As I've posted on another thread - mixed feelings. Just hope our beloved leaders (whoever they are) knuckle down to the job instead of slanging each other off. The majority have voted so lets just deal with it without all the backstabbing. Rant over.

I have got the back bedroom painted on weds now a nice calming pale blue and white. Used a third of a tin of Lulworth blue and filled the tin with white and it turned out lovely :T

    Hi All :D

Yep EU kondoed I stayed up until 3am this morning watching it :o As I thought we will never see that again in our lifetime I doubt (unless you are in Scotland or Ireland) Then I think you maybe doing it again soon. We just have to get on with it now and who knows lets hope someone good stands up and leads us forward.

Little Lolly is doing ok and getting stronger antibiotics finish today. She is still very rattley so if she is not clear Monday I will take her back to the vets.Thought I would give her a couple of days off the antibiotics before I went back.

She is still eating really well but is still asleep most of the time she isnt like a normal kitten and I have never seen her play :(Which is sad but when she is fully fit lets hope she makes up for lost time :D

:) Aww, mavvy, thank you for all you do for that poor wee scrap. I'm sure she'll find her mojo once she's feeling better, she's just resting and healing her illnesses. Please keep us updated, hey?

Haven't been kondo-ing much but have had some very joyful news, as my mother has been at the hospital today having investigations for what was thought to be a recurrance of BC and it's come up as not. So relieved for her and for the rest of our family.

Strange things are happening, lovely people. My bedroom is looking, how shall we say......... tidy? As in, containing fewer things, and what there is there being more accessible. It's quite extraordinary how a place can look a complete dive then suddenly something clicks and it becomes orderly......... must be that business called Woo.

Was going to the lottie tonight but a downpour came over at the wrong point and screwed up the timing and am now cooking supper. Tomorrow, dear lottie, I promise I will visit tomorrow.

Now, where did I leave my machete, elephant gun and pith helmet.....?

  • Good news about your mum, GQ.

I may be Kondoing some friends after today. I'm genuinely dismayed at the outpourings of venom and spiteful comments on social media that I've read today.

    Fingers crossed for little Lolly.

:) I found last weekend that my more middle-class professional friends were staunchly remainers and spoke derogatorily about brexiters. I chose not to put a dog in that fight and kept schtumm about my views.

It did bring home to me that, although if you met me and noted the BBC newscaster voice and general air of culture, you might assume that I was of the same stripe, that there is a huge gulf between my working-class background and their (relatively) privileged ones. And, that on the big issues, this shapes our decisions in opposite directions, sometimes.

Ach well, all this will pass in time, today was always going to be a day of raw emotions as about half of all people were going to be tee'd off whomever had come first in the vote.

:D Today I bought something which is presently useless; a pair of size 16 jeans from the chazzer. For £2.99 in my leg length and preferred boot-cut style. I will launder and store them as a statement that I will get back down to my proper weight and size. Considering it a statement of intent.

GQ, I've kept my head down at the office, I spend too much time there to fall out with my colleagues over this. Working for the NHS we all need to work together. This choice made for us is one we all have to live with whether it was our own or not, our fellow citizens and employees and neighbours are all in the same situation with us whichever way they voted, we can't be whingey about it, we ALL made this happen.

DH and I were in agreement but 2/3 of our town were agin us.

:) I genuinely don't know how some of my colleagues feel/ felt prior to the ballot. We were very busy managing the customer-facing side of the election and dealing with that, and didn't actually spend much time discussing politics. Not that there's much time to chat anyway with calls coming in every 5 seconds.

Like most call centres, we're mostly graduates with a varied life history and of ages from a minority in their late teens and twenties, to a majority in the 30-50 cohort.

But, like you say, we have to get along with each other and it's not worth having a row about it. On Sunday, my bestie asked me my voting intention and I told her I didn't want to have that conversation, I'd already nearly had a row with my brother over it in the previous hour.

Spoke to my brother this aft, he is the sole remainer in the whole family. I didn't remark on the referendum at all - we talked about the cats.

And the cyrils. The two youngest in the cyril clan (one fell off the peanut feeder last week, remember) had a dust-up and one knocked the other off it yesterday. Very funny to watch, bless.
