Had a quick straighten up of the bookcase this morning and have put 2 books in the 'ongoing charity carrier bag'. I had various unused beauty products sitting on ebay for a while, have put what didn't sell into one joblot starting at 99p auction.
It's a nice day here, washing on the line and dog walking this avo, DH has a late shift at work and so hopefully I will tackle the hall cupboard at some point this evening - it shouldn't take that long!DFW - Paid so far - 0% CC's - £2 / £2000, £27 / £1200, £32 / £1800,

For anyone collecting Nect*r pints with the Oxf*m tag your bag scheme there is an offer on at moment for 5x points on every pound spent on the items you have donated. 99% of my donated stuff goes to Oxf*m and the little bit of cash back suits my pocket
However just lately I have noticed things out for sale that I have donated that done have the barcode on that would track pints to my nectar card. The place has had a few management changes since January and I am not sure it is as well organised as it was. I may miss out on some points but the charity also misses out on their gift aid:mad:
Plan to take a small bag of stuff later today so may have a word....Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

1 ladies bike put at end of drive with 'free' sign on successfully taken. Was kept a year ago in case DD went to a uni where a bike may be useful. She's at uni and does not (nor need) a bike. I struggle on pushbikes with dodgy hip and knee so it has gone
Lots of cardboard boxes used to take DD's stuff to uni being burned this evening by DS1 in chiminea, along with a small amount of confidential paper waste and some more scrap wood.
Several McD's toys from DS3's room in bag for Op CC.
Lots of rubbish and art/ craft items made when at school binned/ recycled by DD before she left yesterday.

Snuck out between showers and got a bag of books and an ali baba wicker basket wombled last Friday evening down to the chazzer.
Did a little chazzer shopping in various places; a re-usable shopping bag, a pair of paperbacks and a pair of DVDs. Total spend £3.25 and the only thing which won't be a use-and-re-donate is the bag.
Horribly humid and clammy today, everyone's grumbling about it.
Have several tidying-type chores which I could be doing but I think I'll leave them awhile. Going to a pal's this evening and don't want to peak too early and use all of my limited energy - ME/CFS person. At least, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I used to give my stuff to my local oxfam near work. Tagged the bag & did the whole nectar points thing too, but any of stuff sell? Who knows? Coz I never, ever got a letter from oxfam saying your stuff sold, don't think I gave them start, good stuff, but it is only my opinion. Maybe they didn't even tag my donations. So now, I don't give any more donations to them.
An old Hoover plus attachments, where the on off button doesn't work, so you have to switch it and off by the mains - all given away for free via stree**ife ...another thing gone from the house that came from the loft.
Another thing that came from the loft was an old laptop that has completely died a death, beyond repairing as too old. So hard drive taken out for me to kill it & empty shell will be put on the street**Ife for anyone who would like the components.
Kondoed money yesterday, as we went to the cinema & had lunch. First time in ages to the cinema, was good. So am happy with that, was nice to go out after been stuck at home due to the very hot weather in the south where we live.
Have a good rest of the day all!

I used to be a gift-aid donor with Hoxfam but got tired of seeing my donations out on the shop floor a lot of the time without the gift aid tags. They'd been handed over with clearly-tagged bags and a verbal reminder that they were gift aided, too.
I took it up with the manager, eventually. She assured me that this wasn't happening, that gift-aid donations were placed immediately in a separate area and handled differently. I took things off the shelf that I'd donated in the previous couple of weeks (not mass-produced items so not going to be cases of mistaken identity) and showed them to her, sans gift aid.
She didn't really know how to answer that, other than to promise that they'd be taken back and re-done with gift aid. I gave the shop the benefit of the doubt but it kept on happening so then I eventually emailed the charity and told them why I was stopping. I gift aid with SENSE now.
After the bad experience with Hoxfam, if I see my ex-possessions in the SENSE shop - which I do - I check to see if the gift aid number is on them, and it always is. Plus I get regular thank-you emails and updates of what they made.
I honestly think Hoxfam have got a problem in a lot of stores and need to pull their socks up.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
