KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Greenbee - I'll ask the person today when they come to collect if they have a number/contact in your area and pm you.
Not expecting much Kondoing today as there's a pile of washing giving me the evil eye. Might be able to have a stab at the paper mountain though.
Have a good day all.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Just managing a little bit each day. Utensils drawer done in kitchen and used box and a jar that I was about to put in recycling to help tidy the cleared out drawer - it's true what Marie says about not buying new storage items because what you already have can be used and so weird how the right item just happens to be in your hand when you're thinking about it!
Cleared out Christmas paper and cards for making tags before putting away and reduced it from two boxes and a bag to just one box. Lots of paper I'd kept couldn't be reused because it was torn etc so I just don't understand why I was keeping it, and many of the cards had pictures which were not suitable for cutting down into tags. Seeing as I only give 9 presents a year, I don't need to keep many anyway.
Had a look at the Big List last night and it is much reduced - at last, it's taken years! Will keep plugging on with it as would love to no longer have a Big List and just go back to dealing with each thing as it comes in to get rid straight away.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Hi - Newbie to KonMarie here. Only come across this a couple of days ago, so am looking forward to trying it out. Have just ordered The Magic of Tidying, and am looking forward to reading it, and getting started on decluttering. Hopefully I'll be able to make a bit of money out of decluttering by putting stuff on Fleabay and the local buy and sell pages. I've never known myself to have such enthusiasm for decluttering my home!January Grocery Challenge 2016 = £119.41/£250.00

The last time I went to the tip, I had a look at some items in the 'metal' container, and saw a nice nesting set of pastel blue pans. When I lifted the lid off the top one to see the condition of the pans, I found a receipt, credit card and ID card! I'm sure that person did not mean to kondo those!
I handed the cc/ID to the Tip Manager, and moved the pans to the 'secondhand' container.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -

Thanks!
Did a CS run today to the hospice shop depot so got rid of the stuff that has been collecting in the car boot for a week.
Returned a light fitting that I bought thinking it was a lampshade.
Exchanged a duplicate christmas present.
Then got my hair cut...
I have ordered a whole lot of new bedding, which I needed, and is due to turn up shortly. However, due to the imminent influx of visitors the house is remarkably tidy. I need to clear out the fridge now to make room for the food for the weekend, finish getting the house ready CHECK THE FREEZER then do the last of the food shopping and start cooking!0 -
Well I'm about 3/4 of the way through the book. Haven't officially started Kondoing yet, but OH had some shirts we'd put on one side for the local homeless night shelter but hadn't seen any info about where to donate this year. Spotted a notice in a shop window yesterday so a load of old shirts, some unworn white socks, a fleece and a roll-on brand new deodorant somebody had dropped in Mr Ts carpark have gone to the homeless today. I got rid of a few books and a couple of tops to the charity shop yesterday. Christmas cards and some ribbon were recycled at Sainsbury today.

Had planned a mighty kondo day today but dealing with a company's very poor customers services dept has taken up much of my time. In betwen phone calls and emails I have managed to fill a large N*xt sale carrier bag and a bag for a charity kerb side collection next week. Have revisited bedding todayBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Hi all, I was hoping to help dd2 clean up her kitchen, I was looking for a missing item sil had left there at new year, so sorted through the draws, but dd2 thought I was doing too much, and got stroppy ,she doesn't want me to tidy for her ! So came home.
As I was in cleaning mode I decided to clean the oven and sink, after which I leaned the mould from bathroom ceiling, and touched up the paint when it dried.i also painted the wall at the top of the stairs which is a feature colour and was looking a bit grubby, so that had 2 coats.cleaned the bathroom tiles, and swept and hoovered all through. :j
So after feeling upset that dd2 won't let me help her (cried on way home) I feel much better now I have had a good tidy at home. Work tomorrow so hope I feel fit enough after tea to rinse and wash the shelves to put back in the oven.;)Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -

Hope I've copied it right.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
Thanks for that link wort, a good 'booster' for anyone revisiting clothes as well as for new Konverts. I'm sorry about your DD's reaction - it's often harder to accept help from those closest to us because we feel (wrongly) that they'll judge us. Kondo on and hope she picks up the vibes!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0
