    :o Evening all.

It was all going so well, really. There I was, getting ready to leave the flat tomorrow for several days, eating random food and taking out the rubbish when I lifted the lid on the big communal skip bin and found someone had dumped a lovely ali baba wicker laundry basket in there.

What can an enthusiastic practitioner of anti-waste do? The chazzers are closed for the night and I am off first thing tomorrow. I hoiked it outta there (perfect nick and perfectly clean) and have stashed it in my bike shed until next week. I don't have space for it myself or I'd keep it, but will be taking it to the chazzer next weekend, should be good for a fiver of anyone's money, plus the extra 25% gift aid. Must be some folks around here with more money than sense.

MinsGame Day 9; one doll, to a colleague for their child, a 1979 diary, a worn-too-short pencil (binned), a dying fibretip pen, a purse to go back to the folks, a book, olive oil bottle (recycled), two fruit punnets (recycled).

  • Well, I went to DD's and the main job was sorting rubbish destined for general bin, soon sorted that into recyclable and non-recyclable, plus got first dibs on a box of unwanteds, so brought 3 items home, one of which is already listed on the Bay to see what happens. The rest of the box will be rehomed at a c/shop and - joy of joys - will depart from there so it hasn't had to come home with me first to be 'rescued' from landfill!

Of the other two things I brought home, one is a keeper and the other one is a kitchen item which doesn't suit mine when in situ, so it will go to c/shop as and when. So incomings = 3-2, that's assuming one sells, if not it will join the other at the c/shop.

I think I'm allowed a single item in after all that's departed from here recently!

I took a pile of DVDs to the CS today, and came home with a play tent and tunnel!

BUT, they are not for me ... going to local toddler group next week!

    Evening folks.

Ended up working from 7.30 am until 6.45 pm. Forgot that I was going out with a friend tonight so it was a case of get home eat tea and pick her up by 7.30. Needless to say no Kondoing at home today but did kondo my set of drawers at work throughout the day.

Will be taking the clothes I sorted out this week to the CS tomorrow so that will be another bag out of the house.

DH is still ploughing through the paperwork from MIL's. The oldest find today was one of her school reports from 1943.

    Mins game for yesterday:
    2 x Fleeces to DS1
About a dozen cardboard boxes and 2 rolls of packing tape to a lady on Streetlife
2lb Apples, 1 Cucumber and some tomatoes to Next Door neighbour.

Thats all I managed before going out - when I got home my neighbour had sent round a carrier bag of books - all by my favorite authors and NONE of which I had read - Arrrggghhhhh. she has told me to pass them on when finished and we are off on holiday in a couple of weeks so will take a couple along with my kindle.
Another friend needs some cartons so I'm raiding the loft and hopefully will discover other things that can be got rid of. Fingers crossed.
Pouring with rain here - hoping it will ease off later as DH has booked to do a charity ride for the Essex Air Ambulance on Sunday & he's riding up to stay with family today & doesn't want to get all that chrome wet lol!

I should go out and buy parcel tape so I can start packing up the kitchen (boxes are currently flat) but it's so wet I don't even want to set a toenail outside the door. So I might give myself a pedicure and do my tax return instead...

I kondoed my freezer this morning - I've tossed the freezer-burned old veggies and odd bits of meat buried at the bottom, sorted the drawers by category and made it easy to find and pull out everything I'll need.

  • Hi everyone

Some fantastic KMing going on, well done. I keep reading and plugging away.

Its pouring here, just when I wanted to do some 'outside' clearing of weeds, etc.

However, as an charity bag has come through the door, some sorting has gone on, and might even get to fill two! - a large 'eiderdown' ( ex MIL's); several knickers and bra - uncomfortable to wear; some tights - don't seem to wear them any longer; 3 x mugs; 3 x wood 'platters' - maybe for raffle prizes?

Kondoed 4 bin bags to CS this morning. 4 drawer metal filing cabinet emptied - some stuff set aside for next CS run or recycled - cabinet to be collected by a freegler. Hopefully today as it is standing in garden and I doubt the weather will hold! large bag of fabric and some plastic storage boxes also going via fr**cycle - some of that came from work with me. Going to sell some stuff via FB and Eb*y - promised myself I would list 25 items!!

  • Hello Kondo-ites

Not posted on this thread and indeed my posting history shows my last post was on the first Kon-Marie thread back in December. I was saying then I'd paused as I had to do paper and couldn't face it.

While I've not been posting I've been lurking on this thread recently and have really enjoyed reading about everyone's battle against stuff.

And I did tackle paper in the end. Was really ruthless with my stuff and household stuff and it is very well organised. Kids stuff I found harder to decide what might be needed particularly with medical related papers so kept probably too much but it is at least filed and put in box in the attic.

Next is photos. A massive plastic box of full of loose photos or photos in their paper pockets. Thousands of photos. And of course hundreds in different digital formats in different places - on memory cards and laptops. I lost some lovely photos of the kids when I dropped my phone in water so you'd think that would have prompted me to finally start this category but I'm still procrastinating.

Anyway I'm posting to both say hello rather just lurk and also to keep myself accountable to the photo task - I will do it by end November before the Christmas madness starts. And I know family and the kids would love photos albums for Christmas presents so I can kill two birds with one stone.
