Speky, the audiobook is on youtube (can't seem to post link for some reason). I searched "Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" and it was the first result.

I think I need to listen to it again to get my enthusiasm back. Taking it slowly is the only way I can go but the mess I am currently living in as a result of that is driving me nuts!

Siebrie, so sorry to hear about your bunny.

Been shredding more papers and preparing lots more for the shredder. Unfortunately it is too heavy for me to empty so have to persuade visitors to do it for me so it's a slow old job unless OH is here for the day.

Love hearing about bagloads of things leaving people's homes. It must be feeling so good. Keep going all. One day I'll get there too :rotfl:

I have stripped the beds after my weekend visitors and checked the sizes of the new mattress covers and sheets. They fit :)

So the old mattress covers are going to become dust sheets (they are ancient, and the elastic has gone) and as a result I don't feel a need to wash them. The new ones are in the machine/on the line. The new sheets are waiting to be washed. And the 4' sheets are cream. I'm fed up with having 2'6", 3'6" and 4'6" sheets all the same colour - I wasn't about to add another option! The 3'6" beds need new fitted sheets (now I've worked out what size fits them (one is a metric single, one a large single...) so need to think about how to distinguish those. Nametapes or laundry markers probably.

ETA - that's impressive Mrs MP. I bet you feel great... and shattered... and slightly confused ... and probably a whole lot of other things too.

Thank you greenbee what a brill idea, I don't want to buy new sheets yet but will laundry marker the sizes on my mostly white sheets so I know which bed they fit. The times we've spent fighting with a too small fitted sheet is ridiculous

One and half bags of vermiculite from the garage roof donated to the Aga people who came round to do a site survey today :) So there's nearly enough space in the garage roof for my DB's spare chairs...

:o Would it be bad to put it in the bin?

Next time you go to the recycle center put it in the 'rubble' skip. I have seen lots of broken ( and not broken ) crockery on ours - it all goes to make hardcore for roads etc I am told..............or is too late?:D

    ETA: oops! Too late ;)

DD makes bundles with hers after laundering. So a single duvet will be folded and teamed with a single sheet, then both will be put inside the pillowcase belonging to that duvet. Ditto the doubles/kings. So her linen cupboard contains tidy sets of bedding all neatly packed within the appropriate pillowcase. Makes choosing a set for changing a bed supremely easy.

I do the duvet case stored in a pillow case method so I suppose it would make sense to add the sheet inside the case as well. But I'll still be marking S D or K onto the corner of the sheets to make sorting after washing easier so thanks both.

I fold the appropriate fitted sheet into the middle of the folded duvet cover, along with the pillowcases - that way I just pick up one item from the airing cupboard and I'm good to go :D All of our spare bedding is stored this way. (We then have a couple of spare plain pillow cases and an extra fitted single sheet - pillow cases are good for sleepover guests of the children and the sheet may go with DD to uni if it is the correct size for student accom)
