:) Ahh, the joys of being able to put your hands on the equipment necessary for a task, whether it's a bit of DIY or cleaning something. If you can get to the kit in seconds, the task is so much more likely to be done, isn't it. I've brought the polyfilla in from the bike shed to remind me to extract the rawl plugs from 4 now-redundant holes in the wall and then fill them. Only been waiting a few months to get a round tuit.

Thrilled for dragonette. I've become mindful over the years of how a positive comment from a passing stranger or, indeed, from a colleague or acquaintance, can lift the mood. So, these days, if I think of one, I just say it.

Such a small gift for a fellow human bean but amazingly joyful.

Will be at work today and then up to the allotment in the evening. I'm finding 6 pm and onwards works well for me. I'm very fair-skinned (redhaired before the snow started falling on the roof :p) and don't do too well in full sun even with a hat. A couple of hours of pottering and possibly a tip run just before they close at 8 pm, and it's a lovely end to an office day.

I've done all the major kondo-ing at the flat, only some minor things to do, but it has completely transformed my attitudes to Stuff. As in, I really really don't want very much of it around at all. I think that is a permanant change which I was moving towards anyway, but kondo-ing has really affirmed it.

Life is so much easier, as well as more joyful, when you're not wading and pawing through Stuff.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Morning kondoers, hope everyone is well
    Positive vibes where needed
Going to be busy all day today with paid stuff but I always enjoy that so I'm happy.
Had salad using the spinach, radish, lettuce and salad greens grown in the garden while sitting out in the sun last night. Then the heavens opened up and we got a 15 minut deluge. It filled the waterbutt and saved me watering mine or my neighbour's this morning.
Sorted out some unopened toiletries from my stash that I won't use so they can go to the school summer fete appeal on Friday.

    Have a joyful day all.

Lightning flashing at about 11pm last night but no rain so shall need to water the garden tonight. Shame cos like many of you I love a thunderstorm. Just got the last little bit of power washing to do - we've a raised brick edge find our borders and they could do with the moss removed and a brighten. Some small pieces of mending to be done but it'll wait till the weather changes. I did manage to Kondo some freebee DVD's to my friend for her grandchildren. Still need to tackle the RoD :(

Morning all, now I've slept my brain is capable of responding to some previous posts!

mavvy that's amazing, what a wonderful thing to do!

MMF *grins* I have a black stick with multi coloured large polka dots, v similar to my backpack. Stylish disability aids make them more joyful :D The shiny purple stick is for when I'm dressed up as I'm usually in purple so it matches. Sounds like you've been v busy!

GQ That is more profound than it seems at first reading, spreading smiles and joy is possibly one of the kindest things we can do. I decided that even on the days I can barely get out of bed that I can make people feel better and that can be my societal contribution when I'm non productive

It is overcast here atm, hoping for some rain so I can get a break from watering the tubs. Pure laziness on my part :) Time to get moving I suspect, loads to do

Only a few days 'til I head for home and still lots to do re: things brought with me so will have a blitz today. Down to last trade magazine to be read and still have the dreaded address book to do so plan to get both of those done today plus finish the birthdays book.

Also want to finish writing a letter started several days ago as it will feel sooo good to get that done.

Will report back here later as it'll be helpful to feel accountable.

BTW have really enjoyed wearing proper clothes whilst being away instead of the old baggies that I get into the habit of wearing at home just because it's easier. Have a wardrobe at home stuffed full of lovely things that just don't get worn because they're too good for daily use, lol. The tales of cupboard mould resound with me 'cos I found mould in the wardrobe last autumn even though the heating pipes run through it and I guess it's because there's just too much in there. So, need to get happily wearing and not replacing!

Karmacat, I am so excited that you have less than 12 weeks to go until retirement! However, it's gonna be busy if my experience is anything to go by, although I was always going to have to do some paid work and I am only 52 so not complaining!! A lady I did a few hours work for but then lost contact with rang yester to ask for some more hours :) I had thought maybe she was not very impressed and had ditched me, but it seems not, so all is well!
Thank you! You're right, you know, its *really* busy right now :( my work load has almost doubled at the moment (self employed counsellor) and frankly my stress levels are through the roof. I already feel today that I've worked a full day and done overtime, but my paid work only starts at midday :( I just hope it goes well, because I'm feeling a bit iffy, to be honest, with other stuff thats going on :( Sorry all! I'm really, really looking forward to kondo-ing the work.

Hey Karmacat, don't over do it now you're on the home stretch! In the spirit of GQ, Dragonette and Mrs MP an All, making a kind comment or offering support, here's a virtual squeeze you can capture while you do 5 minutes of meditation, OK?

My lovely client today found joy in seeing the cow parsley growing at the roadside because it reminds her many happy summers helping at Scouts. After our trip out I spent 25 minutes showing her how to use her new mobile phone. I put her family numbers in the contacts list but she said she just wants to input which ever number she needs rather than searching the list. I think it's wise to have it stored there though, just in case of emergency ( I have put the ICE number in there for anyone coming to her rescue, should they need it!).

I have now recovered from yesterday's madness and miraculously am not stiff or fatigued. So, off to make a nice tea for my hard working DH. I'm afriad Kondoing shall have to wait til Friday!

    have a joyful evening,

    M
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

I too admire you Mavvy - what a wonderful idea.

I watched the "Big Spring Clean" last night and although they did add lots of storage the declutterer folded clothes in the drawers in the "MK" way. They also said a lot about people having too much stuff and giving themselves permission to get rid of it. An interesting prog.
