Slinky, ouch, cars can be so expensive at times! Fingers crossed the repairs come in as low as poss

My only kondo decision today is that the plants that do not like this flat will move to my mum's, they're in a similar situation in each house but something here is not right for them and I can't work out what it is

Mamasaver, well done on all your work. Are the old letters still within reach? Then I suggest burning them, it's very cathartic!

Unfortunately not, that would have been a better option!

Busy day had a 'street party' in the playground for the queen birthday and did lots of fun stuff. I wore the flag dress I'd made it went down very well.
Water butt is now full as were having a downpour as I type. So don't need to way garden tonight.
Dd3 had an infected ingrown toenail Kondoed this morning bless her she's struggled for months with it and finally got to the top of the waiting list..
Dd2 is moving house so tomorrow were helping with the move and doing furniture ferrying.
Because of that I doubt I'll get much kondoing done here.

Everyone else seems to be doing fantastically so well done all.

Oh we'd love to see a photo of the flag dress MrsMP, I bet you looked great!

Boiler serviced and stuff put back in it's cupboard all neatly. Of course I took the chance to do a mini kondo and repostioned some items for easier access (not the best cupboard as cramped and in a corner but it has to serve us as we have so little storage space). I also used up the dregs of carpet cleaner on living room rug and so I could put plastic bottle in recycling and have found a bleach that is at least 3/4 used so that's gone upstairs. I know it's a bit bonkers but isn't it satisfying when you get to expel a newly emptied container ? :D

Relevant baking equipment has been retrieved from said cupboard and Delia's damp gingerbread is looking promising in the oven right now, can you smell it?? While this recipe has an offputting name it is always a winner. FIL specially requested for his birthday. I shall not touch a single crumb. Mustn't cheat - the low carb diet is very unforgiving of even minor indescretions and I am determined to lose weight steadily.

Managed to get most of my chores done today but feeling in need of a rest this evening, it's been a busy week. I shall do 20 minutes of Tai Chi to wind down and then i shall relax with a good book. JOY!

    Have a great evening,

    M

  • Brilliant dress! You're all inspiring, Mamasaver you're doing so well - I think many people find playrooms very difficult so congratulations on that.

Slinky thanks for the comment about your M&S trousers. I am a bit dim, I've got two identical pairs of navy linen trousers which I was delighted to rediscover when I Kondoed the wardrobe last year. I took one pair on holiday and was dismayed to find they were rather tighter than I'd thought - especially as I thought I was losing weight, not gaining it.

It honestly didn't occur to me that they'd have shrunk (as opposed to just being 'tight' after washing) especially as it wasn't the first time they've been washed. Further investigation suggests that it's not the amount of cake I've eaten but the quality of the fabric. I'm disappointed but relieved!

    Morning all.

Firstly, I hope that Greyqueen is O.K.? and that all is well with you and yours, missed seeing you around for a few days.

mrs moneypenny - love the dress, you are so talented.

Commiserations to those having to pay for expensive things like cars and boilers, there always seems to be something waiting to go wrong:eek:

A large bag of books and a photo frame left for the c.s. yesterday, and few odd electrical bits to the re-cycling centre earlier in the week, yesterday I reached out some summer trousers from the off season stash of clothes in the room of doom and realised that quite a few more things can go to the cs, I have had rather a spree buying summer/layering tops and tunics that fit properly over the past few weeks, so am happy to have another trying on session and purge. If I find I regain weight at some stage in the future, then I can shop again.

Greyqueen - you asked about the abbreviation CVID, it stands for Common Variable Immune Deficiency and means that I do not have any antibodies to infections, it seems that it is quite rare and not curable, but there is a replacement therapy, either by i/v infusion hooked up in hospital, or by self injection at home, which is my preferred choice as the hospital is 65 miles away, the substance is supposedly quite viscous, so not a quick jab it in and be done injection, but may have to be hooked up for a while, another 2 and a bit weeks before I go for training and first treatment:eek::eek::eek::eek: Hey ho another new life experience to be sampled:D:D
