Mamasava, I fully understand that you'd prefer an experience rather than Stuff and a weekend away would surely provide some lovely memories that last a Long time. Perhaps a hint to DH about your change in mind set post KM might get a result?

The absolutely loveliest thing my DH said to me when we were planning a holiday was that he wanted us to have a couple of weeks that were just the two of us, so we could relax and enjoy doing things together for the whole fortnight. When we are lucky enough to have time away we do chill out and the only time we have ever had a cross word on holiday was when I was exhausted from driving all day and he criticised my parking:mad: (which, btw, is pretty darned good usually, if I say so myself).

I am lucky, I know. I appreciate what I have, which is not masses but it certainly enough, and I reallly appreciate joyous experiences, no matter how small.

Mamasava, it sounds like you are the same, you just want a decent joy to cost ratio! :D
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

. Are there any other 'universal' colours, Silvasava?

From memory when I went to CMB there was a purple which was universal - not quite like this, but similar (I KM'd my swatch card & wallet last year as I hadn't looked at it in 20+ years)

    GQ - well done:j:j

Yes!! That's exactly it! I am quite a frugal person and I really can't handle when money is wasted on gifts of unwanted items. I have said very nicely, that it was too much to spend on me and we could have gone away for that amount of money. It's very unlike him buy me things like this, so hopefully it will be a one-off.

I got side-tracked and I never made it to my kitchen COD today, maybe I'll get to it later but even the thoughts of cooking are tiring me out after not sleeping well last night. Two bags gone to CS that had been hanging around for a while. I have to travel 25 mins to my chosen CS as the local one is overflowing with donations and I'd prefer the guy running the one further away. My local CS have sent some things back before that were really nice and useful items but they are the only CS for miles so they can pick and choose. Although it's not making them very popular around here.

Started on my worst nightmare category of paper on Wednesday but I need to shred an enormous pile now so I think I'm still avoiding it really. My home office is a complete nightmare and I cringe whenever anybody has to go in. I can't even see the desk part of two desks in there. Now with half of the paperwork kondoed from the filing cabinet I hope to clean that room up by end of next week. But for now, kitchen COD is kind of more urgent, as some boxes of bulk-bought food have been lingering around on the floor for several weeks now and I'm tired of looking at them. Especially with the rest of my kitchen looking so tidy after most of it being kondoed a few months ago.

I have realised that when I did the bathroom cabinet I ignored the kitchen first aid box. One of those things you don't think about until you need it right?
So I decided to do all my kits at once while I was thinking about it, including cars and travel and personal. I'm sitting here shocked at the car stuff. Most is still sealed and presumably sterile, but some is dated 2007  and some is dated before 2000:eek::eek: The kits have moved from vehicle to vehicle, and never used, nor looked at by anyone. I haven't done any more yet, but it's likely to be much the same. Do you think anything can still be used, and if not, where the best (cheapest) to get replacement items, or should I perhaps just get a new kit? So glad we haven't needed it, hanging head in shame.

I would say things like still sealed bandages and slings etc will be fine for home emergency use. I'd bin ood lotions potions and antiseptic wipes (as the wipes may be dried out) with first aid kits you are working on buying something in the hope you'll never need it. Works stuff should be in date but at our first aid courses they've made the suggestion that sealed stuff can be passed on to use at home when it reaches its replacement date.

I love turquoise and have a top and long cardi and shoes in this colour. But I don't wear them all together.
I went to Ik ea yesterday and my OH thought I was ill as all I bought were freezer bags and the big blue bags that are so handy to take stuff to the chassers or taking out wet washing to the clothes line.
On the way home visited a distant relative and oo my does her home need Kming. The cleaning is getting too much for her but she has about 200 or more paperweights( says she collects them ) and loads of those tiny little china animals grouped in lots of 6 placed nicely on little mirrors. Every bit of each window sill was filled with bits that need to be kept clean and I shudder at how much time she must spend just dusting.
All my collectables are behind glass all bring joy and are low maintenance.
Knowing her family the whole lot will land in a charity shop one day and she seems to think she needs a cleaner to help dust them. She asked how I manage as I have a big house too and I did try- honestly I did -and but she was horrified when I kind of suggested she kept her window sills clear as they are easier to keep clean.

Mamasaver, on this thread I don't know whether a COD is a 'Chest Of Drawers' or a 'Cupboard Of Doom'! :)

Siebrie - probably Cupboard of Doom!
Feeling g quite chirpy as I've managed to Kondo 2 packs of mince, 2 tins of tomatoes and kidney beans etc into a big pot of Chilli that has been portioned and put in the freezer. Also did a quick freezer tidy up and got rid of some leftover sliced beef that I didn't quite like the look of, mainly cos I couldn't remember how long it had been there and a small pack of spring rolls dated 2007!!!! Everything else is OK though. I also had a lady collect a large bag of plant pots and trays that I'd put on freecycle and I cleared some kipple from the greenhouse. I'm also 'donating' three buckets of cobbles to DS1 that have been kept for Justin.
Greent - hav'n't kondoed my CMB swatch yet - even though I rarely use it these days. I'm a clear winter so most of the cardinal colours and black!

    :) Morning all.

Another warm autumn here. Reddish hair (pure copper as a child), creamy skin tone and green-grey eyes. I really like a bright turquoise but am not sure if it actually suits me, as blues don't. Purplish-burgundy shades work really well, but then they also suit my brunette mother - go figure.

One colour I really really cannot wear anywhere near my face is beige - it reacts with my skin tone and makes me look like I died yesterday. I'd spend the whole time fielding concerned comments from friends and co-workers asking if I was ill.

Was pretty busy all day yesterday and came in after work and then dropped workbag and grabbed pre-prepped donation bag and off to the chazzer. Did manage to get into the Everythng 50p Chazzer for the first time in weeks and came out with a pair of Laura A trousers and a top. Not 100% sure the trousers will fit but for 50p and with no time to try them on - shop about to close - I thought I'd punt it and re-donate elsewhere if necessary.

Another busy day today which may include some gardening - weather's a bit iffy atm so not sure when the gardening will be fitted it. We will see, plenty of Stuff needs doing at home, am losing a floor again.

    Have a good day, folks.

GQ years ago when I got my colours done ( soft summer) I put on the correct colours makeup etc looking good. I was off to the doctors as I had tonsillitis and he said you are not looking ill off u go. So I keep a beige top just for when I want someone to believe I am ill. :D
