It's the joy-net; the internet on steroids.
I'm beaming here, so pleased that I'm not trying on item after item and finding the buttons gaping on the blouses or the trousers about 8 inches from the meeting at my waist.
I've taken 5 in case I implode with sheer joyousness. Have got a system going on my hanging rail in the bedroom alcove, which is 33 inches wide with the rail mounted just below ceiling level.
On the left, I have my coats and jackets, then I have put the tried on formal trousers and skirts and the tried on tailored blouses, not presently fitting me, on white hangers which are reversed.
The items which have suddenly come back into usability are on black or coloured hangers and will be on the far right of the rail (and out and about at the office and elsewhere imminently).
There are a few items on the reversed hangers which do fit just about, but which won't flatter until another stone or so comes off. I have my eye on them for the near-future.
I have decided that a few things which I bought / accepted as cast-offs in bigger sizes with very loose cuts, because they disguised the wobbly bits, can go. Couple of things are too knackered for donation, but a couple of items are perfectly good and will go chazzerwards any day now.
Getting rid of these shroud-type clothes is important to me because I have worn them a lot and am tired of them and associate them with negativity.I have just been posing about in front of the mirror in dressy black trews and some foxy tailored blouses with three-quarter sleeves (my preferred office style) and I am looking pretty darned good, if I may say so myself.:p
And I just did, didn't I? Boy, will the office have a surprise next week when I walk in - the advantage of being very tall is that if you're relatively-slim, you carry clothes well just due to the optical illusion of being about the same height as a fashion model.I'm loving finding my good clothes, the good brands (chazzer-bought) and the linen which I adore as a fabric, so much so I will even iron it (steady on, VJsMum, I do know how to do ironing and have even earned my crust as a wardrobe assistant in a theatre before now).
Happy days indeed.............. :rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I bought a dress at Christmas - bright turquoise but with some lycra content. Good because it's forgiving, bad because it can highlight the 'bad' bits of my body.
Was finding my mostly black wardrobe a bit oppressive but thought the dress wouldn't fit. Tried it earlier in the week and I can get it on. I have worn it because the colour makes me feel good and tried not to look too closely at it in a mirror in case I start self-censoring.
Wore it again today and all anyone else notices is the colour so going to carry on wearing it. I love turquoise - find it healing, glorious and joyous. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Good for you. I love turquoise, too. It reminds me of Greece and sunny weather and happiness.
Actually, my wardrobe is presently turquoise-less, which is something I will look at rectifying if I see something appropriately-joyous in the chazzer.
Go, us! In turquoise.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Well done GQ! A round of applause for you from me :T:T:T
I still have plenty of weight to lose but am now 10lbs lighter and starting to actually feel the benefit! Just like the MK magic of tidying, once you have 'sorted' even a portion of the 'to do' list, whether it's books or weight, you keep that lovely, so I anticipate the same for the weight loss. As we like what we see and the progress we are making, we know we can keep on track, as Mavvy says, and so the Magic continues.
Today I nearly had a kondo fail. I had some lovely Paperblanks journals and other pretty stationery left over from when I used to sell them. I gave a couple of boxes to my sil for her new shop. Sadly the funding ran out for the shop before the business had time to take off and she gave me one box of journals back at the weekend. Well they have been taken to CS this afternoon. They know quality when they see it and were delighted.
My tyre was repaired but both front tyres are getting close to the legal limit. The guy at the local tyre place (not a chain) quoted a good price for replacements (I had already looked online because I could see they were getting faily worn, so I was prepared!), and then refused payment for the repair. I have booked in for the replacements at the end of next week, as he didn't have my preferred brand in stock, it takes a day or two to get them and I need to get the money together! His kind gesture will effectively save me about 10% of the price of the tyres.
Right, must go, I have a patio washer to repair - the jets in the head are not spining. I shall take it apart and try to free it up. There are mutterings about a dry joint, I am sayjng nothingI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Well done GQ :T It's kind of what i did 2 years ago. the weight just steadily came off, a pound a week every week - it was like magic.
A year and a half after more than beating my goal weight, I have kept it off. I started at 11st 8lb (i am 5'7"), and was first of all aiming at 10st 12. Then i dropped it to 10.5 when i reached the first goal easily. Then set it to 10st 4 where it has more or less stayed. if i'm honest I would love to drop another half stone, but am not bothered enough to do anything about it. i was 9 st 7 when I was 18, at 52 I have accepted that i won't see that again (healthily anyway). Last year i wore a bikini on the beach for the first time in 20 years, and got appreciative looks from a couple of blokes (my sort of age, not youngsters)So I am happy with the weight and find it easy to maintain.
Revolting job is done...... :TI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Well done on the continuing weight loss GQ and finding some treasures in your wardrobe! Just to say too Mothernerd that turquoise is a 'universal' colour that suits everybody. I always think it looks so bright and summery too, in fact I'm wearing a turquoise top at the moment. Go for it GQ - you'll look fab in it!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Well done GQ, it's a great feeling!
I'm not sure I've ever owned anything turquoise. Are there any other 'universal' colours, Silvasava?
I'm on a self-imposed fast of No New Clothes - they have to be home made or from a CS. I was given an M&S voucher and I decided that fell outside The Rules (made by me :rotfl:) so I made a rare foray into a large branch near me. I did feel a little twitch when I saw row upon row of new shiny clothes, but a lot of it just isn't my style, and a lot more just feels cheap and flimsy. I hesitated over some linen trousers but then remembered that I have two perfectly good pairs in the wardrobe - post MK, I know exactly what I have as nothing is hidden away.
I left with two plain t-shirts, which will replace two I'm going to throw out, and a pair of tracky bottoms which do not spark joy and will be going back! It's quite refreshing not to want anything more.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
I just realised I inadvertantly told you a porky-pie yesterday - I do have something in turquoise - pair of jammies. No streetwear, tho.
I may, if time and energy bear up, have a cruise around a chazzer if I can get to one just before 5 pm.
Will be wearing a light jacket which I 'found' today, just seasonally-appropriate. Just wish the darned weather would warm up, my lovely new sandals are calling to be worn.
Did a bit of cupboard re-arrangement last night and as a result have caused more chaos in the sitting-room, doesn't the process of getting rid cause temporary muddle and mayhem?
Have also finished a book just before breakfast - I wake early at this time of year - and put it straight into the charity-shop bag. Got to keep things moving, moving things have energy and stationary things become stale and decay.
Have a good day, folks.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Go GQ :T Well done on those kondoed lbs.
And everyone else who is kondoing the lbs:T
Another one here who loves turquoise but saying that I also love Orange,Lime Green and Purple :rotfl:See I told you I was a mad old women.
What KM has taught me (along with iTwin) Is not to care what anyone says or thinksso if you love it go for it
So now I dont give a t*ss and will go for whatever I want to wear.As long as I dont look like mutton dressed as lamb anything goes now. I very very rarely wear Black anymore as before KM nearly everything was Black. Black blends you into the background which was where I wanted to be back then :rotfl::rotfl:
I do still love a quality lbd but just not everyday.
