We are on vacation and the person looking after our rabbit just called to say the rabbit has died. Judging by the state of the food bowl, iT died right after we left. IT was only 6 months old. The pet sitter will bury it in our garden.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

Yes cowbells was an autocorrect but I did find sleigh bells in the lounge cabinet. Ie leather straps with a row of 10 golfball sized bells fixed to them. The mind boggles sometimes. I mean why does she have it in the first place ( in being married to her son over 30 years and all the visits the 5 now grown up grandchildren made as excited about Christmas and generally liking music made to her house this has never been seen but when asked she said oh I've forgot that was there but I've it too long now to let it go!)
Hope everyone is well, go out there and find some joy it going to be a lovely day.:)SPC~12 ot 124

Oh Mrs MP I love that 'I've had it too long now to let it go'! Only because I've subconsciously used that as an excuse myself so many times. It becomes its own justification - I don't know why I've kept it, but if I've had it this long then it must be important.
Sorry to hear about the bunny, Siebrie. Hope your DDs won't be too upset.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
Errr, I've done that same thing, having owned something unused for years becomes justification for having it usused for more years.
Right now, I'm busily using up some toiletry items I don't particularly like. Promoters of the you're worth it school of thought would no doubt bray that I should chuck these out and get some stuff that I LOVE. But they're often advertising flacks, or magazine journalists writing thinly-disguised advertorial.
It's a real first world problem, isn't it, not liking a thing you already own as much a slightly-different version which you could own. So, I shall use things up, wash up their containers and recycle them and count myself fortunate that I have non-necessary Stuff at all.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Siebrie I'm so sorry to read about poor bunny.
I think hanging on to things for so long that you justify that as a reason for keeping them is one of the hardest mindsets to break when you start kondoing. We had every single book, painting photocopied printout etc the kids had ever bought home from school plus every card for every occasion ever delivered to this house in the attic. Apart from being a terrible fire hazard what use where they. I mentioned to dd1 who's 30 this year I'd found a bag full of her 18th birthday cards and did she want them. What earthly use are they now and what could I possibly do with them was her very sensible and minimalist response. I joked I could wait till she was 48 then doctor the 1 to make them suitable. She said she would be getting cards from people she's already lost touch with or are no longer here. She then said "I thanked whoever gave them to me at the time they don't need hanging on to any longer they say happy 18th and I'm 29 now so don't need them RECYCLE or burn them I don't have room for them in my house and neither do you because they aren't your memories they are bits of old card"
That was my last visit up to the attic, I found it so much easier this week to let our wedding and old valentines, birthday and anni cards go this time as they are not memories they are faded tatty old pieces of cardboard, the happy memories are stored in my heart.
I keep going outside looking at the huge pile of brown recycling bags waiting to go tomorrow and the thought of them gone is making me smile. I did think what a hazard it was to have all that paper and card piled up like that at the front of the house, but then thought, it was possibly even more dangerous inside the attic it just wasn't seen.SPC~12 ot 124

Had it too long now to let it go? Hmmm, I have picked up a few items and thought, I have had that ages and never used it. I then ask myself whether I truly think I ever will. If I think there is at best only a remote possibility, but no more than that, I am pretty rude and don't even thank it before putting in appropriate bag for release! Hope I haven't shocked anyone :rotfl:
Of course I say thank you to things I Have enjoyed receiving and using when the time comes to let them go (yep, special birthday cards, worn out clothing etc etc), and let them go with a smile
low carb update - feel like more weight has gone but not yet showing on the scales (no problem, I know the scales will catch up with reality in the next couple of days!!). I read on another MSE forum that Lidl sell fresh bread rolls that are high protein, low carb - loads of linseed, sesame and sunflower seeds, some oats and a litle wheat protein. We don't have Lidl near us but there is one near our present holiday accommodation. Soooo, yesterday we bought 2 of said rolls to try. Apparently they are less than 11 carbs each but believe me they
are large and so half was enough for me. Yummy toasted with cheese one!
Have a lovely day Everyone,

I've to go to the library this afternoon and if not there I'll give up and start by looking at the youtube videos, thank you Mila.
Totally love the idea of this and I can imagine it'll not only free up space in the house, but the mind too.
Watch this space as I'll soon be on this thread a lot more often0 -
