    Thank you GQ. Most insightful.

Seems almost all of it can go, as being challenged in a hostile manner (or receiving put-downs) about achievements is now unlikely - as those who tended to do it have been kondoed out of my life, either naturally, or in one case, with a significant push from me!

In fact, looking back, it's clear that the older stuff in question actually originated (and was kept) at a time when these negative critters were still very prominent in my life.

Goes deep sometimes, the reasoning why we hold on, doesn't it?

Training stuff has been skimmed at the speed of light and is now in carrier bags in hall ready to recycle. :D

    Thank you. :D

Good point about how deep some of it goes. I hadn't really thought anout it in connection with 'paperwork'. I haven't kept my uni notes or my professional qualies notes, just the certificates but
I know what you mean about having folk make sniping remarks or belittling the achievements.

I was gutted when, after 2.5 years of studyjng while working to achieve a legal qualification that also required a lot of maths and science, my dad pronounced that my job was ' not the same as your brother's though' - meaning not as responsible / difficult / valued.
It rankled with me but I thought I had let it go. However, when I quit my job a senior manager quite a lot higher up in the organisation actually paid me a huge compliment re a project I had brought to fruition. I made sure I showed that to Dad and he was actually chuffed. He said he didn't realise.
Well, it has always been true that some folk shout about their every achievement in the office while others just get on with it!!

Speaking of achievements - well done GQ, nearly 2 stone and counting! I have not reached that yet but was delighted to weigh-in this morning at a clear 1 stone 2 lbs loss in 8 weeks,, so back on track after my holiday. It certainly makes you keep up the good work when you are actually making headway, just like MK :D

Thanks for the window seat idea, Oceanspirit. I Love window seats but the layout won't allow it downstairs. It would do in the bedroom though! Be lovely for sitting reading in:)

    Thanks for the warning Charis.

Charis thanks for warning, shame you couldnt get the money back

I have big news (oh a non KM variety, but im sure I can tie it in) - today I got a train to the city centre, walked around with a friend and got the train home.....all with my walking stick still in my bag!. I only bought needful or joyful things too. Some of the money I've saved by cutting down on things and unhealthy foods etc went on some lovely jewellery - I'm a sucker for malachite and marquisite. Sadly the second hand jeweller insisted on giving me all the packaging, so I'll prob pop some unwanted jewellery in the boxes so they can go to the CS together

So far I've only kondo'd about 2kg, will be slow with not being able to really exercise. Hope everyone has had a joyful day too :j

    Yay Dragonette! :T :T :T

Sounds like a very joyful day indeed.

As you start on weight loss just remember that doing it slowly will mean you can stick at it, and just as importantly, keep it off! It is a great idea to save any money you would have spent on 'the wrong kind of food' and spend it on rewards! I have been treating myself to a bunch of flowers whenever I meet my next mini target :D

Dragonette, great news not needing the stick, it is a lovely feeling to get around without aid.

Great news on all the Kondoing of unwanted pounds everyone, slow and steady is the best way I am sure.

RL has slowed progress here, but packing to go away for a few days last week was a breeze, need some dry days now to get the washing done and everything put away, that is the part that I still struggle with and tend to do it in 15 minute bursts, or shorter sometimes if energy levels are low.

    Morning all :D

Lolly is ok still not fully recovered but getting bigger by the day. She is now in the woodshed and I mean a 30ft woodshed so she has plenty of room. Lolly is a feral cat so really not happy inside.
But she has been really terrifed few a few days and I didnt know why.

But I know now :( We have another mum cat (maybe Lollys mum) with 5 kittens 3 tabby and 2 black. Living under the woodshed these kittens are tiny but now out and playing by the woodshed which Lolly doesnt like as the front is open so see can see them. We have now arranged it so she cant see them so she has settled a bit.

I have spoken to cats protection normally they would trap them all rehome the kittens and spay mum and then return her here as thats where she was found. I am happy with that BUT and there is a big problem they are living under the woodshed where no one can get near them.

So they are going to wait until the kittens are older and can leave mum and then try to catch them all.But get them before they are old enough to breed.

I wondered why I had seen no rats or mice as these kittens look very well fed and are in far better condition than Lolly is or was.

So now I have got to try and catch Lolly (which isnt easy now) and get her to the vets to get her checked over again and hopefully spay her as soon as we can.

So watch this space as to how the Cat saga pans out.

No kondoing done no cleaning done feel I am slipping back a bit really but have had friends staying for 5 days who are house hunting , have got 6 cats (that I seen) plus Lolly to deal with and the charity sale is on Saturday so have been really busy with that.So think I have got a slight reason to be honest ;)

Mavvy - thanks for the update on Lolly. Glad she continues to improve. You've really got your hands full at the moment so are totally excused ( even though you didn't have a note from your Mum ;))
DH has been asked if he'd do some welding down at the club - they had some engines stolen earlier this year and want some extra security so he'll be out today and tomorrow so some major Kondoing being done. I'd never Kondo anything of his but often if he sees other stuff going he questions it and wants me to keep it Justin!! Don't think he's quite on board yet.
Hope everyone gets some sunshine today x

Hi Mavy, I bet you are not slipping back, I bet there is just a scattering of stuff to tidy away and a light clean to do After the fund-raiser!? Your friendship to the house-hunters and to Lolly et al are worth your time when it is most needed, the tidy n clean will wait a few days!

Right, off to do 3 hours paid work then I shall tackle a fairly long ' to do' list before this evening. The sun is shining and we have blue sky so I reckon I can tackle anythung today!

Wishing you all a joyful moment or two today,

  • Mavvymoo youre our inspiration- I don't believe you're slipping, surely part of the point of this is that we can afford to let housework go for a few days because we know it won't take long to catch up.

BettiePage that's a very good point - essays etc that I wrote in my youth are absolutely cringe-making now. My qualifications pre-date personal computers so it was all handwritten (and I have a slightly deformed finger on my right hand to prove it!). I don't think I have ever been challenged on my qualifications but if I were, producing boxes of notes wouldn't help!

Dragonette good news on your health improvement. You're all doing so well. RL has been in the way this week - I need to start a 'to do' list today to prioritise things.

Thank you for the support all.I dont feel like an inspiration at the moment I feel I am chasing my tail really.

I also have to report I now have 3 baby bunnies living in the front garden one is tiny. Just hung some washing out and they just carried on eating :rotfl:With the 7 cats  that I have seen (could be more) the 3 baby bunnies, The dog, and 22 rescue hens and Phil the Rooster (another rescue) I feel like I am in some sort of Zoo or rescue centre.

Friends have just contacted me and they are coming back up to stay at the weekend for a second viewing on a house 3 miles from me :D

    So busy busy busy ;)
