I started well but my arm let me down, and after 2 1/2 hours working on the HUGE curtains I couldn't take the pain any longer. So I stopped. I tried to sew other jobs, but each seemed to have its own challenges including the fact that the needle plate on my machine is damaged and started catching on things. At 3ish I gave up and have come home.
Didn't end up with a NSD though! First I bought painkillers, then I brought ham, cheese and rolls ready for lunches for the rest of the week.
No win home I'm really tired.
Not sure whether to go for a sleep or just chill by the Telli for a bit.

I went for a soak in the bath, and took a book to read and switch off.
I'm cooking my dinner and then I will have an early night.
I wanted to start painting DGDs new room, but truth be told it will have to wait. If I knew if my money was sorted I might have offered to pay someone to help. But that's just not possible.

I'm off to bed now. Watched a recorded episode of Long Lost Family. Always makes me cry.
Actually rang my son and reminded him I'm still alive.
My Mum is coming home two weeks tomorrow, so messaged Biggest of Mooloo too.
(That's her MSE name, but she doesn't post, not sure follows, no she can't or on the wobbly weekend when I started to take those paracetamol she would surely have been round.)
I think the curtains may have to wait till Thursday Friday, as my arm is chronically bad. Even typing this is difficult. If I wasn't left handed it would have helped!!!
    Such is life

Mooloo, is there any way you can consider not doing heavy curtains again? Or is it impossible to tell how heavy they are before they have brought them in?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

It's difficult to know, but I will try to calculate them better. The difference in fabrics chosen also makes it difficult. Blackout lining was not originally in the quote, and that is 3 times heavier and much denser than ordinary lining.
I rarely have made curtains requiring 2 1/2 widths of fabric per curtain or ones that are 2 1/2metres long!
    Never again!
My arm will not take it.
I'm not going to touch them today. I will do the other alterations today. My friend has volunteered to come and help me tomorrow evening. So hopefully my arm will be a bit better by then.

For the first time that I can remember I don't want to sew another stitch today!
I am ready to go home.
I have completed all but the big curtains, a skirt that's awaiting the zip, and the jobs in ready for my return.
I feel all sewn out. I'd planned to work late and get things ahead of myself, but I am pooped.
I'm waiting till 1pm and I can close the shop and go home!

Finally spoke to a housing benefit rep to be told they will not even be looking at my case for another 14 days.
So I will not be getting peace of mind before my holiday.
I'm home. I am going for a spray tan at tea time. So lunch and a rest for my arm. The jobs I planned to do at home will have to wait until my arm is better.

Another day, another "dollar", three days ahead of me to get the final jobs done. Had a terrible night, my arm is not good dispite the fact I didn't work as much or on as heavy items.
I've a skirt still waiting for a zip, hopefully it will arrive today and the dreaded curtains to do tonight when I can get some help.
I had my first ever spray tan last evening, and I'm just about to shower it all off and see what colour I end up! The idea is not to look like a milk bottle when we arrive. My friend is already suntanned!
The dentist haven't got my appointment sorted out, so I am still struggling with the denture plate thingy, and it has made the next tooth very loose, so i fear I may loose it while away! I can't eat with the thing in and despite several return visits where the dentist has trimmed edges there is still an uncomfortable bit on one side. So I'm not sure I will be smiling in any photos!
Spoke to my Mum and Brother on Skype again last night. She's back with him now until she comes home. Two weeks time.
We have agreed to share the cost of a taxi to get me there and anywhere we plan to go, once a month now I don't have a car. I'm also going to borrow her shopping trolley, so I don't struggle with the shopping in the future.
Time to get up and get that shower.

I have been doing the accounts and a few fittings today. No sewing.
I've confused myself completely as the accounts package I use is now telling me that I made a loss of £4,000 odd last year!
I cannot for the life of me see why it's changed and how it has.
    I am so befuddled now.
When I did the accounts and printed off the p & l sheet it originally showed £3,088 profit.
It has got to be there somewhere. But I cannot see it.
The only thing I did was to change a group of items from Stock to general purchases. So it's got to be tied up in that but I can't see for the life of me how.
I've turned down a lot of work that has come through the door or calls about work, as it's required for next week.
    Can't be helped.
My zip has arrived for the skirt finally. So I will do that first thing tomorrow.
I don't know how I'm going to stay awake to measure and pin etc on the curtains tonight.

Time for a cup of tea. Everything always seems better after a cup of tea.

By moving items from stock to general purchases you have reduced your profit for the year as you have added extra expenditure to your P&L.
