KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

I hope things will be gentle and peaceful for your nan. Would a garden centre or farm museum be interested in picking up the roller?
I am shattered and all I have done is put away a lot of stuff on the bedroom, filled the wheelie bin, finished assembling the two floor lights, loaded the dishwasher and torn up some cardboard for recycling. I am going to get some potatoes and onions and have defrosted low fat mince ready to make a large cottage pie tomorrow.
I think a couple of dds might be popping round for lunch tomorrow and don't know yet if older dd and son in law are coming round as well.

Maybe the council will let us leave it, it's up on a bank in the back garden and looks very picturesque most of the time with plants growing around it and often a birdie perched on the handle. We'll see.
I've been gardening for three hours today, interspliced with two tip runs on the bicycle. Each run to and from the tip is 25 mins and, although I had another two IKEYA blue bags ready to roll by the time I had run out of stream with the gardening, I didn't have enough ooomph to make it down to the tip and back up the hill again, so they're for another day.
Mum and Dad have visited with Nan this afternoon. She's comfortable, lucid and aware of her surroundings and asking sensible questions, but knows she won't be going home. The hospital have her on palliative care, she says the staff are wonderful, can't do enough for you.
:heart2: After all the dreadful things you read in the newspapers, that's a lovely thing to hear.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GQ, so sorry. Hoping for a peaceful, lovingly-cared-for finale for you nan ((0)).
Am about to plan where contents of back bedroom can go in prep for electrician visit. Will be a logistical nightmare. Was hopng to put off the scatering round the house till just before the visit but DH wants to do it ASAP. There is little sense in having upheaval for an extra week but I am unable to get DH to see logic, sigh.
DH did however come into his own today - he kondo'd a mouse from the loft  And, while up there he found 'a spare toaster' - why we have such a thing I have no idea. Have made mental note for future!
Have a small confession - bought el cheapo dress in Sainsbobs 25% off, because it will be joyful AND I can get into a smaller sizeGiven that 2 v large bags of clothes were released last wk I think that is Ok

GQ thinking of you.
Maybe the port can be opened to toast your Nan? We opened my dad's bottle of Chivas Regal that he'd been given in approx.1988, after mum died in 2005, and it's been sipped on auspicious occasions since then.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Made a decision in the last few minutes; have booked a day return coach ticket to the hometown, leaving at sparrowfart o'clock. The folks don't know it but they're going to have me join them for breakfast tomorrow - that's what you get for letting an offspring have the door key. The fools, the fools.:p
I will visit Nan in hospital in the afternoon and then go back to the city in the early evening.
Seems to me emotionally right, once I'm back at work, it all gets horribly complicated due to not having a car.
Righty, chin up and titus out, I am going offline now and will be back on Monday. Gonna have a soak in a hot bath and an early night, ready for a long day tomorrow.
See you all Monday, and thanks for the moral support - it means a lot.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
