Morning kondoers
GQ enjoy your day out.
Hope everyone is well.
Started putting bedroom back together last night, it's looking good. Busy all day today so that will have to resume later. Goal is to have it all done by the weekend.
Mins game day 14
4 binbags full of old dead carpet.
Pair children's Wellington boots - CS
2 old used and now slightly tatty paintbrushes - binned
Paint by number oil painting - I did it years ago, enjoyed doing it but don't want to look at it everyday. Binned
Old store card that was used as a polyfilla applier - binned
Various assorted paper clips - binned
Black jacket a friend gave me 10 years ago - CS
Pair trousers, bought at carboot and worn once as colour looks wrong on me - CS
T shirt - CS
Shower cap, from a Christmas gift set. I never wear shower caps - CS
Various batteries round up during bedroom move round - recycled
Couple of small bottles of different bubble baths decanted into one big bottle - bottles recycled
Handful of assorted carp that was gathered up during bedroom move round - binned
All packaging from new wardrobe storage system - recycled
Yes I know you aren't supposed to buy new storage but the rails in our wardrobe were all a mismatch and over 30 years old. We've had a move round and with the new system the ottoman fits in there behind the sliding doors so it tidies it away and will give us more space and look tidier in the room once the doors are rehung.
Have a joyful day all.SPC~12 ot 124

When they stopped being over a tenner each? The last secondhand DVD movie I bought cost 25p. Our library will hire them out for a week for £1.50, so I mostly wait and buy a secondhand copy, there are lots of chazzers here which sell them for £1 or so.
It's funny, we were laughing the other day about the 'olden days' when you went to Blockbuster to get your video to watch. My kids find it hard to visualise a time of Black and White tellies and you had to get up to change channels and there were only three channels and it went off at midnight... :rotfl:
In these days of Netflicks and so on, I wonder if the DVD industry will also be obsolete? We hold very few DVDs here - and they are nearly all the kids'.
OH has gone on his holibobs (with the lads) for 12 days - I can have a good sort out and tidy. I may hide some of his stuff and see if he notices:rotfl:
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Morning all
Wow I am so impressed with everyones efforts puts mine to shame
But I dont care I am 'just doing it now' :rotfl:I am having a lovely time doing what I want and when I want as once the weather changes I can spend more time doing 'stuff' indoors but until then ...............I am doing what I find joyful
All the kittens met me at the gate this morning waiting for their breakfast. Then its a mad dash back to the food area and yes they all beat me back with mad antics on the way.Lola just sits watching with a bored look on her face
Didnt see Lolly this morning so she was enjoying her self somewhere but I am sure will be back for her breakfast soon.
28 empty cans of catfood washed and squashed and in recycling which is collected today. That is just a weeks worth
Spoke to the vets yesterday and they want to leave 'the op' another 4 weeks as I think they are now 16 weeks old but they like to leave the boys until they are 20 weeks so as I dont know what these lot are they will all go in mid October.
Had some thoughts on the nice laundry basket at Dads and think it will be perfect to keep handbags etc in so then a plastic storage box can be kondoed.
GQ I am another one that cleans and scrubs the shower while I am in it
Enjoy your day everyone

Crazy Clothes challenge £300/£48 and 5 months /0 without spending :T0 -
Lovely to keep reading everyone's successes.
Mins game was interrupted again due to rellie being rushed to hospital in a distant town so had to dash off for a few days. Rellie will be OK, it will just take time so more going up and down the road to come.
Was able to pack a bag in a hurry due to Kondo folded drawers etc. Nearly didn't wear a top because I needed to 'save it for Bessie', but realised what I was telling myself and wore it anyway.
Have decided for Mins that will carry on as best I can to get rid of 465 items over the next 2 weeks. Have started with 15 old emails deleted so only 450 to go now!
Was looking at budgets yesterday evening and decided to lower clothing from £40 a month to £10 a month. So £120 a year should be enough to keep on top of replacing undies etc. Will need to buy t-shirts for next summer as don't have any decent ones which has made things a little interesting this summer but won't be buying any yet as there's no room to store them.
The extra £30 a month saved on clothes will go into the fun/holidays budget.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Min's game day 14 (thought it was 15th so I have done 15 of everything
)
Things
15 bills paid over a year ago and kept were shredded (I think the shredder is giving up the ghost at the moment )
Photos
3 hideous ones of me on holidays. What was i thinking with that hair do?
3 duplicates of scenery
9 random scenery shots that are too dark or just plain boring.
There are loads of random scenery, but I think at some point OH and i need to go through the albums and decide what to keep. he will want to keep loads ("I liked that rock" etc....) so i am picking out the low hanging stuff...
out early tomorrow, all day. So i will do tomorrows <<ahem>> 14 later... :rotfl:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Decided to go to the local bank office this morning, as I had spotted on a tiny message they sent me (just a line in my monthly bank account overview), that my insurance had gone up, but it said 'not insured' after several items I was sure were insured.
Really not happy with this bank, trying to screw us all the time. (They managed to lose our mortgage paperwork three times, even when we put it in the branch's letterbox and dh took a picture of me doing it!). The account is supposedly free, but they manage to find costs for €45 every year, e.g. my dh's card is complementay, but they charge for it every year, I chase them, it takes about five months to get the money back. It is only €5, but if they do it every year to every client.......
I'm glad I took the step to go to the bank, as I accidentally discovered that our monthly payments are €25 more expensive than a one-off annual payment would be, which they promised us would not be the case when we signed six years ago!Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Siebrie good spot!
Am taking the opportunity to go through my boxes of "stuff"... I found the receipt from the pram my parents bought in 1986 - £183.65 for a Marmet coach-built pram, mattress and shopping tray. Similar pre-loved ones are going for £400+ online!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Trying as best I can to keep up with the mins game!
DH dropped his phone yesterday and the screen doesn't work now so this morning I started to sort out one of the old phones to use short term which resulted in:
5 x Leaflets, 2 reminder letter and the box our old defunct satnav came in recycled.
I bike manual going to DS
1 bike manual plus spanners going to friend who bought the bike from us!!
A phone 'tapper' that had lost the rubber tip - binned
Umpteen receipts from bag & purse in recycle bin
3 old boxes and instructions for mobile phones we no longer have
Box for my tablet and box for my fitness tracker - recycled
3 x top up phone cards in the bin
Did manage to charge up his VERY old Nokia (his favorite) & it seems OK so far!
I've also made the suggestion that we sell the garden shredder that we havn't used for about 5 years and a lawn spreader - no adverse reaction so they'll go on Streetlife to begin with - fingers crossed
Have a good day all & hope you get to enjoy this lovely weatherSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Mins game update: 25 old emails read and deleted, 1 plastic lid recycled.
424 more items to be kondoed.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Hiya, popping out of lurking. I've been offline for a couple of days because of a snafu by internet service providers - old one cut off service Monday, new one just connected. Anyway because I couldn't use online I decided to have a look at my photos. I had thousands of them! Inspection revealed most were DH work photos, he retired in 2012. He agreed they weren't needed so I deleted whole folders, my recycling box had over 13,500 items in it:eek:. There are still thousands on his computer and on tablets, but at least a start has been made (plus all the non-digital). I may suggest just binning those without looking, although I would actually like to find my wedding photos (black and white, 40 years ago, and still no wedding album).
Back to lurkdom, keep going girls, I need your adventures to keep me going. By the way if anyone wants to kondo some sunshine, send it over, I'll send some rain in return.0
