We received our "it cost £9m of taxpayers money" booklet today. DH almost chucked into the recycling as it came with the other junk mail delivered by our Postie. Not quite sure if I want to read it...

Send it back and say you didn't want it, if you put in in an envelope with no stamp it won't cost you-I'm not putting my details on just saying it wasn't needed wanted or asked for.

:) I shall do that with mine when it gets here. The thing I had today was from the HQ of a political party here in the city.

I've just lost 2.5 hours due to stumbling through to the bedroom to make my bed just before 5 pm, deciding it looked too nice to make and lying down for a wee nap. Ye gods and little fishes, haven't done that for a while, still feel tired and jet-lagged.:rotfl:

    Hi all!

I just wanted to pop in and say hi. :) I finally got around to purchasing the Marie Kondo book last week, and immediately sprang into action! I'd wanted to read it for a while, because I was becoming increasingly dissatisfied with my living space. Basically it was getting over-taken with unnecessarily junk.
So within the space of a few hours, I threw away 3 full bin bags of just nonsense. Then yesterday I got rid a bin bag of clothes and folded my drawer of tops according to Marie's methods of folding! I also threw away an old rug that's been rolled in the corner of my living room for nearly 2 years!

But the best thing? After being a primary school teacher for nearly 6 years, I, for the first time ever, have FINALLY banished EVERYTHING school-related from my living room! For YEARS I've wanted just this little space to be somewhere totally school-free, and I've finally done it! I'm so pleased with myself!

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and well done to everyone "kondo-ing!"

    :j:beer::T Well done, flubberyzing!

That's some serious kondo-ing. More power to your elbow. Watch out for the Woo Factor, surprising things happen after a kondo bath.....

Hmmm, that might have been a different kind of bath altogether, gosh, I am still asleep on my feet.:rotfl:

  • Great name, flubberyzing!

Mrs MP, thanks for the advice. I'm off to Pinterest - didn't think of looking there.

I'll have to take it in myself tomorrow.

Mrs MP, you should seriously consider the t-shirt memory quilt as a business. It is a fantastic idea brilliantly executed. :T:T:T

    and that's all folks!

Have not recovered from champagne and cakes yester! My friends, like me, can talk for Britain and the whole afternoon tea thingy lasted (wait for it) seven hours :D:D:D As predicted the various gourmet sandwhiches and fairly large variety of cakes were all Kondo'd along with the champers and a fab time was had by all. The prep, which I loved, and the hosting, which I also loved took its toll today as I did 4 hours cleaning and 2 hours assisting someone shopping. I'm off to bed!

    Hello all!

Flubber I love the idea of bin bags full of 'nonsense'!

I love all the stitchy/knitty talk :) Vast amounts of my clutter is actually wool and fabric :o I'd love to have a go at crocheting some Innocent hats - is there a deadline or do they take them all year round at this stage?

Well I confess I haven't managed to put any clothes away today but I did do three loads of washing, had a big old clean of the kitchen (including the bin), went to a yoga class, and made some baked oats for tomorrow's breakfast so I feel accomplished.

I was musing to myself as I was washing up, about the lawn getting long and I thought, "Why don't I JUST DO IT? Instead of thinking about doing it, just do it??" and the answer is because I know the shed door is wedged shut after all the rain we had over winter (I know because I tried to put a rake away a few weeks ago) and I can't face tackling that. It's the same with everything in this house - every simple job is made harder by something else adding to it, usually because everything's in such disarray, that I can't face doing anything at all. Does that make sense? Is that how you feel/have felt? Blergh.

Anyway I'm off to bed, off for a day out tomorrow, in the pouring rain by the looks of it. Sweet dreams all!
