it will end its days but it really needs to be seen and the story to be told. So something for me to think about.

Also met another lady who I felt really drawn to she felt the same and after talking to her for a while we could be twins. So going round to her house in the week for a cup of tea she rescues dogs and has 4 at the moment. Oh and the other strange thing is our Birthdays are on the same day :rotfl:

Kittens are fine and Lolly has joined up with them so they are a little gang Lolly is so funny and headbutts them all off the food and really drives them insane. They get her back by jumping on her when she is running but she is very very thick skinned and doesnt care :rotfl: They are such happy cats now. Lola comes everyday for food but all the kittens drive her mad so hangs out somewhere else most of the time ;)

So thats me really need to catch up with some KM next week along with cleaning as been so busy getting ready for the sale done nothing else really :rotfl:Apart from doing a challenge at the gym and have to run everyday for 15 days straight at least 5k per day. I am on day 11 today so the end is in sight :T

Mavvy re: the coat - do you have a textiles or fashion college near you, or maybe a local museum?

... and if there is anything that you can't sell on, I'm taking my dad's stuff to the Purfleet Trust in Lynn - give them a call and they'll let you know what they currently need. They may have a more convenient drop off point for you.
