    Morning all :D

I had to share my excitement with you :rotfl:

Yesterday a TYPE written invoice arrived :D Written on an old typewriter. I was amazed and just kept looking at it and smiling. When DH got home I left in on the side to see if he noticed it and it was the first thing he said 'That is typed':rotfl:It must be an old one as the letter e is a bit faint and has a bit missing :D

Come on has anyone got a typewritter lurking in the back of a cupboard I havent seen one for years ;)
It made my day even more joyful :) Little things and all that :D

:) I had a portable Silvette brand type-writer as a gift in the 1970s. Loved it, it was sunshine yellow with a black case. It was orginally kondo'd years ago and came to light in an earlier sort of the Bedroom Cupboard of Doom, not the one I did earlier this year. Challenged Mum about how it was still on the premises when we'd arranged to donate it to a chazzer and she admitted she'd deliberately not done it, it wasn't an oversight.

I made sure that I got it to the chazzer myself. She hasn't noticed Teeny Tiny Tears has gone - she is with someone's grand-daughter, which is the best place for a dolly to be, don't you think?

Righty, off to do some Stuff and then - ta dah! - I am being allowed into the High Rise Yarn Store (the loft, to youse) to see if I can find some rug-approrpiate wool. Yippee!

I have made yet another phone call to try to get the skip removed after building work. The living room and hall have boxes that need to be squashed and put in recycling and a new floor lamp needs assembling. After that I should be able to do some hoovering of polystyrene bits, dusting and tidying.

I have managed to sort out the cleaning materials, laundry and dish liquids and toiletries so I can find things and they are out of sight in the integral garage.

Yesterday I not only found DS1's pram receipt (kept :o) but newspapers from the days after the Twin Towers disaster. They have now been binned, as there are any number on the Bay. Also recycled were most of my 40th birthday cards (except those from my late mum & DH), and the Thos.Cook, Debs & JL gift folders from our wedding.

I also KMd my summer clothes before they are put away, the unflattering & unworn are now ready for the CS, along with a pile of books.

I've also got a large heap of religious tights, natural & black opaques, which I'd been keeping to stuff draught excluders with... I haven't started those in 3 years so they can all go too!

:) We just paused for a cuppa and Dad came back from the pharmacy with their scripts, I did a bit of kondo-organising of the meds and then Mum went to put the scripts themselves on the kitchen noticeboard which lives on the inside of the pantry door.

She found a receipt from 16 years ago for the washing-machine before the one they have now. Which they've had about two years.

    Will shortly be heading loft-wards.:D

    Morning!

I'd love to join this thread - I read the book earlier in the year (when we started looking to buy a house) and I managed to remove an extortionate amount of things before we moved! I managed to go through my childhood boxes in my mums garage and get it down from 20 boxes to 3!

:) Hello Tia_24, good luck with the boxes. A good tip is to photograph some sentimental items, or perhaps make a display of the best examples of childhood collections, collage things etc, if you really cannot bear to part with all of them.

Just taking five after being in the loft. Very hot and humid today, not ideal loft-weather. Parked Mum (it's her loft but age and disability means she can't access it) on a stool near the ladder and consulted with her through the hatch.

I was a little annoyed that a late Spring purchase of a huge TV and related peripherals (at least two boxes are 4-5 ft long ) undid some of last September's lovely loft re-organisation, but she won't entertain getting rid of these mega-boxes until items are one year old. Dad asked this morning and they definately can't go.

I had to chuck these monstrosities aside to get at the target - the Yarn. Went through a box of odds & sods, some of which are stray unused balls and some of which are pulled out from previous jumpers. Have the equivalent of a large bagful for my WIP rug. Also pulled out a cone of DK in black for Mum's next knitting project.

Also dound a big foam chunk, obviously a seat pad from a long-departed sofa or armchair, which is now binned as the foam was very degraded. Found three unused seat pads which Mum has no recollection of purchasing which are now downstairs on the kitchen chairs.

A few other bits of Misc are going freegle-wards next week. I shan't describe them as they're very identifiable and will be on a large freegle group's site. They are a small proportion of a larger category but I don't want to swamp the freegle-sphere.:p

All in all, a pretty productive few minutes, drop in the ocean compared to the amount of Stuff in that loft, which is a fraction of the amount of Stuff rammed into this small three bedroom terrace, but every little bit donated, re-homed, re-used or just gone is all to the good.

:o I didn't find any dead birds, wasp nests or spiders up there and nothing particularly comedic happened either. I know, I know, must do better next time.:rotfl:

:p Strange although it may seem, there are occasionally several hours at a stretch in my world where nothing particlulary silly or bizarre befalls me.

I did nearly walk into a 4 ft wide cobweb which an outdoor spider had spun in the front garden, when on my way to the landfill bin with the cushion pad. Fortunately I saw it in time or I would presently be wearing a spider!

Luncheon is about to happen. Tuna cans are being opened. Wild Thing is downstairs yowling with excitement. Catching a bus to another town at 1 pm to visit with Nan in hospital, which is this afternoon spoken-for, so no more kondo-stories for you.:rotfl:

:) Morning all, and hello and welcome to mrs_Badger (any relation to MSE Badger, by any chance ? ;))

    Nope.

I have began to realise that my flat still needs quite a bit of work, the bookcase is an ongoing thing as we borrow books, buy them second hand, as well as new. We have one bookcase and the rule has always been - when we are running out of space, time to get rid of some. Saying that, it is never actually full, we're both pretty good at getting rid of things we won't reread.

I have an ongoing carrier bag for the charity shop and make a trip about once a week or two - where does the stuff come from? :o
