So I had Mins gamed till September 22. That means I have 212 things and 212 photos to Kondo.
So far
100 physical photos (which is one whole album worth) from which I have concluded:
- we go on a lot of holidays
- some of my outfits have been criminal
- ditto haircuts
- OH takes lots of photos of boats, trams, trains (this is not news)
- it is unnecessary to take a photo of the aeroplane that transported you, with the exception of the Aeroflot one where the gate lady at the airport said "rather you than me. ":rotfl:
- you don't need three photos of each thing...
Things:
1 flute grade 3 music book
2 old Highway Code
3. Hairbrush that was behind the piano and is now minging
4 car wash sponge that has died in storage
5 a compass
6 a padded envelope
7 - 18 plastic garden pots well past their prime.
TBC....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Welcome Ruby eskimo! Do join in. Some of us are a bit potty but we are a very friendly bunch!
That is amazing Tea Lady , such good news and really Woo :T
Electrician is cracking on and looks like job is going well. I am about to re-think how to re-position the furniture when I put it back in. I think the layout could be better. I am hoping DH will agree to a couple of things going but that is a big hope, he is not one for letting go. He may have peaked last week when he rummaged out Stuff for SIL !
The only thing holding me back is lack of storage in our tiny house, so things have to be located in the backbedroom, or they would be homeless. There is a large plastic bag of spare bedding for mum (very occasional visits prev, now unlikely due to health issues - almost worth getting rid of
and buying a cheap set of sheets if she does decide to come.)..hmmmm, thinking aloud helps!
I rationalised the DIY supplies and pots of paint a while back and although I shall revisit I reckon they are fully Kondo'd. My craft stash was also done but I did chuck recycling a small bag of bits this morning.
There is a plastic crate of winter coats, jumpers and a throw. Again, kondo'd last year and I don't think anything will go out of there but will check! Nowhere else for these items to live so they will have to stay here.
My small desk - very useful, defo staying.
A reasonable size COD. Bought at auction at least 25 years ago, prob 1970's, super quaility GPlan! Staying! It has all my kondo'd clothes in except undies and nightwear. I use backbedroom as a dressing room so this is great in here.
The small kitchen-cupboard type units on one wall hold all sorts - walking gear, picnic bag and associated items, winter quilt, printer consumables, stationery, and papwerwork for business and tax returns. Oh, and my snorkel set!
DH maybe right, not much can go. Doh.
VJsMum, shoes are 1) on shoe rack - mine, or 2) scattered in bedroom and by back door - DH
 I did buy a shoe tray which DH now uses so thankfully the wet and mud is confined to that!

My dds came round at the weekend and took a load of things to the tip for me which was great but when I went to use my soup maker for the first time I realised they had kondod the instruction book so I have had to guess how to use it
On the bright side the conservatory looks good now, I can move in the hall instead of being trapped by boxes and the soup is smelling good so fingers crossed."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

19. DVD watched at the weekend and set aside for donation
20. Steam mop. I've had it a couple of years and when I use it it blows the electrics, so to the tip I fear....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Not much MKing going on at the moment in our little house but i have been reading on the posts and I concur (late as it is) with everyone else GQ - a GQ blog would be most interesting, witty & insightful.
Back to work and then more study tonight.
Have a good rest of the day all!

Where do people keep their shoes?
We have a porch with a shoe cupboard in of about 6 shelves, each shelf holds three to four pairs of shoes.
We also have a box where we can put another dozen or so pairs.
OH keeps his in the office - all around the floor circling a shoe stand
There are also some in the conservatory by the back door.
There are three of us who live here permanently - DD has most of hers at uni.
I can't understand why I spend my life putting shoes away and why the designated storage is either full or not used. Saying make people put them away" won't cut it. I have about 8 pairs in use seasonally - so my third of the shoe cupboard, the others wear fewer....
I just don't get it
2 of us here. We both have a pair of shoes each in the conservatory for slipping on when going to shed/hanging out washing etc. OH has the pair he wears daily near his chair in the kitchen. All mine are in the bottom of wardrobe and taken out and returned as required. All that clutter used to be money0 -

You and me both VJ............I cant get OH to keep shoes in one place. His argument is that he doesn't have many pairs but when I opened the shoe cupboard in porch its full of his and DDs..........I regularly go through shoes and try and sort to category - outdoor/gardening/walking/climbing/specialist sport shoes on racks by back door of conservatory - dont use that door very often and its out of the way for shoes not in everyday use. Seasonal shoes in cupboard in porch. Slippers in porch because you are supposed to TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF in there:mad::mad: Out of season shoes stored away in cupboards upstairs. Sadly its a good plan which last for about 48hrs:(Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
