It's very interesting about kondo affecting what you buy ... and the "its just okay" thing as well. I've got a t shirt that I love, with a Felix catfood logo on (used to have cats, the t shirts were free) but the neck hem always stretches above my collar bones, and I really, really hate that. So, enough. I've cut the logo bit out, I'm going to iron it and play about with scanning it in different ways, then throw it (its not fit for a charity shop). Just paying attention to what I've got, and what I'm doing, because I'm reading this thread, is really helping :)

OH has taken a load for the charity shop and some recycling for the tip - doesn't it feel so good when the carp actually leaves?

Moved a shelf in one of the kitchen cupboards to make things easier to reach and rotated tinned stock so I know which ones need using first. Kitchen looking much tidier but more cupboards to do as desperate to get things off the worktop and into cupboard homes.

Today's task is to clean some plastic pots to use as storage for cleaning sponges for bathroom and kitchen so they can be put away. Not much else will be done on Kondo front today as need to do some paperwork.

I've had a set of 3 pictures in my living room behind the sofa waiting to be put up for at least 3 years. I've decided that yes they are nice but I've lived without them being up for all this time and to be honest I really don't care about them that much so they are going to Cs and now I'm smiling. Isn't it funny how getting rid of stuff affects your mood.

Wow, very impressed, only ordered joyful bed linen from JL on Saturday afternoon, it's just arrived.

Will wait for OH to get home before opening it up.

We like the bed linen so that's currently going round in the machine to wash out the newness.

Now do we buy another set the same or something else to alternate with this set...

I was on the way home from work with radio 2 on and Aggie from Jim and Aggie was a guest on the radio. She was asked about tidying up, and her answer was to look around your homes and ask yourself do you need it, do you love it? She spoke about how much we have in our homes that we don't need, but it takes up space.
I arrived home and did not get to hearing all of the interview but it sounded more and more like an extract from the MK book.

Ah now Slinky, that's the tricky bit....can you find another design you love as much as this one? :D

Slinky - I now go for plain bedlinen in ivory for all our bedrooms! No faffing in trying to find the right matching sets cos they all match. I now also go for a better quality as that gives me deep Joy!

That's the thing isn't it! We have 2 identical sets we are replacing, but when we bought them 7.5 years ago it was difficult finding anything that would go with our white wood furniture, there was very little around at that time that was patterned but with a white background. Cream or ivory would look awful with it. Fortunately there's more choice at the moment. We don't want totally white though, for one thing our cat sleeps on the bed at times.....

I think we'll give the new set a couple of weeks and see how we feel about another design. There's another that's similar but different, but has possibly too much pink to go with our lilac walls, plus it has pink candy stripe on the back which OH isn't keen on.

    Decisions, decisions....
