Charly27 Why do they always do the roadworks at the busiest time of year ? They do that here as well must be Norfolk for you I suppose :rotfl:
Red Arrows were fantastic as ever watching from my garden so cant see all of the display just the higher stuff and when they break away and fly over here and rejoin the pack. But I have seen them so many times since I have lived in Norfolk anyway.

Been cleaning today all day :( Everything moved and scrubbed so feeling tired but back on track :D Cats and kits all fine and still eating me out of house and home bless 'em.

Well said Mav. Just got to get the books to CS today. I don't have the will to try and sell them. Just going to sing 'let it go' in my head! DD gets 'A' level results today:eek::eek:She has no plans to go to Uni so I just hope she's happy. My baby girl finished with formal education, how did that happen? Now to papers! Have a good day all.

Today I was forced to re-visit a tiny category - tea towels! This came about because I happened on 3 lovely tea towels that are perfect for my kitchen. I bought them, came home and released 4 from my neat basket full. I think that is allowed? :D

I have also pulled all mugs out of the cupboard and from mug tree and the 2 with no home at all, so we can finally kondo them properly. DH does not want to part with any, because they were, a) gifts, b) bought as souvenirs, or c) too good to throw out. We have 16 mugs. There are 2 of us and we rarely have more than 4 visitors at any one time.... I am minded to keep 4 Denby ones that match our crockery which we use every day. I also want to keep 2 very big mugs because they ensure I drink enough fluids each evening to keep properly hydrated! I would like DH to keep only 2 of his 'collection'. Wish me luck :)

I suspect I shall only be able to give you a mug update after the weekend because tackling this emotive subject will not be appropriate after a hard day at work :rotfl:
Oh these poor partners in our KM journey. DH is exactly the same, however, he no longer puts things away in my drawers as 'you do something funny with them ' so that's progress:rotfl:

As far as towels and teatowels go, one really good idea is what GQ said, about using one or two only, putting the rest by, and using that one or two to extinction. I only started three weeks ago :o as I'd been resolutely swapping everything out regularly, but this way, the pile will eventually diminish, and all will be well. I'm too OS, even though my main home on here was the DFW board, to do anything else :D

Um. I have about 20 mugs (can't be bothered to go and count) and there's just me. Some are large (first cup of tea of the day) some are medium sized and some are slightly smaller bone china (herb tea at bedtime). I do sometimes have six or seven visitors at a time, but also I like to fill the dishwasher before I run it - I re-use the same mug for tea but I often use three or four during a day - add a visitor or two and I soon get through them.

I have one of those 'first cup of tea of the day' mugs too. I usually say i have a bucket of tea first thing. When I travelled for work and was in hotels I had to have two :p the second one was never quite as nice

We have a range of mugs also, some bone china (for tea) the pot ones seem better for coffee. We have two 'life is good' ones, which are hugely chunky and i find they make me dribble :o so i don't use them. But they refuse to break and the kids like them, so i'm forced to keep them. I have 'builders' mugs - in use at the moment, cos we have builders. These are the ones that it doesn't matter if they break - except they don't seem to break.

I did better than kondo the stuff in the shed(s). We kondoed the whole sheds. Two of them, completely gone. Kondoed garage contents so the odd shed thing is in there now, though i am going to get an outside storage container when the builders have gone.

Towels I just use till they're threadbare, then cut them up for rags and loo cleaning cloths. They're just towels... Same for tea towels.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I have finally kondo'd a box of fabric strips in the 100 (gulp) blocks for the string quilt I'm making for my mother for Christmas - it is a simple strip design with no need for complex geometry or even much accuracy so right up my street. All it took was time and a devotion to getting tiny scraps of fabric off the carpet...... but it used up a whole pile of odds and ends of cotton fabric.

I sorted out my fabric stash and refilled the box with stuff for the next adventure - all I need to do now is sew 100 squares into 10 rows of 10.... eek!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

We bring the really old towels on holidays with us, as they tend to dry quickly. If really old, we may leave them behind.
Would you consider donating them to the local dog/cat shelter?
I've been kondoing weeds from the backyard, now need to get going on the drive. That sounds really posh, but it's just a pebbled-over front yard. We don't yet have the funds to do it up, and don't want to spend the funds on ordering more pebbles to suppress the weeds. The drive can hold four cars at a pinch, and does so about once a month. I would love for it to be our front yard and to hold some flowers, but will have to think carefully about which ones and where.

You probably know this technique but I thought I share just in case. :)

Had a lovely weekend over in Whitby with dh and dgs. The weather was good to us, arrived back about 4pm on Monday and sorted bag straight away put a wash on and got it almost dry left in conservatory on Tues whilst at work and put away when I got home.
Had dgs yesterday but cleaned spider poo from conservatory windows, then had to clean front door of garage as on Tues next door had pressure washed his drive and mud was splattered all over it and the bins  He came out as I was cleaning and apologised and got his hose out to rinse it down. I gave it a buff up and it's ok now! As the bucket was out I cleaned the facias and gutter around the front porch and the front window.

Also got light wash done and door mats. Today had to wash work stuff ready for next week as I'm off now till Monday :T:T
