KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Mavvy, I'm so glad you mentioned iQueen, your iTwin. I read the whole of the original thread and wrote in a notebook some chunks of her great advice and encouragement. I wondered if she was OK and PM'd her, but she may not be on MSE any more. I too miss her, yet I never met her. Funny isn't it?
My youngest son came home for a visit last weekend, for the first time since I began Kondoing. He says the house looks bigger. I gave him a copy of MK's first book, of which he says he read half at the first sitting. He is 'considering' having a clear out this weekend. Meanwhile my eldest son is 'minimalising' in anticipation of moving to smaller accommodation from his current home. I'm still waiting for warmer weather to drag everything out of the garage and the shed and have a good clean out of the space, but I made a start in the shed yesterday and mowed the back lawn.
Re. enjoying the journey, I'm finding the same. The destination keeps changing as I realise that I have no real reason for keeping things that escaped the cut the last time. By the time I've finished I may move, as I have not really settled in the thirteen years I have lived here, but I don't currently have any idea where I would like to live. My thinking has changed a lot during the KM process.
MK says herself, in this recent YooToob video 'in a nutshell, my tidying is not just about tidying, physically, but tidying up your life, your self and facing yourself'. It's powerful stuff. 'Anyone can do it if they have the commitment'. Marie made the comment about tidying, but it takes commitment to face your own inner clutter. I have been moving at a snail's pace, but still moving forward. I do so much more on a sunny day, like yesterday.0 -
So still catching up on previous posts, but did receive one piece of good news today. I passed my latest ACCA exam. That's all the F papers done n dusted. Also happy n relieved. 5 exams left but won't be taking them until December, all dependent on how OH is.
Am another one who is not a fan of lush either.
Hope all are well and happy.

Charis not funny at all.You meet people in RLor not who you never forget as they impact on your life in some way. And our iQueen (iTwin) Was one of thoseHow lucky are we in being able to take on board her wise words and advice.
She invented the 'woo' factor and lets hope she is having plenty of those with her new grandaughter

I often think of iqueen and hope all is well in her world
Been in the fabric stash this morning and made a start on some sewing for the hospital. At some point got mils cleaning to do then a gardening session with the kids at school - will squeeze paid stuff in as well. But doubt I'll have time to kondo much today.
Have a joyful day all.SPC~12 ot 124

I like Lush stuff in the bath, but I did used to have essential oils in the bath, but the problem is my husband can't stand the smell of essential oils!
It's strange the way some people can be so sensitive to smells. I can't stand to walk through the perfume section in department stores as it makes me feel like I'm going to be sick.
I'm debating what to do with a foot scraping thing I bought, its absolutely useless and I assume it can't be recycled so it may have to be binned. I think an old fashioned pumice stone works better.0 -
I am another one who hates the smell as you walk passed Lush sneeze sneeze cough - I even smell it now as I think about it. The shop in Aberdeen is a couple of doors away from my fav shoe shop and I sometimes think I can smell their bath bombs even in that shop. Am redoing t shirts this week -they do bring joy but haven't worn them for weeks so have taken a few out to wear and if it's taken off as soon as it's tried on or is too short then it's in the CS box.
My 2 GDs went home with loads of handbags after their stay last week so that is easy KMing.
Redid my toiletbag for holidays and have loads of showers gels shampoos etc so will offer them to a few pals this Friday when we all meet for a coffee.
I have very sensitive skin so dermol or e45 is all I can use or a itch and get angeodema.0 -
I was a bit too quick with laundering all my winter coats (3) and putting them in the attic, but it was easy to retrieve one of them for today.
Last year I did not wear a summer coat at all, just fleece cardis, rain coats (when wet outside), thick jumpers and wide woollen scarves. It actually worked quite well.

Just got my payslip and am still (by a tiny whisker) paying income tax so will still be able to use my gift aid registration at the chazzer. This means that the bagful of items pending can leave in the next day or so.
I just need to iron a few freshly-washed things before adding them. There's nothing like wearing an iffy item for a few hours to identify if it really is a keeper or has to go a kondo-ing down the road to live with someone else.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
