KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Morning all
Thank you for all your comments about the great total made at the fete we have had the final count yesterday and its all been double and triple checked as I thought I was wrong
The final total is £2900 :eek:
I did spend all day saying 'I am never ever doing this again' But who knows maybe I will
We have smashed all records but it was bl**dy such hard work but worth it really.
Met some lovely people and was very surprised at others who mucked in and just did what ever they had to.
I had a few coments of how I had managed to bring the community together which no one had ever been able to do. :)Which was what I wanted to do.
The Vicar came and said to me right where do you want me he had never worked at an event before and collected cups and cleared tables for 3 solid hoursand to be honest worked like a trouper (which I am sure will get him lots of Brownie points )
So I am jumping back on the train today and moving forward
A van load of 'stuff' is being picked up by the lady who runs the charity I was telling you about for her 'Customers' :T
The shed is cleared in true KM style and has never been so clear and ordered ever.
Nothing is being kept its all been donated whats the point of it dying in storage until the Easter event
Let it help someone else. I have gone though the clothes and she has been given 7 full bin bags of that as well and I need to keep moving the clothes on as nobody will want to keep looking at the same old stuff
We took £500  on clothes at the fete which is an amazing total.I knew this would be a money spinner but even I didnt think I would have created this monster
Lolly ,Lola and Kits are all doing well so all is good in the Mav household.
And the very best news of all is my bestest friend in the world HAS SOLD HER HOUSE:D:D:D to a first time buyer so will be on her way to Sheringham soon so the house hunt is back on

Three Cheers Mavvy - so much money raised, needy people helped and the community coming together AND stuff used instead of being thrown away. Bet you will do it againSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I just put the amount of pounds of overweight I'm carrying into a calculator and multiplied it by the 3,500 calories which are apparently stored in one pound of human fat.I have 147,000 spare calories in storage. I think I'm safe to fast until 7 am tomorrow.:rotfl:
Loving the bathroom colour talk. At one time I had three toilets, all different colours (too embarrassed to say what they were as I chose them) and am ashamed to say I used to buy three different coloured TP's so people could look in the trolley and admire my great wealth :o:rotfl:. Back to three toilets again and white paper only
.
Just returned from a round UK tour, staying at four different friends/rellies. So nice to end up at DD's place - she has KM'd her house and also rents out her spare room on AirBnB so whole house was decluttered and tidy - lovely and restful on the eyes :T. Don't recall her teenage bedroom ever looking like that :rotfl: - when her pet mouse escaped it took us hours to track it down amongst the cr*p.
While I was away my 'man who can' KM'd the defunct 4' Sky dish on my roof terrace - terrace was already large, now even bigger :T. Brought a lot of 'stuff' back from UK with me, currently girding my loins to start unpacking and putting away so I can get place back to its (alleged) normal tidy state :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

We never did find one hamster that escaped:o ours did it on a regular occurance and one actually got under the bath And into the space between the floor and ceiling, we had to take the panel off over the boiler and leave food for it to try and tempt him down. We hadn't seen or heard for a week or so when one night we heard scratting near the back door. Nothing was outside but close inspection revealed a little paw coming from under the skirting board. Little bookend had made it 3/4 of the way round the house via the cavity wall, Dh had to take the skirting off and slightly enlarge the hole in the concrete floor to allow it freedom. Kids couldn't believe it the next morning when I showed them who was back:T. I found one asleep in a patty tin in the oven I suspected sonething was going on when sunflower seeds started appearing in there so always had to check before I turned it on, it must have been sneaking in once it had cooled down but one morning I opened the door and caught him. It was like the manuel and the rat in the biscuit tin scene from faulty towers:rotfl:
We stopped keeping hamsters soon after those.SPC~12 ot 124

Oh, mrs-moneypenny, a hamster in the oven, too funny.
When we were kiddos, my brother had an albino hamster and the cage was in the living room. One night it escaped and we found out it was loose when we came down in the morning and found the moggie going spare chasing it around and this white blur just whizzing around the floor.
We caught Snowy (with difficulty) and he was damp and had obviously been in the cat's mouth at some point before getting, wet with spittle, into the coal scuttle. We gave him a tepid sponge bath with cotton wool balls but he was still pied grey and white for months, bless him.
Had a freegle pick-up last night which should have happened 3 weeks ago, but they got here in the end. Have stuck another random object up for collection.
I also resisted buying two very nice soup bowls this aft. They were only 20p each but there isn't really anywhere to put them and they wouldn't match anything else I own in the crockery area. So, I walked away.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
