Sorry Mavvy mentioned you but realised it is pollys friends who's wanting persuasion to get her shirts made into a throw. Sorry for confusion.

Just spent a couple of hours sitting on landing with knitting and stitching mags. I've got a stack about 4ft high to kondo off to the CS and whittled my keepers down to about a 1ft pile still have about another 2 feet worth to work through.
I'm feeling so much lighter seeing the huge amount that can be boxed up ready to leave.
Just time for another coffee before work.

I hugely agree with the ' things in the way preventing tasks being easy'. This was one of the reasons I became determined to kondo - I need to spend my energy as efficiently as possible. So if I can reach the laundry basket easily, I'm more likely to have enough energy to put a wash on. Or being able to see all my clothes meaning that I don't forget I own things while my brain isn't functional

Having a tiny kitchen is helping as I can't own available huge number of dishes so there is a limit to how much washing up can build up :D

Good idea to get it all done if you can, don't want all that disruption again if you get a shower later and probably cheaper to do it now. Have you got to the stage where you wish you hadn't started? I normally hit that and things start to get better.

I agree it's cheaper to do it now... but it's just another decision to make! I need to decide on tiles, wall colour and woodwork colour by the end of tomorrow.

And I regularly reach the stage where I wish I hadn't started. But I do at least now have two bedrooms and a bathroom finished. I'm just hoping I can make it through to upstairs being done and then I'll be happy to wave the builders off for a bit while I save up for downstairs to be done!
  • Ok - so i disappear to work and offline for a few days and have more posts to catch up on! LOL :rotfl:
Will I ever catch up! (Shrugs) Who knows
Welcome to all the newbies & hello to all.
    Condolences to Tete.
Tete - I salso have War & Peace to watch and a whole load that i recorded from last Christmas and also Deutchland 83 (i have been told that is V good too). Too much to watch and not enough time or at the moment, the inclination either.

I also started with my knicker drawer and also OH's. They are both very neat & tidy. Also, it makes it easier when putting things away and working out which are on their way out etc.

I too have found it easier, to wash, dry & put away my clothes, now that I don't have all those extra clothes in the vacupacs anymore. All seasons I one wardrobe. Only have the indian clothes to do now - that is one that I am not sure on what to do with as yet. There is an Indian charity near me, or should I just wait til someone goes to India and pass it onto them then? Decisions, decisions...

Have a good rest of the day all.

Some more vet bills into recycling bin. No point in keeping them. I get so many flyers through the door that I usually take the recycing out a couple of times a day.

I've kondo'ed the heating as it is warm here today.:D

Oh I know what you mean about decisions. When I was buying paint for the bedroom I had a shock, I couldn't believe how many different shades of white there were to choose from. I mean you think what could be easier than buying a tin of white paint but no, there is brilliant white, pearly white, snowy white, antique white, natural white, calico white, cotton white. I nearly had a funny turn.

Have you got any ideas on colours? I usually start with the tiles as I think its easier to match the paint to the tiles rather than the other way round.

I'm sure it will all be lovely in the end and then you can relax and enjoy it.

Tiles will be white, but I've found some which have a lustre print on which I hope will be nice. And some slightly textured ones for the floor. I'm a bit nervous about ordering, so need to check returns policy. Walls will be a cranberry colour. Not sure about the panelling. But there's quite a bit to do before we get to that!

I feel long I've stalled atm, this is definitely affected by my current mood so I'll try to remind myself of all the improvements. Kondo when there is no joy is difficult to maintain. Friends have suggested buying myself a treat - pretty sure that would bring in complicated anti-woo feelings and then guilt.

Your friends are right, but rather than buying something how about buying an experience such as a trip to the theatre or local museum or take a taxi somewhere instead of the bus or maybe a massage/facial? Something that you'd not normally do but would love to do occasionally? Or if you'd rather not spend any money at all is there a park you could go and sit in next time there's a sunny day?

I find that with being tied to my home so much due to fatigue etc that just a change of scenery has a big impact on how I feel.
Not as bad as my Granny though - I was putting her shopping away yesterday when I noticed a very 'retro' looking pot of ground ginger - September 2002! At least it's from this side of the millennium I suppose! :rotfl:

I did find something from 1997 when I did my food cupboards :o and I also have some cloves without a date on so have no idea how old they are - when did dates first start appearing? When I last visited my aunt's house I found something with a shillings and pence price label on in her food cupboard .

The woo factor is still at work - I have three lots of spices which need to be used up and having written them down a few days ago, I have now stumbled upon a recipe which uses all three and we have the fresh ingredients in to make it tonight.

The two new bags definitely spark joy and are much easier for me to use. 2 out of the 3 old ones are now ready to go out and my handbag just needs emptying out into the new one.

Need to tidy up for a visitor tomorrow afternoon and so far in the process have found a pot of nearly finished face cream which has gone hard. Will empty that later so the pot can go into recycling. Hope to find lots more to go.

:D Heh, thanks, mrs-moneypenny, I have noted that address and will use it myself when my bit of carp arrives and share it as widely as possible. How lovely to think of 30 Millbank being swamped with the bliddy things instead of the local autorities having to recycle them. And am I correct is assuming that they have to pay for us using the Freepost? Double-joyousness from my point of view.

Have just wrapped a gift from the stash for a friend with a card from the stash, some re-purposed florist's wrap and a home-made tag. Looks very nice and total cost probably under 5p (the card being one of a selection box). One has to discharge one's social duties without busting one's bank, doesn't one?;)
