Ooh - is that the NCS scheme, mrs-mp? Fab stuff - and looks good on uni applications if they go down that route later :) Because we're away for part of the hols (and he's away towards the end) DS1 couldn't do it this year, or I'd've signed him up. He is away for 2 weeks with army cadets, though - and that's only costing me £80 for a fortnight, inc all food/ transport etc - so that's not a bad deal. He'll be away on it for his GCSE results, so I'm going to collect them/ enrol him into VIth form :D:D

And - yes - boarding the gpigs is  £££!!! Where they go is fantastic, though (but they need more garden/ grass) - but it is a significant cost :(

I'd have a house-sitter, as long as they looked after my guinea pigs at the same time :) - it's costing us over £250 to have them boarded whilst we're in the US!!!

How long are you away for? It doesn't cost us that much for our two terriers for 9 days!
    Must use my stash up!

Yes that's the one, we went to the parents meeting Tuesday night it looks really good. He just needs to get out one night for his school prom but they said that won't be a problem.

I have just spent 6 full days in the garden ..........lots of fiddly long overdue jobs 'kondoed'. Lots of tidying up especially of greenhouse so consequently a trip to recycle center, fr**cycle items ( wire hanging baskets which I decided a few years ago I couldn't be bothered with anymore as they were always at their best when we where away in the summer) some stone to someone in the village who is mending their dry stone wall ( we are reducing the height of one of ours) some 'spare' plants to a neighbour and some general detritus into the wheelie. As I have hardly been in the house, it is looking not great although a friend came round last night and I did a quick tidy up and it was very easy .........bedroom and office just dumping ground at the moment. Some of the gardening jobs have been 'hanging' over me for years I would say - some plants have been waiting in their garden center pots to be planted out for years too :o When I bought them, I told myself I wouldn't but anymore until these where planted out and apart from a few veg plants I have kept that promise...........so now the poor things have been liberated and planted out which has meant clearing some parts of the garden borders.....it has been a very satisfying job and I have to say I think a bit of KM woo has been going on and iQueen's message:) Some of it part has been down to taking control of my own health too and again that has to be down to the old kondoing....the lifting of the burden of the 'stuff' going out of the door has helped me focus on me a little bit more:D

OH is away now for a few days......so tempted to start dumping his stuff esp paper based...........but I wont as I want him to see and feel the burden! I will however pile it all up in the office, in boxes..... the empty boxes that once housed my clutter..........how passive aggressive is that:eek::eek::rotfl::eek::D:eek:

Karmacat, you can get the relevant cert, from Disclosure Scotland for about £25. You need to email scanned copies of certain ID etc and pay online. It gives Basic Disclosure cert. HTH. Link to official website https://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/disclosureOnline/BDO_Instr.htm You will see that it is a Scottish Government agency. They are happy to do the checks for any UK residents, doesn't matter whether you live in Scotland or not. Takes about 2 weeks to come through. For clarity, it is not enhanced disclosure so wouldn't allow you to work with children or vulnerable adults. I sorted it out for DH when he went self-empld, so householders have some reassurance, as far as possible, when he visits, that he is not likely to nick their silver or do unspeakable things to them.

Today I got ready for a few hours work without any bother because, as we all kmow, your knicker drawer stays tidy once you have KM'd it!
I made a chicken salad for lunch to take with me. Worked for 3 hours, collected something for DH, talked myself into the Tai Chi outside in a local NT garden (it was such a lovely day here), did about 50 minutes and managed to almost copy the teacher (lost it a bit when he started movng arms and legs at the same time :rotfl: ), then shot into town to do some banking and *whispers* buy* a book -it's a reference book that will be useful for Ages so happy to have it. Cooked tea
and now am just relaxing. * when I say buy I mean used vouchers I was given at Christmas :T :T
All in all a good day!

    Enjoy Friday Everyone!
Is it just me or does it come round quicker these days?!

PS - weight loss now confirmed at 12 lbs.

I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
