Fantastic amount Mavvymoo! :TA good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Brilliant result Mavvymoo:A
Felt too tired and lifeless this morning to join OH and his cycling chums for coffee, but it did mean a relaxing morning on my own:(
Forced myself to revisit the dreaded paperwork and have shredded 2.1/2 shredder bins full, it is beginning to look achievable at last:D
Not sure how long I should keep occupational pension pay slips for, PAYE has been paid every month and I have the P60? thingys. I will leave them to the end and see how far back they go as not sure if I already culled the 2010 and 2011 ones anyway:(
I am in the midst of trying to install a new printer, I know it is the modern way, but I hate having to go on line and download the user guide instead of having a nice step by step sheet to work through, oh the joys of being old. Tomorrow I will be kondoing the old one to the recycling centre, together with some other electrical bits.
For the last 2 or 3 days we have been host to a very poorly looking Jackdaw in the garden, he/she had a bloody wing which was obviously damaged/broken. I often curse them as there are so many around and I worry about the small bird population, but I could not ignore it's plight so have been putting out lots of meal worms and suet pellets and the bird has been gaining strength and the wing looking a little more normal, yesterday I think it kondoed itself back home with it's mate who came to visit. This morning they both visited, so hopeful it will survive, time will tell, but I will put food out for a little longer. I would add that it was extremely active, hopping around at speed and sort of jumping to try and catch insects, so there was no hope of catching it and getting it to the animal/bird sanctuary. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Feel free to come and visit... there's still plenty more weed to be removed
Haven't got back in there yet today, as I've been tidying other bits of the garden. When I've filled 8 bags will weeds/prunings/strimmings I'll go back for another paddle...
My dad took all the spare radiator lock shield valves and thermostatic valves away with him as they don't have thermostats on their radiators. Good to know they're not being wasted.0 -
Well done Mavvymoo :T :T :T I hope you're managing to take things a bit easier today!
OH has emptied everything out from the cupboard under the stairs to look for "late" mice (not a sign, must be in one of the cardboard boxes) and to look for the hinges he bought some years ago when he bought a put-it-together-yourself garden gate, our old one then being decrepit.
It's now even more decrepit, but DS is planning to build the new one and has bought some nice bolts for it, and thankfully OH did find the hinges.
Unfortunately he then put everything else back in the cupboard again and refused to see if we actually still need it allHe had to leave work several years ago for health reasons but still has all his manuals from his job. He just can't let stuff go
Sometimes I feel like screaming at him that if he dies tomorrow it will all go straight into a skip.
He does talk about Kondo-ing stuff and actually agrees it's a good idea, but then can't do it and says he certainly doesn't remember saying any such thing
Sorry, just had to get that off my chestI'll stop moaning now.

Ivy it will happen, mine saved everything and this is possibly my third sweep of the attic. I keep chipping away at my stuff and he's come on board as he sees space appearing in the house. He says how much better the house feels now after each CS run, it's taken me years but he agreed the videos could go earlier this year and now old fitness mags are going.
He's now seeing the light and space of kondoing and realises that letting things go is far better than holding on to not used stuffSPC~12 ot 124

Well done Mav you're doing Stirling work all round.:T
Today dh and db have been replacing the rotten fence panels with concrete pa els and have done a fab job. Before db arrived dh and I cleared and cutback all down that side of the garden to make room for them to get at the fence. My green bin is full and I half filled next doors as well! !
I dug up a few shrubs to send back with db and sil as they are in the process of filling their garden! I still need to visit dd2 with some small plants to fill her pots.
The builder called today and we have discussed the new roof and insulation for the conservatory, so hopefully he will be free to start in a couple of months.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
:T:T:T Mav, that's fantastic.
excellent civic pride, GH.
well done to all who have been so busy, and to those who have got DH onboard I salute you!
We've been making a slow trek north to visit my parents (the many roadworks made for painfully slow progress for much of the way. Grrrrrr). No kondo-ing yet but I will ask Mum if she will release a few items to needy homes. I think if I pinpoint a few needs, with named people, it might make it easier because she is a caring person and loves to help out if she can. There is a Lot of surplus Stuff here, a LOT
if the weather is dry we have a massive rose hedge to cut back (including a bit of traffic dodging where it overhangs the road.....), lots of weeding and several other jobs have been suggested, including 'a trip to the shops', if you'll pardon my swearing, which will be the biggest ordeal!!
Have a joyous day,
MI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0
