:) That Justin is a beggar, isn't he, needing all this Stuff kept for him. We should make him take it all back to his own house and then he'd see how he managed, huh!

Nipped into a shop today and looked at some Stuff. It was good enough but it didn't wow me (clothes and footwear). So I left it on the shelves and racks, thinking that I'd rather wait until the right thing comes along that just make do with something good enough.

Haven't been kondo-ing much other than scrap paper and pencils, books from the to-be-read shelf down into the chazzer bag once read. Place is staying so-so tidy as I've not been well enough to do much more this week than work-eat-sleep.

I did deal with an item of post as soon as I got hold of it today. The bit which needs to be returned is in its envelope and will be posted tomorrow, and the envelope and unnecessary enclosures are already in the recycling bin.

Time was, that'd've loitered around the place for a couple of weeks' worth of procrastination, annoying me every inch of the way. Now, pfft! and it's gone.

Morning kondoers shops everyone is well, busy day here so I'll catch up with you all later.
Bathroom planning went brilliantly last night, loads of great ideas were given and friends Dh has made some great suggestions.
Best of all he's doing it while we're away and offered to get a bigger skip and leave it for two weeks so we can fill it up once he's finished with it.
And woo has given me an extra day a week temp cover work to help pay for it.

    Have a great day all.

DH's birthday went well except I made a cake that didn't rise properly (think I put it in oven before it was hot enough, Doh) so then I made another cake! Second version was, thankfully, very nice :D

I'll freeze the fail and use it in a trifle :rotfl:

He got 6 new t-shirts from his family. SIX. I shall be having a little chat with him at the weekend, once birthday celebrations are over, about releasing some less joyful T's ASAP!

A neighbour sent some HM chilli round because it is too hot. We agree!! Have frozen it and will take to nephew tomorrow, he'll love it. Kondo joy all round :D

Not much has left the house in the last few days, just some foodie gifts.

Confession: We have bought a bespoke log store for the logs to dry out in during summer (summer, she says optimistically!). We have very limited space and plenty of stone walls that are not conducive to drying breezes flowing over logs, so a perfect, made to measure wooden log store is now situated in the 'wind tunnel' narrow gap down the side of the ginnel.

Mrs MP, sounds like a plan is coming together, and Woo with the extra temp hours!

    Morning kondoers.
Another full day here so won't be in till later.
Teacher has asked if I can make superhero capes for school role play so that will use up some stash, will get onto that over the weekend.
Dh wants to go did shop and buy a big piece of wood to repair garage door panel, so will get more compost while I'm there garden is beginning to take shape.
Need to get garden canes From mils garage for school over weekend and taking some seeds and seed potatoes into school today to do gardening with kids in golden time.

I did kondo 3 sad and tired looking house plants in the week, mInly because I needed room on my window sill for the seedlings I'm bring on, but the rooms look strangely better with out them. They we very leggy and dusty looking despite being given care and a wash.

Plan to pull CS run in as well tomorrow to offload the mags and a few other bits, it will be worth going as I've got about 4 boxes full.

House is starting to look more spacious, I am getting there abet slowly.

    Have a joyful day all

Well done on all the bathroom decisions Mrs MP. I've made some of mine (bought tiles, decided where most things go) but am still working out paint colours and need to get a new ceiling light as the old one isn't suitable. I also need to make decisions on paint colours for the bedroom.

I cleared the sitting room (mostly) last night (rest needs to be done this morning) as wiring and pipework are being dropped down from above while the floor is up. This makes sense (even though the sitting room won't be done for another year or so unless I win the lottery...) but the thought of all the dust when I get back on Monday is depressing. Particularly as I'll be here very briefly and then away for work for a few days so won't have time to deal with it.

Bathroom is going to have plenty of storage (some of it built in at this stage) as now the layout has been changed there is lots of room in there. The bedroom is also getting some built in shelving in an alcove that has previously been unusable.

A large mirror is hopefully leaving the house today to go to a friend.

The skip outside is filling up nicely :)

    :) Going great guns, greenbee.

Wanna laff? Put the small envelope mentioned yesterday into my (large) jacket pocket intending to post it on the way up the road to work. Got to the post box and found it had somehow fallen out in the previous 200 yards - spontaneous self-kondo-ing.

Union ballot paper so nothing confidential linking it back to me, no time to walk back to try and find it and it wasn't there 7 hours later when I came back home. It's a well-trafficked route and some kind soul may have picked it up and slung it into the postbox in passing, otherwise it's lost for good.

    :o Never done that before.

Today I will be out all day and have collated the recyclables to sling into the communal bins on my way out of the block.

And, get me, I have washed up and swabbed the decks in the kitchen, just like a proper adult and have also cleaned the sink. This rate, I'll be able to join the flyladies or summat.

Righty, onwards and upwards. Have a good one, lovely peeps. GQxx

Lots of great kondoing and home revamping going on. I am struggling a bit, so many areas just look messy as I haven't been able to devote the time this last couple of weeks for a "clean sweep" so as I am kondoing I am changing where some of it is stored. Have friends here to lunch on Sunday so must somehow sort some of it, don't want to revert to temporary solutions of bunging stuff into boxes and carrier bags though, been far too good at that over the years.:o

Right, time to get stuck in:D catch up with everyone later.

Funny you say that GQ - I have just been searching for the Flylady thread on the forum! I am a lot tidier than this time last year, which is great but housework is not my strength, and I am beginning to realise that I need a rota of some sort. I tend to wait until it really, REALLY needs doing, then it's hard work and I feel resentful. The kitchen worktops are always clean, I hasten to add, but the floor ... not so much.

Greenbee, you are doing so well - it's going to be fabulous when it's done, well worth all the upheaval. I've been trying to get a quote to get my bathroom done for about a year but I lack motivation!

Hi Tete, I know exactly what you mean, you can't do anything because it's such a faff to do just ONE thing...it does get easier though. A few weeks ago I actually could not go from a- b without tripping over stuff I was sorting, or needing to find a home for.

YES, that's me at the moment! There's a bit of a clear run in the kitchen and living room, and up the stairs to the bathroom, but otherwise I'm stepping over things left, right and centre. I almost had a nasty fall yesterday when I overstepped and slipped on the wood floor with my stockinged foot. If I hadn't caught myself I would have landed on my back on the wooden bedpost

Congrats on the new job! :D

Well I have made a start! Realised yesterday that the recycling is due today and it's the first garden waste collection of the year so that prompted me to prune/hack to pieces a well overgrown buddleia and bag it up. At first I was thinking, "*SIGH* But I don't know where the secateurs are..." but I made myself just have a look and they were in the greenhouse, dead easy. I just hope they take it away now as it's not in the designated garden bags, just plain old binbags. As I was working I was reminded of the flappy panel on the gate, so I saw to that as well. Then I came indoors and changed a lightbulb that blew about two weeks ago.

It feels a bit pathetic to come on here and 'announce' that I've tidied the garden and changed a lightbulb, but that's how I've been lately and I do feel proud to have made a bit of a start :T

This morning my laptop started making a funny noise which made me think it's going to give up the ghost pretty soon (I've suspected it for a while) so I quickly gathered all my files and saved them to some sort of 'cloud' so I don't lose them, and I feel good about that too. Now I just need to find Dad's laptop and charger and start using that instead ... and find somewhere to recycle this one :rotfl:

Now to tackle my clothes piles, I'm on a roll :D
