...I seem to have rather stupidly broken my toe (getting out of the bath.... would you believe). for someone who walks everywhere this is rather a problem, but not much to be done except wait. I can walk on the side of my foot, but probably shouldn't do it too much. Am cross with myself for my stupidity and awkwardness.......
Oww, I broke my little toe about 8 years ago - very painful and a nuisance as the nail kept falling off for around 5 years2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

VJ's Mum - the hospitals just tape the broken toe to the next toe to keep it straight & they do that with broken fingers too so you can just do it yourself if the broken one isn't wonky!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I have a WIP package for them too, will be including some expensive larger cup size bras that are far too big for me since being poorly, and already put in cleansers, body lotions, manicure stuff etc, but have a lot of OPI and Nails Inc mini polishes, many unused as I cannot be fiddling around with the teensy brushes (most came as parts of sets or gifts.
This is a great way to get rid of samples, ST's etc usefully. Thanks for this.
I can hardly keep my eyes open again. Whilst away Kondoed the last of my fashion wash and some hair and body wash from last hotel we stayed in. DH Kondoed old sheets and towels to leave for dust sheets.‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. Well i had a very spooky time last night, prob more eerie than anything. I had KD the kids, one at a party the other a sleepover and is was so quiet. I didn't have to watch tv with the volume on loud and i didn't have to pause it once, not once I tell you!
Curious of how many people are like me though that instead of making the most of the 'me' time and chillin' you plough on with chores as you know they will get done faster as the kids aren't there to 'help?'
we're on half term this week and i am still up at this time!!!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Not just when the kids aren't there to help, same applies when DH is not there to help, imo. :rotfl::rotfl:I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -

Morning all
Vjsmum, ouch to the broken toe. Poor you I hope that you can get it taped and once it starts healing the pain eases.
Yesterday I did two small diy jobs that mean the bathroom door sign and the corner angel are now in their correct places and no longer cluttering up my bedside table. Quite a few sweets got kondoed last night to various ghosts !!!!!s and monsters who knocked my door, but they were all very polite nad most know my name (drawback of living so close to the school you work at)
Decided to get al, the DVDs out of the lounge cupboards (they were calling to me) they a now all in alphabetical order and over 60 are a pile ready to either go to the CS or to be given away if away one wants them. I'm quite pleased with the progress I made there but there is still a lot more to do as I've not even touched the shelves yet!SPC~12 ot 124

Awww, thanks, hun.
Posting on the fly today, slept in until 7.15 am because of two factors - I'd forgotten to turn my alarm on and the students nearby were partying into the small hours and keeping me awake.
I've often wondered how much more productive students would be if they actually went to sleep before 2-3 am......... :rotfl:
Have a great day, folks.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Dropping in out of lurkdom to re-type the update I 'lost' a few days back.
Re-visited the bookcase and passed about 20 books on to the CS, along with several items that had suddenly become joyless - it was like the CS box became a magnet and called to be filled. The shelves look so nice now!
I have a gap on the wardrobe shelf where I was storing the shoe boxes for the Christmas collection. The boxes had to be filled and handed in much earlier this year, but the space is nice: after years of hoarding I have no shoe boxes at all in the house now! (I had to construct a lid for the last one as it had disappeared long ago.)
I had a lovely card-making blitz and then sorted out my stash so the card drawers are tidy. I collected the papers, stickers, toppers etc that I won't use, packed them into a ziplock bag and donated the pack to the CS that has a section for crafty stuff.
I am steadily cross stitching small butterflies for a charity that makes 'comfort cushions'. I get the joy of stitching and I'm using up small bits of aida fabric and a set of 'variations' skeins so I have been enjoying trying them out!
I am slowly assembling the scrappy string quilt top for my mother's birthday. I made the blocks to use up my stash mountain, and now I am putting it together as the whim takes me. It had better take me a bit more often I think as it needs to be assembled, backed and bound by the end of the month. That will clear another space in "my" corner.
We did the winter/ summer swap and once again I was faced with guilt and concern. I need to make better decisions about clothing. I have started noting down what I wear and why. The information is.... well, I was going to say "revealing" !.... interesting. Work in progress, I think.
Off to catch up on the thread....I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
My brother is delivering a CoD today (he saw my parents at the weekend, and as he has a van they took advantage!). It's a very pretty if somewhat tatty 'brown' CoD that my grandmother bought second-hand. And means I'll finally have some drawers in my bedroom. This should help me get a bit more organised, and also help with decisions about a wardrobe and possibly a new bed.0
