I ate quite a bit of cake at two different venues on Sunday just past. And very nice it was, too. Weight's still coming off at a steady 1.5 lb a week, tho, so must be eating enough veggies.
Seriously, I get a lot of fun out of my occasional Saturday mornings in the junk shop, and regular cups of tea. The clutter there is so much superior to my regular clutter; marble busts, Napoleonic War bayonets, pith helmets, old uniforms, bits of crystals, all sorts of weirdnesses abound.
It's actually a substitute for not having easy access to the parental home to kondo there. I will be over there for August Bank Holiday weekend, tho. Might be a good time to get back into the workshop shed, now that the floor has been found. I feel more familiar with the contents, which gives me a starting point.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Dust you can autograph! Great skeins of cobwebs.
Actually, my shed is full of enormous spiders at this time of year, so much so that I daren't tidy, I just knock politely on the door and ask the spiders to pass the fork, the rake, the shears, whatever it is that I need.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Mils rubble is now in the skip, her garden recycling bin is full to the gills, still need to bring empty waterbutt round.
Ds2 has been Drs and had ingrown toenail Kondoed so is limping round.
Birds had Kondoed the contents of most of the feeders so all have been washed out refilled and the water in the baths and trays has been replaced with fresh.
Mils rusty old barrow is on our front in the hope a scrap man will want itSPC~12 ot 124

Am steadily kondoing weeds ... can't hack learning to build a bonfire before I retire, but I'll do it, by hook or by crook, later this year.Save2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
_pale_ I ended up feeling like the house wasn't my own - now I have sort of covers on the air bricks, and its working well so far against the big ones _pale_ I don't want to jinx it though
Have you tried conkers on your windowsills against the spiders, Kc? I personally like spiders and will happily pick up even the big ones which come in (although they can give a decent bite!) to put them outside (I used to 'rescue' some of the male managers at work years ago - one of my direct bosses used to get big spiders in his office every couple of days and he wouldn't go back in there until it was dealt with) My OH and children don't like them, though - so we've tried the conkers thing for the past couple of years and I'd say we certainly get far less than we used to - maybe it's just a coincidence, but we're keeping the conkers!

A very few thing today into the thrift center box>> grill pan and metal skimmer.
I'm still on a mission to use up the last contents of various bottles of vitamin supplements. I just finished the hair & nail supplements and tossed that bottle into the plastic recycle bin. Next up is Biotin. Probably two weeks worth. I'm adding one supplement at a time to the dailies I do take... multi, Vit D3, calcium, complex B and sublingual B12. These were all recommended in strong terms by my doctor.
Still battling paperwork. Arrrg!!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Keep at it Mila, it'll be worth it in the end.
So, more shredding, recycling, filing (paper) and deleting (emails) yesterday although the filing is minimal thank goodness. Didn't make final decisions yesterday but made good progress and have some more researching to do today to take me closer.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
GreenT - I'm like you and like spiders ( have a darling little jumping one on the bedroom ceiling at the moment) but my DGD hates them and I managed to get her some conkers. She thought they worked too. Much nicer to repel them & not kill them. Only Kondoing so far this week seems to have been veg into the freezer and apples & plums to various neighbours a!though I did shred last years pay slips. This afternoon we're going to a BBQ with a steel band on the beach - am so looking forward to pretending I'm in the Caribbean!!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I have a spray repellent - to be honest, conkers, electronic sound repellents, they don't make much difference
they walk straight past  but the spray, as long as you tell them which direction to run by spraying from the right direction, they run like crazy, its a repellent, not a death spray, so its all good. The doubled extension hose (for reach) of the vacuum works well too, I take them into the copse over the road.
