Doing mins game day 10 incase I don't get time to post tomorrow
A bag full of hair, to explain dd2 had long hair and when she was 17 decided to have it cut really short. I kept the pony tail that was lobbed off. 10 years later she has really long hair again and is going this weekend to have it lobbed again but this time it's being Kondoed for a really worthwhile reason she is having it donated to a charity that makes wigs for children who are having chemo. I told her I still had her hair but it needs to be freshly cut to work as a human hair wig. It is time for me to let this go.
A film canister full of assorted milk teeth the tooth fairy left here. I don't know which child the teeth belong to now as they are all mixed up and are so old they a crumbling. If in years time the kids had to go through my stuff the fact I've got hair and teeth stashed in my bedside drawers seems decidedly creepy.
These items have been thanked for the memories and released.
Masquerade mask - CS bag
Assorted shopping receipts - shredded and recycled
A wad of hole in the wall receipts - shredded and recycled
Various raffle tickets that were collected over the summer - recycled
Out of date Mocs and sto card offer coupons - recycled
Dress belt that's I've never worn - binned
Old tablet bottle - recycled
odd large dangly earring - binned
This is all from one bedside cabinet I've obviously fallen into a bad habit of emptying my handbag/purse out into here, it must stop! The drawer is not a bin.
Mins game day 11. (Sunday)
Old tatty blusher brush kept for Justin as I have a new one
Old lip brush same as above
Eyelash comb! Why? I have never in 50+ years felt the need to comb my lashes!
Small tarnished Christmas decoration in shape of a bell
Tarnished mood ring
Two sew on patches from when children were younger that never actually got sewn on anything
Selection of pins from when Dh last had a brand new shirt that was pinned into its packaging - now slightly tarnished
Various slightly rusting sewing needles- why are they even in the bedroom
Cerise pink lip liner pencil - I don't wear that colour anymore
Scratchy eye liner pencil - I value my eyes too much to even bother risking using it again.SPC~12 ot 124

Morning all
What fantastic weather we are having hope you are all having the same.
Yesterday we were going to spend the afternoon gardening but as normal decided to make the most of the Sun and went for a walk along the beach and then back along the cliff tops stopping for a lovely coffee 'at for Mrs MP The funky Mack' halfway. Then I decided to walk home from there while DH drove back to feed the cats kittens dog etc. So ended up doing 7 miles and enjoyed every second of it.The last 1.5 miles is all up hill as we are the highest point in Norfolk cant get away from it really.:rotfl:
So we shall see what today brings but can you can be assured I will be making the most of it and suggest you do the same even if its to take 10 mins out and just enjoy whatever brings you joy
Some great kondoing going on and I feel I am still reaping the rewards of going hell for leather for a weeks a few years ago
It was worth the blood sweat and tears.Soul searching and getting to the bottom of a' few' issues (understatment of the year) as it has paid off in big style.Thank you konmarie and everyone here that share your journey.:TStay on board the train as it works it works it bl**dy well works

Thanks Mavvy, I can picture it perfectly. Did they put the decorated fish up there that we made for carnival week? I took one in and saw lots in a box but wasn't sure what the plan was for them. I think they we going to be used for some form of yarn bombing on sheringham.
Still wading through bedside drawers, which have obviously escaped every previous wave of kondoingSPC~12 ot 124

Thread moves sooooo quickly dont think I can catch up with everything!
I spent yesterday having a KM day at work I'm in the driving seat at the moment so I took the decision to have a proper clear out - before the hols we had acquired a great deal of stuff rescued from skips from a similar establishment that was moving premises and it had all been dumped in a large room 'to be sorted on our return'. We are talking sofa, fridges cupboards, tables, shelving. 8 mop buckets 6 ordinary buckets hardly used, 3 brand new swing bins, lots of kitchen items, office stationary, craft materials, books, 4 very large very expensive rugs, toys, toys and more toys, lots of fabric and 12 children's expensive waterproof all in one togs............and the list goes onThink the enthusiasm from colleagues had waned and their reaction to it all was to - just put it in the skip  but I reminded them of the first thing that was discussed at a group meeting - how are we going to save £100K this year - I so wanted to say well stop allowing the wanton dumping of stuff and giving money to replace it all just because of a move into a brand new build  ................not here to rant so I will cut to the chase - me and a colleague spent all day sorting it all - some has been given to other settings. The 2 fridges we decided had to go to recycle centre along with a rug. Other rugs have been cleaned and are now in situ. Office stuff put away in the right place, things have been washed and stored away and room is actually clear. Everything will be used and in the long run will save us some money! What has gone into the skip is a very small bin bag thus saving us the cost of its disposal ( permanent skip for general non recyclable stuff which is emptied when full) Anything that could be recycled has been. Mop buckets and bins distributed - oh yeah those skeptics all of a sudden wouldn't pass up on a free mop bucket etc :rotfl:...................and I filled my car with some general stuff to go to charity shop/recycle centre. So today I have to get all that done - its all out in the garden at the moment with a tarp over it cos its just started raining - its not coming in the house and it hasnt gone into landfill :T
Hoping to add some stuff from the house too when I go to CS and recycle centre tomorrowBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Wow, Igamogam, that's some stuff sorted in a day! Well done, and particularly nice when others benefit from the discards.
I saw an office being emptied the other day, looked like an office clearance company was having the lot, there was certainly some shifting going on!
Off to DD's in a while, where there will certainly be loads to help on its way, she just had a new kitchen and last time she had a big job done the freecyclers came out in force to collect the unwanted items so this time should see them looking very happy! It's gone from an empty garage to a garage with a palleted kitchen in it, to a garage with all the unwanted in it and I know that having loved it when it was empty and clean and clear, she'll want to get it back to that state asap.
Just normal recycling going out from mine today, though I have listed some bits on the Bay from the hall heap. And the only incoming items this week have been groceries and library books, a win in itself.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Well I surprised myself this morning. Was puttting away the clothes I kondo'd last week, into 3 empty drawers, and, you guessed it, I released some more!
So, thanked and gone are;
4 tops,
1 jumper,
1 pair walking trousers,
1 pair socks (gone all religious).
Also, 4 re-useable carriers into correct home,
bag of single bedding (for use on the extremely rare occasions when mum visits), relocated to be out of the way! Not easy in a 2 up/ 2 down with little storage space :rotfl:
Remembered, at last, to dye my trousers back to black (faded and bleach splashed), they came out perfectly.
Have 3 loads of washing drying, incl above trousers.
Having quick low carb lunch, celebrating another 1lb loss, at last!! Feels more than that, if you know what I mean:eek:
Some great posts, thanks All.

Well done igamogam well done on kondoing stuff to new homes instead of the landfill.
Everyone sounds really productive and it sounds as if we are all achieving a great deal in our mission to be happy with less.
Just going to hang some washing out (with double pegs in the hope it stays on the line) then I'm going to alter a pair of curtains I think they will look better than the ones that are currently up in our room now the colour has been changed.SPC~12 ot 124
