    I hate being cold.

It wasn't too cold last night, thank goodness.

I received my peanut butter win yesterday - all 24 jars of it. Not really sure what to do with it at the moment. I've put it on Gumtree and had one guy email me this morning. He asked what my best price was for the lot and I said £25 (each jar is around £2.40 in Tesco). He wasn't interested at that price, so guess he wanted it for next to nothing. I'd rather give it to a food bank than be conned by a chancer probably wanting to sell it on again. It doesn't expire until August, so plenty of time to try and sell it if I can.

Also won a mug and can of soup - that will get used!!

We're going to see OH's parents tomorrow - enough said!!

    Hi everyone

I'm trying to drag myself out of my rut. I really think it's the time of year. Horrible weather - wish I were in Australia watching the tennis ;).

I managed to sell the peanut butter for £20. Bit less than I wanted, but the guy was lovely and polite, which is a rarity for Gumtree these days!! Better than nothing and I've put that £20 in my Christmas savings (£50 saved already :)).

I've also made the second payment off the CCJ. Paid the pesky 3p too (go me!!).

Managed to lower our broadband/phone bill by quite a bit last week. Didn't realise we were being charged for BT Sport, so have cancelled that and got some other discounts too. Will save us around £25 a month.

Banked a cheque for £17.50 today from online MS work. I've also got £26 worth of jobs to complete. Will try and get them done by the end of the week in hope of getting some more allocated.

We're making good use of our Cineworld card. We've seen The Danish Girl (thought it was good) and The 5th Wave (also quite good, better than I expected). We're seeing Dirty Grandpa tonight and will book for another on Sunday tonight.

Still nothing from PIP. I'll be celebrating my 40th birthday before they get back to me .

    Hello Emz,

Sorry to hear you're feeling low, there's so much of that around.

I did smile at your years supply of peanut butter with a use by date of 8 months! :D It's nice you got the £20 for them.

I hope this milder weather is being kind to you and work is warming up a little. We'll soon be over January, and I definitely can't wait to see the back of it!

    Take care,

    MTx
  • Sorry to hear you're feeling down, Emz. No wonder really with the PIP decision still in limbo:(. I doubt seeing OH's parents did much to lift your spirits either;)

Are you working tomorrow or will you get a chance to watch the tennis live? I'd give anything to actually see the Ferrer-Murray match but not having Sky or whatever else it's likely to be on I'll have to resort to Radio 5 Live Sport again:(. Better than nothing though;)

Well done on the debt-busting and the peanut butter sale:T

    Take care of yourself

    Hi CBC :)

I'm not working until 4pm tomorrow, but the Murray/Ferrer match is on at 3.30am :(. Might get to see a set or two when I wake up though.

Thanks for that news, Emz:T, I didn't know what time it was scheduled for apart from the fact that there are 2 women's singles on first.

They do a highlights programme the next afternoon on BBC2 from 2 until 3. It's not the same when you already know the result though. I'd have thought with Andy playing there would be more coverage on Freeview:(
  • What is a CCJ? I thought i'd ask here.
If my post doesn't appear to be serious, then it is not serious. So what? Kick back, relax enjoy life and have a little fun. Life is far far too short to be grumpy!!!!

    Morning CBC

Sorry that Ferrer lost. I woke up around 5am and thought I might as well sit and watch it, so I saw the majority of the last 3 sets. He played very well, but just tired out towards the end.

I know BBC show the final of the Australian Open, but don't think they have the rights for the rest of it. The networks seem to share them out (Eurosport Australian, ITV French, BBC Wimbledon and Sky US Open).

    Hi

I've taken this straight from Google, as it explains it better than I could:

A County Court Judgment (CCJ) is a type of court order in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that may be registered against you if you fail to repay money you owe. It sets out how much is owed, how the money should be repaid and the payment deadline.
