If I find one online I like the look of, I'll just print it off and use it. If it gets used several times and starts looking grotty, but is obviously a keeper, I'll print another copy off and laminate it that point. I don't bother laminating anything I'm not absolutely sure I'll keep using. They live in an A4 card folder in the rack with the cookery books.

I picked up a laminator machine for a fiver at Tesco and the pockets are really cheap.

I love my laminator, it has had so much use and I have had it for over 15 years. If anyone has children's drawings that they don't know what to do with but don't want to throw them out you can laminate them and use them as placemats, they are nice and bright, useful and the kids love them.

Morning all, welcome FLA25, thanks for the specsavers tip was only wondering who would take them recently! I have been there for eye test couple of weeks ago and didn't notice anything! Haha !
Re the charity bags through the door I often put extra out with the one they leave either tying something to top to let them know it's for them or asking neighbours if they aren't using theirs.
Igamogam careful bringing extra storage in ! Unless you are getting rid of something less joyful !
I too get twitchy can't wait to throw things out :T I've been known to wonder round looking what else can go .
Yesterday was productive in the garden, I dug up and moved a few shrubs and divided some zebra grass, whilst OH power washed the patios and the cobbles that edge my borders.
Today after my usual Monday clean I have cleaned the conservatory windows inside and out, they had got a bit mud splattered with the pressure washer. Sitting with my cuppa now whilst thinking what can be kondoed again .

You and me both. I've just shredded 4 years of tax paperwork, a huge stack of papework from 2006-2011 from my business, some old timesheets from a temp job I had in 2003, still got a pile more to go through. I've filled 2.5 boxes with shreddings so far, the boxes are the size you get 5 reams of A4 paper with. Beginning to run out of boxes......

Today is being devoted to KM.

We had to return an appliance because it was faulty, but - of course - I had already used the box to store dd2's next-sizes-up trousers. So now the trousers are on the bed in the guestroom, and dd1 has found her last year's ones that she suddenly claims to love, but are too small (she claims they still fit, and with ankle boots, they look passable, but without boots, they are clearly too short). Dd2 has found some pairs that she claims to love, even though they are several sizes too large, and has added them to her trouser box in the wardrobe. Mayhem! All my careful sorting work gone! I feel deflated and restless at the same time.

I'm knackered. All I've been doing all day is making decisions about stuff to shred and shredding it. Four boxes are rammed with my shredded efforts. Have managed to free up some space in a cupboard that means 5 lever arch folders which were cluttering up the office floor are in the cupboard. Some drawers have been tidied up, but oh dear, there's a lot of kipple to deal with still.

My nails have been KM'd too. I had loads of paying in book stubbs for the business that needed tearing apart and shredding and the nails got broken. Got rid of 4 years worth. Made me realise how many people used to pay me by cheque - hardly anybody does now. However I get way more bank statements now instead!

I also got rid of payslips from 1994 to 2004 when I was last employed by somebody else. I can't think why I'd need them, but I've kept P60s and P45s 'just in case'. I've checked my NI record online recently and I'm fairly convinced those records are correct and only ever had one work pension scheme and I've got accurate records about that.

This whole exercise can be a bit disheartening at times as a lot of the improvement takes place 'out of sight'. The cupboard is now tidy, but it's not one I look in often, and although the floor no longer has the files on it, tidy is less noticeable than cluttered!

I found some more books to go to the CS, so another bag has been started.

    :T Well done, slinky!

But yes, sometimes kondo-ing results in big conspicious wins, such as large or otherwise prominent things leaving. And sometimes the pace of things is rather slower and the gains aren't obvious to the casual glance.

But you know that you've done it and that you won't have to paw through those things ever again. Give yourself a huge pat on the back.

Been to work and then kondo'd a couple of errands and home for a bite to eat. Plenty of things need doing but I'm feeling rather depleted this past week as have had a low-level cold. Counting my blessings it's not the coldzilla going through my office like a dose of salts, but still a bit wan and looking forward to Easter.

Will set my timer for a ten minute tidy, I think, with something bouncy on the stereo, and aim to make a lot of improvements in a short space of time then knock off for the evening.

:( The car is still out on the carpark but further away from my flat so I can't see so well. Can't see if he's living in it still, don't like to go prying. A few days ago, I happened upon some PSCOs on the street nearby and had a quiet word with them, they said they'd keep an eye out.

Dunno if it's anything to do with this chap or something junkies are doing (a hit of heroin or coke resulting in an immediate need to void the bowels) but we've had several deposits of human feces around here recently. The EH boys come and clean them up when they get reports, but it's still pretty gross. One was cleaned up whilst I was at work today, thank gawd.

:D Have spent some time tidying - we have tabletop again! - and have caught up on my filing. My council rent has gone down a few pence a week and my council tax has gone up about the same amount. What you gain on the snakes, you lose on the roundabouts, as a friend of a friend always used to say when mixing his metaphors.:rotfl:

    Afternoon all
Cleared my ironing basket this morning before work which alWays makes me feel good. That resulted in a load of manky plastic hangers being bagged ready for Friday when I go to tesco as they have a recycling bin for them. Ds1 is away for a week staying with a friend in Essex to do some singing and record a cd (woo moment on his behalf) so I cleared some junk in his room 'twas mostly packaging and wrappers so I'm sure that's allowed. I have been through his wardrobe and left a pile of stuff on his bed that I think is too small for him so he can check it when he returns.
A couple of games, two plastic squirrels, a knitted bird and a bunch of spring flowers from the garden went to school with me today.
A load of shoe boxes will be going with me tomorrow.

I've done a bit of shredding and put more recycling bags out then realised the drive is going to be full for two weeks as there's no collection on good Friday.

    Have a joyful evening all
