Nothing KM'd except some scrap wood and confidential paper waste burned in the chiminea - made DS1 very happy for an hour or so whilst he was doing it!
Some spare cleaning stuff put aside for DD to take to uni next week.

Great job Igamogam sounds like a very big but rewarding job and GQ for saving the basket.
Talking laundry baskets found a lovely one in Dads narnia kitchen walk in cupboard. Really big with screwed up plastic carrier bags on.Looked in it and its empty its a really nice quality. Asked Dad what its for and he said he didnt know it was there. I am going to try and find a use for this as I really like it.I am thinking it will fit in the bottom of my wardrobe for handbags, etc rather than them being on the high shelf in the wardrobe so we will seeAlso got rid of a metal free standing rusty towel rail which was always in the way.Said to Dad do you need this answer was no I only have my BEST tea towels on it. That Sue got me in OZ 4 years ago :rotfl:So they are now in service and the tatty ones cut up for cloths so I am getting there with Dad
Mrs MP I didnt see any fish in there but didnt really look. Next time I will ask him where they are. 40s weekend next weekend have friends coming up so am looking forward to dancing the night away on the stationShame you couldnt come this year.

Evening all.
Must be something in the water, all these linen baskets suddenly appearing.
I am at the parental homestead, taking refuge from the Proms by kondo folding several drawerfuls of clothing in the back bedroom. Kid Bruv's clothing lives in this large COD (he knows I'm doing it and is happy to leave me in charge, I've got him well trained, lol).
Total mare's nest of clothing all jumbled together. Can't get my head around living with all types of clothing squashed up in the one drawer, which is too stuffed to shut. In practise, only the toppermost layer gets used, as it's the only one reachable without effort. And then this layer gets stuffed back in after washday.
Kid Bruv stuck his head around the door a few mins ago, I pointed out a brand-new (with tags!) long-sleeved polo. Kid Bruv doesn't do clothes shopping, has no idea where this thing came from but agrees it's quite nice and he will definately wear it in the cooler weather.
Meanwhile, there are several things which appear to be on their last threads, but they're not mine to turn into dusters, so they will stay here until they actually develop huge holes and then they'll go for ragging.:o I know it's traditional for us ladies to have far more clothes than the fellers, but he's got far more clothes than I have, and I'm glad I''m not responsible for all this Stuff.
Righty, have had my breather, must carry on folding. Bliss.:DEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Haha - I have that problem every day, its like a new form of OCD. :rotfl:Simplify and then Simplify some more!0 -
Teabayed furniture has gone - and it sold for considerably more than I was expecting! I was pleasantly surprised. Friend's husband helped to deliver it (for a delivery fee from the buyer) but car trouble meant we spent an hour waiting for a mechanic and then another hour waiting for the tow truck. Not the most ideal but thankfully covered by my breakdown cover. Thankfully bed had already been delivered. Hoping it won't cost them too much to fix the car. My paranoid mind was saying "this is all your fault - it happened when they were helping you out". I'm excellent at worrying and feeling guilty in these sort of situations
.
I have had to tell myself it would have happened to the car when it was started on that 'turn'.
Was good to get home and put feet up. We weren't in a particularly nice area at the time! First ever journey in a tow truck - I'm easily entertained!
Next job is to clear other furniture from that room and get it decorated. Will get on with that tomorrow - not doing it now!
Looking forward to having a tranquil space when that room is done - should cause a domino effect upon other parts of the house to become more in line with my vision."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

Have Kondoed my bedside cabinet which I know is not a category but I'm very pleased with the results.
The clothes have been dropped at the charity shop, I've got so few now I need to make sure that I keep on top of the laundry. I'm reluctant to buy anymore as I'm working at dropping another dress size.
Have been to visit mum and dad and have come away with a gardening book and a sewing one and a very full bag of gardening magazines courtesy of my God mother. The gardening book will go to the charity shop but I will read through the sewing one. I'll flick through the magazine's and then take them into work as someone there collects magazines for the waiting rooms at the local hospital.
Off to see MIL tomorrow. DH is going to see if she will let him sort out anymore of her paperwork. He's topped the Valentine's card from 1958 with one of her school reports from 1944, she's 85 now.0 -

I'm a great believer in things happening for a reason and in things turning out for the best. It was probably better for it to happen in this situation where there was time and opportunity to resolve it, than on a workday with tight and demanding schedules causing added stress, or on a long motorway trip, for example.
Last winter DD took me on a 300 mile round trip journey to a funeral. Next morning her car just wouldn't start. Both of us were grateful for the timing - otherwise we could have been stranded in the wilds in most adverse conditions.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

I have noticed that I have begun to scrutinise 'incomings' - items that actually cross my threshold.... on the basis that if I don't let them in, I haven't got to figure out how to kondo them.:D

What a good idea! Years ago I made a montage of photos, in a very large picture frame, of the children when they were small. Hangs in the downstairs loo - everybody comments and spends extra time in there commenting:D Maybe I will do an updated version - winter job methinks;)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I am just beginning my Kondo journey and have a question about my clothes.
I'm a size 22 but currently losing weight, once I reach my goal next year, I will be a 14/16. I have a lot of lovely clothes that are currently too small but will eventually fit, and I'm not sure what to do with them.
Do I leave them out so I can try them on every so often? Do I put them in a box so they aren't cluttering up the closet? I think if they are all out, the closet will be too full.
Do you lovely people have any advice for me? I'm sure I am not the only one in this situation.:happylove0
