You're right, GQ. I would love a new oven dish, but then tell myself to look at the ones I already have, and just start using them. They may not be the 'ideal' size, but they will do perfectly fine, are colourful (which I like), and I don't do that much cooking that requires an oven dish! Why buy a new one and have the others as spare?Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

GQ - our little stainless teapot gave up the ghost a few weeks ago and despite there being at least 12 CS in my local town NOT ONE stainless teapot!!! I bought a nice looking one in Robert Days (£13!!!!!!) first time we used it if you poured slow it dribbled all over the place and if you poured fast it came out the lid so it was returned next day and refunded. Managed to get a small plain one in another hardware store much cheaperSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Aww, beggar it, there was a small but tall s.s. teapot at Nan's (apart from the one twin to mine) which also went to a chazzer which you could have had. Glad you got one sorted eventually.
One of the things which came from Nan's was a Pyrex one litre measuring jug. As I'm sure I'm not the only one to mourn the older type Pyrex jugs, the ones with the handles in a closed loop, that you can hang on hooks without risking them falling off, and with the spouts which actually pour properly. A design the company abandoned for the more sleek and modern and useless design several years back.
People don't tend to part with these jugs and when Mum's hit the deck, she found herself lumbered with the new style, which she hates. I'm not wild about mine, and have a standing order with pals working in chazzers to reserve one of the trad ones if they ever get one. This hasn't happened yet and probably never will.
Sooo, Mum has two of the new style ones which she'd drop for an older design in a new york minute, and then a third came from Nan's. She was going to keep it because, y'know, it's a Pyrex jug, isn't it?
We had the conversation standing before her cupboard before we agreed that the third iteration of an unsatisfactory design in one household isn't really necessary, and off to the chazzer it went.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Small but significant: I have just rearranged the cables on my phone and router, and moved the extension cable. The router and phone are now no longer sitting on the comfy chair. GreeboCat has not been pleased that his chair has been taken up with electricals.
Phone is on one side of the sofa, router and extension cable on the other side of the sofa. The new arrangement means that I can plug in doodahs ( phone, laptop etc) into the extension next to the sofa and not have cables running across the floor to the socket on the far wall. Much safer.0 -
That sounds like a great job done, Fen! Wins like that bring a smile to your face, don't they?,
No kondo-ing today, been working all day (doing extra hours). Although i did kondo-fold a lot of clothes for a client
I got home to find DH surrounded by xmas lights. We now have them on shrubs at front and back doors, round the door and in a pile ready to go on the small tree in the living room. They all spark joy so i am not complaining. In fact, we will take a battery-operated set on holiday with us in January, to put on the veranda of the s/c apartment:D It's the inner child :rotfl:

Anniversary photos all done and on a memory stick - phew! Just hope they will enjoy them. Busy day today, couple of hours this morning showing ladies at my local Age Concern how to use their phones, tablets and iPads that their families buy for them
think ill spend this afternoon doing some baking as the weather looks a bit grim and maybe try for a bit of Kondoing. Did sort out my utensil drawer yesterday, gave the cutlery tray a wash and identified a few items that were either not used or past their best so a mini kondo! Have a good day all.

DH and I spent 3 hours kondo-ing [Ua lot[/U] of soggy, heavy leaves from aunt's garden yesterday afternoon. This was after I had spent 3 hours putting up xmas decs for 2 clients in tne morning! This morning my shoulders and neck are a little bit kn4ckered
I did enjoy helping my clients. It was a bit of a challenge, sorting through their much-loved but very random and ancient decorations to get something co-ordinated and not so moth-eaten, but both lots did look lovely in the end. The biggest challenge was not to try and use everything they brought out, but to be a bit selective! I am not at all artisitic but I was on my best form and it did spark joy when I looked a the results
I should like time to do my tree today and to perk up a table centrepiece I made a few years ago from pine cones, few fake poinsettia flowers and fake Christmas roses and bundles of cinnamon sticks. The centrepiece sits in a brightly coloured bowl that I rescued from my friend's bin :money:
Have kondo'd my old snorkell mask in eager anticipation of a new one in 2.5 weeks time
Have a great Friday Everyone,

I decorated my pal's junk shop last weekend, albeit against a bit of resistance from him, as he can be a bit of grinch. Popped in after work one day this week, it still looked great and apparently customers have been commenting favourably all week.:rotfl:
I make a vague attempt at winnowing out the parental Xmas decs each year, as they have far more than can be accomodated on the much smaller tree, and the same ones are favoured and the same ones don't get used each year. But they all have to be kept for Justin - arrrghhh! If I ever catch up with that bloke, he'll be for it, I tell ya.
Guys, on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday, I'm gonna be in the parental home. Ostensibly just visiting, not kondo-ing, but who knows?;) Wish me luck and a deficiency of turquoise teeth and mummified sparrows.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Have you not kept the teeth as this year's ornament? A nice bit of sparkly ribbon, dangling under the fairy...0
