Oh no.:( I do like the bath bombs, but I'm not really a fan of a lot of the other stuff they do in Lush.

Same with me too - I'd never had any issue with allergies till I started using their stuff regularly many years ago :( I now have contact dermatitis and have to be very careful with perfumed products...

I also have issues with their advertising - nothing natural about the parabens, unidentified 'fragrance' and colourings, and 'safe synthetics' some of their stuff has. Just because it's made 'fresh' doesn't mean it's not full of questionable stuff!

And they way they get people to sign up to some of their campaigns willly-nilly chugger-style. I did ask them once whether they would prefer drones to be shot down, or actual people in planes...:o

Many years ago we stayed at the Stratford Hotel in San Francisco, which is right next door to a Lush store. The incredibly small room stank of the Lush smell they seem to pump out the door (seems to be exactly the same everywhere). Anywhere since that OH and I have walked past Lush, one or other of us will say - Stratford Hotel - the smell is imprinted in our brains, and not in a nice way! Never been into one of the shops, can't abide the smell!

My husband had to pick something up from a unit near to the Poole factory on a wet day and the entire area stank of it... Even weirder is that the factory for Bomb cosmetics is only a few miles from the Lush factory, but doesn't seem to make such a smell - we used to live near it!

Back on topic though, I keep finding old, gone off Lush products hidden in places that I'd forgotten about...

Parted with a pair of long suede boots , I do love them but when I put them on to go to party on Friday, I found they felt very wobbly! :o the soles are so worn there's a piece of metal sticking out and the heels worn on the inner edge .They are v old so I thanked them and they're gone.

As hols are getting nearer, sorted my holiday clothes to see what I'm taking with me :D unfortunately didn't find anything to go but 1 sundress , I bought when I was thinking I was still trendy :rotfl:

I'm still wearing my winter coat, although the sun is warm the wind is bliddy cold for my chilly !!!!
Sent 3 books round to my niece, haven't been reading for a while so picked 1 up and got part way through when I realised I'd read it! Same with the 2nd one!! Read the 3rd, am now on a 4th. Which will follow it's shelf companions in due course. I don't buy books now as I have a kindle but dd1 brings hers to me which I then pass on to family.
Very windy today I have a hotpot in oven for tea so it's taking the chill off the room, but my hands are frozen, so off to make a brew.

  • A few years back my husband bought (in my absence) two cushions for the living room "because they match the curtains".

No they didn't and now look shabby. He's out of the country for a couple of weeks. They're in the bin. :rotfl:

Mrs Mp I am the clothes queen as we all know :rotfl:I am also the steam mop queen (sad and also weird)

I have had about everyone on the market :rotfl:But always go back to the H2o x 5 I think its by far the best but the handle is pretty filmsy if you are heavy handed like me. But you can now buy replacement handles for a few quid so others are also heavy handed.
The shark is far to heavy and gets too wet for my liking (kondoed to my Dads ) and I use it down there about once every two weeks.
Vax very good but never last long (in my case) and always block with limescale if they are moved about much :(
Never get one which you have to put the pads on it with velcro or elastic (I always called it 'putting its knickers on' as it drives me mad go for one that that it just sits on the pad.

I always use half distiled water now and half tap and it seems to keep them going longer :( and never put zoflora in the water (its a sure way) to b*gger them up ;) I have learnt that one pretty sharpish :D

:rotfl:I must have my mind in the gutter today I read that and sniggered as recently the thread has had loads of personal mantainance type posts. Sorry:o

Thanks for the steam mop advice Mavvy, I definately think I need one.

Just back in from work so need to do some stuff now and think about what's for tea.

    Hope all are well.

    :) Afternoon all.

'Tis freegle a-go-go with one thing leaving whilst I was at work (have a little outdoor hidey-hole to leave things in) and another thing requested and now out in the same place, probably will be taken tonight.

Only one item still up for grabs; as sod's law dictates, it is the biggest of the three.

An Official Document whose lack was causing me some low-level anxiety has arrived in today's post but I am still missing my Official EU Grubbyment Propaganda. And there's me sat here with the Freepost address on my desk waiting to mail it back to Millbank. Rats, why are they denying me my fun? Am I not good enough to be propagandized-to?:rotfl:

Worked my way through some more scrap paper in workplace notetaking, then it all goes into confidential shredding. I like to repurpose paper and envelopes for this to save brand-new paper.

Had a chat this aft with a pal who may well be bringing me some spare fenceposts from his farm, if he can get them up to town in his car. I won't count my chickens until they're hatched but it would be a real money-saver and very helpful, and positively woo.:j

Heard from the homestead that Mum finally got around to offering SIL her pick of the excess bedlinen and several pairs of sheets have been re-homed. They have only been sitting around hogging one of the two linen baskets since I was up the loft in about September......... she's getting there slooowly, bless her.

;) We frisked the basket to make sure there were no mummified sparrows in it before it left, of course.

  • Mrs MP, I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a dirty snigger when reading Mavvy's post!

However, thanks for the advice Mavvy, I have a steam mop and love it, but yes it is the sort that wears 'knickers' and they're a faff! I'll steer clear of Zoflora but I did put a few drops of essential oil in after a random cat came in and sprayed in my kitchen.

And Mrs MP, you're absolutely right about enjoying the journey, and not waiting for the destination.

My woo atm is from things being easy despite an unexpected energy crash yesterday - collapsed in bed, couldn't move for hours type of crash.

I love Lush, I get bad reactions to lots of artificial fragrances and colours but have not (yet?) had a reaction to lush products. Though that is totally dependent on what different people react to ofc

I seem to have done all the easy wins kondo-wise, perhaps time to use up some yarn that totally counts ;)
