 Well done on your weightloss, MMF007.

I just tried some sit-ups and discovered my abs have taken a leave of absence (sorry! :o) so will have to get working on those. After all, when the flab is gone, they'll be visible - eek!

greent £250 for 3 weeks guinea pig sitting  That is an awful lot of money to add to the cost of a holiday. But at least you know they are being well looked after.

Booked Dads train ticket for his 'holiday' in Lewes yesterday so he is off today so I have 2 weeks off as well. But I need to get down there and load the carp he has collected in the one the cupboards as its growing mould on the walls,As there is so much stuffed in there GQ would understand this situation :(

OK, I am imagining Karmacat and GQ setting up a business offering house and allotment sitting with some guerilla kondo-ing thrown in free! :rotfl:

Lovely and sunny here so off to kondo a parcel to my Dad, mend 2 socks, sort the kitchen out (temporarily had to home some garden items for DH!), and then I may be able to take that hour sitting in the garden reading, that I promised myself when I so-called semi retired!

Hope you all find some joy as the day develops,

    Morning all.
Been out to water the plants and found my first bit of joy in the day, I have grown a rather beautiful sweetpea flower. It is a lovley dark red fading to yellow at the edge, I've cut it and brought it in so the plant continues to produce flowers. It was definately a smile raiser.
Lots of stuff went in cycling this morning and has been collected.
Will bag the CS stuff up today so it can go tomorrow.

    Have a lovely day all.

Oooh, I got to play and help reorganise a friend's flat yest - we got one room done pretty well done. For the first time, the suggestion of finding a home for everything was taken up. Sadly the willingness to listen is due to a severe mental health crash so I've gone from encouraging him to get rid of things to asking him to keep a couple of things in a maybe box for when his mood is better. 4 binbags of videos binned, plus another of mixed rubbish and 2 of recycling
I also came back with a stack of things from his flat, most of which got immediately slotted into homes in my flat. Do have 2 mirrors to put up or rehome still :)

I found enough time to do some gardening this week, inc sowing some wildflower seeds - fingers crossed they take

Delighted to say that I ate a frog and renewed my library card and ordered the Kon Marie book :)

They'll let me know when it's back in and I'll get stuck in.

Dragonette, lovely to see that you've had energy to do gardening and helping your friend - long may it last.

MMF007 and GQ, congrats on your continuing weightloss. I don't possess any scales so I'm just going with how my clothes feel to measure progress.

Got rid of one more magazine, so just four to go. Also started writing birthdays into my new birthday book (well, bought in the January sales!) so I can get rid of the 2010 calendar which has been used for the purpose. Once finished with the mags and calendar, can then get on to the address book.

Karmacat, you can get the relevant cert, from Disclosure Scotland for about £25. You need to email scanned copies of certain ID etc and pay online. It gives Basic Disclosure cert. HTH. Link to official website https://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/disclosureOnline/BDO_Instr.htm You will see that it is a Scottish Government agency. They are happy to do the checks for any UK residents, doesn't matter whether you live in Scotland or not. Takes about 2 weeks to come through. For clarity, it is not enhanced disclosure so wouldn't allow you to work with children or vulnerable adults

Thank you for that! Thats very good! And I wouldn't want to be working with people (done that long enough, to be honest) so thats all the certification I'd need.

Thanks Mavvy. I think what I'll do is set up a free little website via weebly or someone so that details/honesty can be out there.

Another lurker here, just starting my Kondo journey after being inspired by the book and this thread.

I notice you all seem to have the same experience that once you Kondo you dont go back to the clutter. While I do get the joy from the areas of my home that Ive done - I'm really struggling with clothes.

I do the laundry for all 4 in my house (so 5-6 loads a week including towels) and right now, I only Kondo-fold my own. However I hate the folding! So now my clean clothes are piled on a chair waiting to be folded & put back in their rightful spot.

I would love some motivation or ideas to make this easier from all you Konverts! Thanks to all, it's a fascinating thread :T
