    Morning

The little chair i rescued from the skip went yesterday - a couple of coats of chalk paint and a "finish" and it looked fab. Can't just go to the chazzer with one thing, so scouted round some shelvees and found a few books and a DVD - it included 2 bibles, we have about a dozen bibles in our house, given at various times for various things. Not being particularly religious, none get read but i still felt mean getting rid - but i haven't been struck by lightning yet :D A cardi was going to go, but i tried it on and still love it so it's reprieved, i just don't have much for it to go with. I will see how it gets on over the next month or so and see if it can stay permanently. I think it might be part of the aspirational "Parisian chic" me, that is some way from the reality "jeans and hoodie" me of everyday.....

I also have a dress that is a justin dress. I can't really see me choosing to wear it, but if i have an interview or have to give a presentation, then it will do. I think one dress is ok...

There is only the office left to do in this house - I keep putting it off, not sure why :/ Come on Marie, I need you to show me the way....
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Well done, Tete!

I've taken one book off the bookshelf to put in the bag for the secondhand store :) You're moving faster than me at the moment!

Those little bits really add up - at the end of February, it was an achievement for me to do ten minutes shrub pruning in the garden, and now I'm on the second to last bit ... I can't tell you how different it looks!

Woo happening with dh - stuff is being put away/sorted. Yay.

Oh no 'trouble at mill' at my favourite CS:( Popped in this morning just for a mooch and the off chance they had my next book for reading group.....I noticed that a couple of items I dropped in lat week where out for sale but did not have my Gift Aid code on. Pointed this out o the person who seemed to be in charge and got a real sorry tale: The very enthusiastic effusive new manager appointed in January has left and place in state of flux regarding volunteers and paid staff so mistakes a re being made. She apologised and we wet round the shop retrieving my donations so the code could be added. Bit of a shame as the shop is looking good and is very popular. I hope they find someone soon..........didnt find the book but did find a joyful skirt perfect for summer wear at work :)

Well done tete at least you have made a step in the right direction. It doesn't matter how slowly you go it's not a race and soon you will start noticing a difference in your home and your attitude towards it. One day you will get up to this gorgeous home that you just love and I look forward to hearing about that day xx

Not much kondoing gone on here this week as been really busy with work, hopefully I'll get more time next week.

Because I've been so busy (and because OH works away from home in the week so I tend to wash at the weekend when he brings his stuff home), the washing has been building up. It's a good way of showing me that although I KM'd my underwear a few weeks back and got rid of a load of bras to charity, I still have quite a few I'm reluctant to pick out of the drawer, I know it's because they've shrunk a bit in the wash and aren't comfortable. They'll have to go and I'll have to get some more that fit better.

Letting the washing build up a bit has shown me there's still more work required on letting go of clothes.

    Hello all!
Thank you for the warm welcome earlier in the week. :)
I've just finished with a busy week of school teaching, and am really pleased with myself in that my living room is still tidy and "school stuff" free!

I've been having a bit of a difficult time at work at the moment, and I had remembered a quote I read years ago, I think it was Einstein, who said something like "if you want things to change, you have to make a change". And the discovery of the Kondo method has been just the thing I need!
Little successes I've had this week include:
-Dealing with items of post the day they come in.
-After finishing with any necessary school work in the evenings, putting everything I've been using away.
-Looking for, and doing, those "I'll just do that quickly now" jobs, rather than leave them to build up for another time.

I've also found the Kondo-ing is easily transferring to my classroom! Honestly, it hasn't looked this good since I took it over in September! To date, I have quietly disposed of 5 large bags of junk! I've been dedicating about 15 minutes after school every day to just scooting around and tidying the place. Anything I find that's out of place, gets put away straight away! It's great. :D

:) Err, what's a ginnel when it's at home? Something like an alleyway?

Went for a bit of a chazzer crawl this aft (I know, the shame, the shame :o) and came away with a useful little Addis plastic pot. I like this brand and the pot which I use for my workplace lunch is dying on me (lid splitting) so wasn't going to pass by its replacement when it presented itself for 25p.

Oh, and I bought a lovely top, and I am going to hiff out 4 less-lovely tops so it can have pride of place in my life. Going to have things which fit and really suit me, and at £2.50 in as-new condition, it was a really great buy. See, I can self-justify for England........... :rotfl:

Other than that decision-making, haven't really kondo'd anything at all today, have been out from before 9 until nearly 5 pm, and came home and decided to have an early bath and attend to various bits of self-maintenance.

Y'know, after a certain age, it can feel a bit like re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, but you have to make a bit of an effort or you can end up going all Wurzel Gummidge before you know where you are.

Took a taxi to mum's today as I took her half of the filing and two large bags full (one a laundry type bag with several other bags inside) of assorted items (including sewing machine accessories, grandma' workbox and an embroidered cloth I did when I was 17) which came from the hovel but not passed on until there was more space at the bungalow.

Whilst I was there I have put the baking items she is keeping away in one of the bed drawers. The workmen doing her yard and transforming the back bedroom window into French windows have started so the 'spare' bedroom was fuller than usual - I had to drag an 8' long airer out into the front room to find various cake tins. Finished emptying a large box (has been there for about six weeks and no one else has dealt with it) and put one of the bags I had taken in there instead.

Had fun as two of the large builders bags of decorative stones were delivered and the 3 year old and myself had to stand at the far side of the yard and direct the driver as he swung them over the fence with his crane to put them in the only available space (that would not have been in the way of the area being worked on).

Later the workers came to leave the 'wacker' (vibrating plate) which someone had said they could leave inside. Mindful of the state of the 'spare' room I persuaded them that it would be fine hidden in the corner of the yard as the gate is usually padlocked (only open for the deliveries).

Have brought home yet another bag filled with things for the charity shop.

Builder is going to call tomorrow to see what I need doing at my house so need to get my act together. Hoping to rope in the visitors for DS3's birthday (next weekend) into moving the heavy stuff for me.:rotfl:
