I've just had two of 5 new cushion pads delivered - I found some empty cushion covers it makes sense to use them. Two need sewing up as the zips have gone, but they're for using in the garden so it doesn't matter. Will have to think about storage for them in the winter (I really, really need to go and buy a wardrobe...)

My brother is coming over sometime to remove a large piece of carpet from my garage. I've taken a radiator and various other bits to the tip. I have another radiator to go, and plans to give the garage a thorough clean so it can start being useful space again.
  • Slinky, thanks a million for that link - how absolutely true. I've just looked around my own much-loved, much-used, slightly tired kitchen with different eyes!

Mavvy, well done - Lola and Lolly may not be grateful but you've probably saved their lives.

Tete-en-Air - Asos still do the little map and the timing updates, their delivery service is brilliant and they're my first choice because of that although I too use click-and-collect when I can.

Love it Slinky - it does us good to stop and count our many blessings. I'm trying very hard at the moment to be a calm & supportive wife after DH (GT!!) scraped the running board of his RV (lol) on the gate as he reversed with a trailer. Apparently its my fault 'cos I should have looked at both sides while he was reversing. Must learn to grow eyeballs out on stalks next time. Its an extremely minor scrape IMHO but......... I'll make a cuppa

Hi all, glad the kitties are doing well, and hope your bite is ok!
Just kondoed a bottle of bubble bath into the soap dispensers, I don't take baths much prefer to shower. Last time I did this DH actually commented on how nice the soap smelled !

On Monday I emptied the bedding box I keep in the conservatory, it only had dgs craft bits in and some decorating mags. It is now in the newly tidied garage with the chair cushions inside and the rather rickety plastic drawers are going. They only contained glass jars I saved for the garden to put tea lights in. These have been put in the recycling as it's never nice enough to sit out at night more than twice a year!! And I have tea light holders in the house and lanterns that could be brought outside. :T

I wonder if it's a regional thing, it's not like that for me anymore, and I buy a lot from there so I know :o

Annoyingly nowhere seems to collect bikes to be recycled so I'll have to see if I can fit them in the car without too much trouble, otherwise the council waste people will collect them, but I'd rather they went to good causes if poss. I've left them in the garden hoping that it'll rain and clean the cobwebs off them :D

I called the council and they're sending someone tomorrow to collect my bulky waste, so that's a mattress, old BBQ, pouffe and table I'll be free from by tomorrow evening.

Still lots to do but I feel I'm on a roll :j

Oh my word, you have all been so busy! :T:T:T:T for Everyone.

As my niece would say, time to take a chill pill, for everyone awaiting deliveries!

It's still 28C here but the clouds are building, DH has a headache and I reckon thunder is on its way. I confess to having bought a ready meal curry for my tea (no rice, just chicken korma), can't be bothered to do much cooking, just some cauli n green beans will do. Have got DH some YS high-end fishcakes (bung em in the oven for 20 mins, serve my green beans n cauli! :). Low carbing continues to be yummy, thankfully!

Not kondo-ing today*, been out all day and it's too hot to tackle the little back bedroom/study/craft room this evening and anyway, tomorrow's another day so no pressure :)
    * does resisting another scarf in CS get me Brownie points? It was a lovely colour but I DON'T NEED ANYMORE!

Have a lovely evening, and do find time for a cuppa and feet up if you've been busy all day !

    M
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

    Hi All,
Not posted in a while, been busy packing...

Hermes around here are pretty good, but I hate Yodel. Love DPD deliveries, though - give you an hour time slot and real time updates.

You've all been so busy. Keep it up! :T

Not much KMing here, more sorting and packing.
That said, 2 dustbin bags full to charity shop but came out with a lovely floral Per Una summer skirt for £3. Think the pattern has more of my mums colours (winter) than mine (Autumn) but will wear it and if it doesn't spark joy then mum can have it when I next see her.

Sold 14 out of 36 items on eBay. Dumbo here had them ending during the Euro Final - duh! Still, after all fees I made £195 so was well pleased with that! :T

Finally, 31 items are leaving the house tomorrow...
It's my mum's birthday August 31st so I decided to do a her a birthday type "advent".
I've called it her birthday countdown and have wrapped and numbered 31 items so that she has one item to open each day of her birthday month.
I used to subscribe to beauty boxes so had lots of brand new beauty duplicates and new make up that weren't my colours so I've wrapped those along with some Yankee wax melts and bought a Kettlewell scarf. When I counted them all up I had 30 items that were surplus so only had to buy 1 extra item.
Some are full size, some are small samples but I think she'll enjoy it because my step dad has dementia so doesn't remember her birthday anymore. Plus, it's cleared some of my beauty stockpile so good for me too.
Anyway, it's all wrapped and boxed and ready to drop off at the parcel shop tomorrow.

Still waiting to exchange on the house :wall: and there are boxes everywhere. I've mentally moved out so just want to go now.

    Sorry, I've waffled enough. :o
    Stay cool! xx

:o Been there, done that. Major design flaw, isn't it?

Well, I sent Baxters a quick email and this is what they said:

Thank you very much for contacting us and we very much appreciate your feedback. The reason that the cooking instructions are on the reverse is I'm afraid industry standard. However I have passed your comments to our new product development team who will take them into account on any further development of this product.

We do hope you remain a very much valued customer of the Baxters Food Group.

    Industry standard, eh?

Note to self: Use phone to take pic of underside before popping pie in oven.:rotfl:

    Morning all
Yodel didnt turn up shock horror :D More excuses and they are now saying the sender has put the wrong address down. Which is rubbish I am sure. When I asked what address they had they just made up some totally random address which makes no sense at all.
They cant find my address even though every other company can. I said if the driver rung me I could give directions but they cant do that as thier drivers dont carry phones :rotfl:
So it is being redelivered today between 8am -8pm cant give me any sort of time at all.
But what I havent told them is I am out all day so they can waste a bit more of thier time as they have wasted mine.
I am sure they wont turn up as they havent the last 2 days so what makes today any different I dont know.

The problem I have got is its showing as delivered and they said they cant change that to undelivered as the system wont allow it

So I am going to struggle to get a refund as it shows as delivered :(
I hate yodel  Worse company I have had to deal with for a long time.

I am just on my way to let Lola out of the dog cage she has been in overnight and let her back with her kittens. :TLast time I looked she was hanging off the top of it so she will be pleased to get back out :)

Anyway onwards and upwards folks and dont let the idiots grind you down ;)
