KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Bless me Kondoers, for I have sinned. I confess to not having completed the departure of anything from my home for some weeks, and indeed brought things in
However on Friday 3 tiers of wedding cake & 27 dessert cakes left, along with 144 bottles of red & white wine, 600 white, milk & dark chocolate truffles with 180 chocolate ducks, and 137 tissue paper flowers! Admittedly some things came home again after DS2's wonderful wedding, but they have all been put into their rightful places
Oh, and we took delivery of our new dining table too
Please grant forgiveness and tell me what is my penance?!
I find myself suddenly wanting a chocolate duck...
Sounds like a wonderful wedding and congratulations to the happy couple.
No penance, how can there be penance for activities that brought such joy?“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Thank you all, I've done all the right things in the rest of the flat - so a dehumidifier it might need to be now.
Floss, I will ask him to contribute certainly. Sadly I think he's a lost cause when it comes to laundry, I'm doing well to train him up to recycle! There's some memory impermanents so he gets lots of leeway
However I'm taking this as motivation to rekondo the wardrobes and storage. Have mostly compacted things down - only am hours sleep overnight so trying to not overdo things:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Also, the wedding items sound amazing - def no penance needed!:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0

Hope you feel better soon, Dragonette, you need to take it easy to recover.
My sympathies re the mould. Coincidentally, I have this morning taken delivery of a mould treatment spray specially for the shower - last week I discovered some little areas developing in there and have begun the spraying already, you have to leave it on for half an hour so I hope it works.
I can see I will have to be more scrupulous about drying the shower cubicle daily after use.
I also found a little under the washing machine drawer when I took it out to wash, so that got a good scrub and I let it fully dry out before replacing it. Thankfully there is none anywhere else that I can see. This summer I have had my main windows open 24/7 since about May.
Hope you can resolve yours soon.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
Quick update to say very happy with results so far.
I used this:
http://www.lakeland.co.uk/20284/HG-Mould-Remover
50p cheaper on the Bay inc delivery.
ETA Looks like it can be used on more than the shower acc to description:- Makes black spot mould disappear.
- No scrubbing required.
- For bathroom and kitchen.
- Treats UPVC, tiles, grouting, silicone sealers, walls and ceilings, garden pots.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hi everyone
Very hot day here, so not much gets done - what an excuse to catch up with reading matter!
So pleased with the results of charity 'door collection', 3 bags full of clutter went. I had thought I had pretty well done in a few areas - bedding, underwear, shoes, komono items and general grubble, but obviously not. And a few more items have now come to mind, so even more to get rid of. Yet to really start the photos!
Another CS bag ready. As has been said, it certainly changes the mindset, and you never really finish.
But what a joyful feeling.

Afternoon...Am doing my AWOL tricks again. I think that it is MO now.
I have been reading when I can, congrats to all that are getting rid of stuff and not letting non-joyful stuff in.
Hello to all newbies:wave:
On holiday this week, so had a bit of a clear out on Sunday from the house and the loft. Three bags of stuff has gone to a local CS, which includes are my Indian outfits that I am too old for...they should make someone happy, as long as they are petite in size...! Books, clothes and bits of jewellery and hair accessories gone too. Quite amusing that when I arrived at the CS, I got a long list of items that they don't take and that they also don't too gift aid as it is too complicated for them. Might be the last time that I take things to them.
Had clear out of duvet covers & pillow cases - I wonder how we ended up with single duvet covers when there isn't a single bed duvet cover in the house at all. Very weird. Anyhow, went through all the valences, bed sheets and duvet covers and have sorted everything that we are going to keep as a single spare to the ones being currently used and the rest are going to another local charity. This will go tomorrow when I go for a walk in the morning before it gets too hot.
Three loads of washing done - all bed sheets, pillow cases and clothes, as it is a lovely hot day here and they will now go straight back onto their respective beds and wardrobes.
From the loft, one breadmaker (not used) bought down, will go to friend's aunt who wants to start making bread of her son, who as allergies galore. Am hoping that it still works - don't want any money for it. An old suitcase that was broken was left outside the house and was picked up very quickly. A few items (broken) will be put on streetlife and freecycle for spares tomorrow.
Back to studying...too hot for me to be outside with DH. We have worked out now that in this heat, there is no point in going out as it completely debilitates him.
Hope everyone has a good rest of day....
