We have a Picture of Somebody we Don't Know in a prominent place in our home - he's stood next to my late FIL outside my IL's house. MIL also has a copy up in her lounge. Obviously somebody FIL knew but nobody else in the family does! There aren't many photos of FIL so we have to accommodate this stranger.Make £2025 in 2025

Grey Queen I think you are on to something there
With the photo swapping :rotfl:
I advance you 1 very Brown kitchen in about 1972 with 5 very WI looking ladies making jam. Mum never belonged to the WI as far as I remember.
The problem came with some unknown people smiling into the camera in front of a mountain/Hill. I said to Dad 'Who are these people ? Mmmm I dont know. Why are you keeping this one then ? Because its Striding Edge. Ahh But now does that go into the Mountain Shoe box or the people I dont know box :rotfl:He just looked at me and into 'Mountain/Hill/Climbing/walking box it went
Also a Strange looking unknown looking Man looking very smug holding a Party SevenRemember them ? looking worse for wear (think he had drunk the lot) in Mum and Dads old kitchen so they knew him once. Every photo if Dad doesnt know who it is always says 'It must be something to do with your Mother':rotfl:
Funny really yes we all have these photos and a swap around would be great as it really makes no odds at all does it :rotfl:
Edited as I have been thinking. Its a good idea to refresh ourselves on The 'People we dont know photos' As one day we may see a photo fit police photo and just think it could be of The man in the kitchen clutching a Party 7 not that we would be a lot of use to the police but at least they would know he was in that area sometime in the late 70s !

Ha! Party 7's .....never did understand those. Too young at the time I guess and my teeth being put on edge by odd numbers.....weird I know! I always thought party 4's 6's or even 10's sounded more appealing......whatever these party things were;)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Listening to Michael Ball on Radio 2 earlier. Someone said they had a fish kettle bought in the 80's - moved, taken abroad, brought back & still in the cupboard, never used - I was shouting at the radio KONDO KONDO KONDO!!! (to the tune of 'Tell me when lol)Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I moved twice with a bike rack for the car, for a bike I no longer owned. I sold it before we moved a third time!
Expenses are up to date (well end of Jan), so the fridge clean is looming....... Think I'll have a cup of tea first.Make £2025 in 2025

Love the stories of pics of people you don't know.:p My dad was always taking photos and got them developed as slides. He died in 1975 quick jump to 2002 when I had to clear the house when my mum had to move into a home I went through the slides to find some of me when I was a kid and also my graduation photos. Found loads from weddings they attended. Couldn't even hand them over to the bride or groom as some had passed and many had remarried once or twice so all went to the bin and a friend wanted all the slide cases and screen and projector and even the small viewers etc. :TKondoing even then0

Thank you I have just been crying with laughter over "the people no one knows" photos.

I was rummaging in my elderly neighbour's understairs cupboard yester (with her permission), looking for replacement vacuum bags. To get to the allotted shelf I had to move FOUR dustpans and associated brushes. I suggested she might like to get rid of a couple so they wouldn't be in the way. Oh, no, because 'the yellow one is good for outdoors, the red one someone gave me, the blue on I use regularly (can't say you can tell - Miaow!!), and the grey one is not very good but it might COME IN HANDY'. It is very hard to argue with that kind of logic, isn't it? I found it hard not to just move a couple to a different cupboard and see if she noticed.

Liking all the strange photo descriptions! Excess photos is one thing we really don't suffer from here. I've never been a big picture taker and any we do take are digital and kept digital unless they are for a specific purpose. I have a small album of DD1's photos from her first 2 years, our wedding album and a small album my mum made up of photos from my childhood. I plan to do a photobook soon compiling DD1 and DD2's photos.
DD1 and I managed to do a little more of her room this morning while DD2 was napping on my bed.
-We reduced and reorganised barbie type doll collection.
-Put all her school certificates and similar into a nice box on her shelf instead of scattered all around the house.
- Emptied the top shelf of her wardrobe, compiling the outdoor toys together. Need to find a storage solution for those.
-Moved all of my musical instruments out of there and rehomed them in my own newly emptied wardrobe.
-Removed the old computer tower and bunged in the spare room ready for hard disk wiping when DH gets round to it!
So the top of her wardrobe is now completely clear. Think will try to move onto boxed games and puzzles tonight or tomorrow but not sure of the best way of storing them. They are currently in a tower that gets knocked over every time she takes one from the bottom of the pile!0 -
