I took your example GQ and bought some sale clothes that are a bit snug but should be ok in about 5-6 more lbs lost. Most inspired!

Not much 'proper' Kondoing done. Did give one friend her dress back that I'd shortened and another friend her cushions that I'd made some new covers for.- and a bottle of prosecco to a hen party I went to last night! DGD is coming tomorrow to kondo my grey roots. Must get a wriggle on as I've fallen by the wayside somewhat.
Have a good day all x

I put four items onto am Ozoon and the bay of e - quite difficult giving realistic descriptions, as some things are old and some things are collectible .... I dread the thought of someone making a complaint, but it doesn't stop me in the end :)

    hi Kond-in-ers and kond-exit-ers
I've been reading your tales over the last few weeks, my kondo- ing has gone downhill due to being unable to kondo my chronic fatigue (if only). Looking on the bright side, the basics have remained in place and apart from creeping piles of stuff on the table/cupboard, harmony will shortly be restored. Knickers and towels have remained orderly at all times! Chazzer bag, foodbank bag and ragbag all remain duly filled when appropraite.
I know there are a few spoonies, fibromites and cfsers on here, someone said an odd thing to me recently "isn't that Kondo method for housebound people?" Well it's for everyone but for those of us who are in a lot it's even more beneficial I guess :)

  • What an odd thing to say! MK is for anyone and everyone and in fact it frees us all from being 'housebound' in the sense of being tied to our possessions. It's certainly freed my mind from a lot of things, so I hope that for those who are unable to leave the house much, it makes life easier and more comfortable.

Nothing much going on here today, I have fallen behind on tidying up/cleaning and I guess I am always going to be a reluctant housewife, but oh it is so much quicker to do now I've got rid of all the toot! I need to review my wool stash, a couple of finished projects have left me with rather a lot of leftovers and I either need to find a stashbuster to use them up or pass them on to someone.

Sorting loft out at the moment...came across our wedding cards.
The sentimental part of me says keep them...the practical part of me says , they are only of interest to me, my kids aren't bothered about them. We've been married for years. I'd forgotten they were there... How many of you have kept your cards please?

I've got my wedding cards still. Would feel sad throwing them away, memories from a very happy day.

:) One of the things which surfaced in a pile of random paperwork at my parents' place earlier this year was an invitation to a wedding which took place in London in the late 1960s.

The bride was a very distant relation. My parents did not attend. They are not in contact with the relation and have no idea whether they are dead or alive. I thought that, given the lack of interest and the fact that this item wasn't being stored in some kind of keepsake box but just among random junk, that it could be recycled.

:p:o Apparently not. I shall no doubt bump into it one day when the inevitable happens and then it will definately hit the recycling stream.

    Tattycath,

I must admit that I rarely look back at sentimental items and therefore have not held on to many. I do have photos and a few cards but the only ones I find beneficial are pics of lovely holidays! Any with long departed rellies and friends just upset me. I know full well what they looked like and prefer a sudden happy memory that will float by rather than sitting down to look at a photo album, iyswim.

A dear friend who is living on borrowed time asked me recently to show some photos of me as a child. I have none! I rang my mum and she sent me 4, but has hundreds! She said it was too much
trouble to get them all out but I could go through the boxes on my next visit (I might ask GQ if she wants a sabbatical in Scotland :D)

I prefer living in the present and looking forward to the future, but I wonder if that makes me sound callous. As I said, happy memories float into my consciousness without the need for photos to conjure them up.

I don't suppose the above ramblings help much, sorry! I have no kids so clearly there is no family history trail to pass down, perhaps that skews my thoughts?

ETA - Sorry, forgot to specifically mention cards. Nope, don't keep them. Only kept the first one DH sent me after we finally got married (lived together for Years beforehand), because he thought it was hilarious to send one 'To my dear Wife' :rotfl: It's still a running joke.
