I store all my rock/ pop/ indie CDs in alphabetical order (used to do the same with vinyl and cassettes from when I was about 13), followed by classical. followed by compilations, followed by Xmas ones
Oh - and I'd personally never not store them in the cases

We dont have a huge amount of CDs or DVDs so dont see it as a problem - DD2 and I do a like a 'physical' presence of either and like to see them lined up on the shelf or in the wooden CD racks we have from eyekeeya. However DD1 and OH are very much store everything digitally - memory sticks, pods, phone or just on the laptop/tablet........or just stream live.:o and TBH with that and blue tooth, its rare we open a CD/DVD. But the collection is small so its not an issue for me. Our digital collection must now be huge..................
DD1 has left her collection of about 20 DVDs with us BTW, with instructions she wants to keep them. When asked why she rolled her eyes.........nope I dont know why either, seeing she has everything digitised! Secretly I thinkshe too likes a 'physical' DVD. But again, a very small collection compared to most:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Well, things take another turn at Parental home - yesterday's spring clean (phase one!) went very well, although when mum noticed the bath was sparkling it did cause concern in case it's too slippy - I have unfurled and re-positioned the bath mat so she should be OK! Phase 2 has to wait!till tomorrow because it was another beautiful sunny day here and I just had to get outside rather than waste the joyful sunshine! Soooo, DH and I have done some garden kondo-ing.
We also mended a downpipe that had come adrift, cut back a clematis that was dragging the washing line down and sat for a while watching a lovely frog who was enjoying the pond (now
cleared out and topped up by DH).
I should say that this was a less energetic day than yester and we even fitted in a trip to a nearby beach so we could just sit and watch the sea birds for half an hour (almost no pies hot from the local bakery were eaten while we were there).
Have Kondo'd Dad off to his room so he can watch tv for a while before bo-bo's. He can't manage the stairs anymore so we've set him up in the snug and he's got a lovely view AND he can see any visitors as they approach.
Having rested my cleaning arms today I have been tasked with cleaning the tiled walls in the Victorian kitchen tomorrow. Of course, as you will imagine, the ceiling is at least 12 feet high so I am not so overjoyed at the prospect.
Mum cheerfully informed me, when I baulked at the job, that she just climbs on the kitchen
worktops to clean the highest tiles :eek::eek: She's 76, quite frail and can't see very well ....
i shall be using a proper ladder and, hopefully, if we can find it in the pantry of doom..... a steam cleaner she swears she saw ' a couple of months ago' (read, some time this century!).
Wish me luck and a head for heights:rotfl:

MMF - I think I'd feel safer on the worktops/cabinets than a ladder as there's more space for my feet
and less climbing too.
Am back looking after my friend again - vicious food poison this time. Her husband and another friend are packing as they are moving in a few weeks. Such bad timing for them:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Busy day here workwise so not much achieved on the KM front, but joy experienced with the newly painted bath panel. I pulled off the masking tape and it looks really good (can thoroughly recommend using Frog Tape, no paint bleed underneath it at all).
My aim for this week will be to clear my desk top of all the kipple, even if it means cheating and shoving some of it into a box to deal with later. I've come to the conclusion I'm never going to get OH to buy into this system and deal with his sh*t tip of an office, whilst mine looks untidy. Mine's better than it was, but a long way from minimalist.

dragonette, I can understand the logic of standing on the worktop rather than ladder (I should have said, it's a giant step ladder, btw), but having climbed on to worktop in the past and found that I still couldn't reach the ceiling that doesn't really work in here. Also, this particular wall has a bit with no worktop into a bay with tiles above, a range cooker that also with tiles above, and a sink so there's not that much worktop! No idea how mum managed........ I am looking at it now with trepidation. I'll start as soon as everyone breaks fast so I don't lose my nerve! :rotfl:
Slinky, we used Frog Tape on our windows during recent deco of LR. I was very sceptical because it is more expensive than ordinary masking tape but, as you say, there was no paint bleed, and it came off easily when I left it on for a few days in between coats. We thought it was worth the extra. It is a shame they market it in a plastic case - it's not the sort of case I would re-purpose, wrong shape and it's opaque so would need labelling.
GQ, hope your day is more sane than yesterday must have been re the workload!
I hope you have a least one joyful experience today, Everyone!

I like to travel, not been able to do alot in recent years due to husband's disability, but if I can I like to get a cheap flight to a nice European city and travel around a bit maybe flying back from another city. I travel light, only ever take what I can easily carry and it must be in a bag that is ok for hand luggage on a budget airline. I also like being able to pick my bag up and go without waiting for baggage to appear. A kindle has been a great buy as carrying a few books could make my bag heavy. The main point is I save old undies/nighties and use them on trips so they get thrown out when I have worn them and it means I don't have loads of washing when I get back and I have a little bit of space in my bag to bring back a few souvenirs. I prefer this to just throwing them away as I feel they have had a useful end.
The downside is if I ever have an accident when travelling I will be shamed at the hospital but its a risk that's worth it for me.Sell £1500

:rotfl: that's a great tip for anyone who travels, I think I'd risk the shame!
Slinky, I understand the impetus to clear the desktop but I counsel strongly against the 'hide it away till later' approach. It's what has led me into problems in the past! Tackle at least one sub-category and you'll feel better about it.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
I don't pack anything I don't think I will use. If I come home with an unused item I feel I have failed. I have to take a regular medication and I even count out the tablets so I don't carry an extra, well I do have one extra in case of delays but that is it. I think I might be a bit OTT about it.Sell £1500
