So something amazing happened today.
I went to my local train station to get to football. I asked for a return ticket to my destination, and the ticket man looked at his colleague and said 'shall i be nice?' and picked up two tickets next to him, and gave them to me. It was a return ticket to the station i needed to get to, what had happened was someone had bought them, then somehow left them behind. so they gave them to me. for free.
I can't tell you how happy it made me.
i am going to take them chocolates tomorrow to say thank you, chocolates that are already in the house, so tomorrow will be a NSD.

Wombling Free Cash May2016 £510 -
Well, we officially have the best neighbours ever.
Mr NDN arrived with biscuits for the dogs, literally as he parked the car (he'd missed them apparently), then insisted that I pick more raspberries, as the canes were all laden with ripe fruit again. It was starting to get dark by the time I got over to their garden, so only managed a kilo today...£1.50 being claimed. I tried to give him some money, but he wouldn't take any, so I'll bottle him up some of the raspberry vodka liqueur that I've started off for the festive season.
I've been forgetting the eggs from my womble claims, but as I got a full house today (8), I will claim 80p.
NIce wombling a train ticket Florence and how lovely to take him choccies!0 -
oh wow Florence that is such a kind gesture and made you both feel good.
I won £10 in the euro football thing at work - I won "least amount of goals scored". I'd paid £5 to enter so £5 added to the total.
Found 2p on the ground at work.
Have a great day everyone. xxx0 -
I recently wrote a letter of complaint to Sainsbury's and also a letter of thanks to Muller for their great yogurts.
Today in the post I got a £1 voucher from Muller, and a £5 gift card from Sainsbury's as a gesture of goodwill.
deducting the cost of stamps and envelopes/thank you cards and I have wombled £4.42. Woooo
I'm going to wait until there's an offer on Muller greek yogurts (they usually sell them for £1 or so) and I'm going to try and save the gift card for christmas.

I pocketed an abandoned reciept from the trolley I wanted, have just fed it through the asda price checker & got a £4.11 voucher - which is very nearly an entire pair of school trousers!
What with my own receipts totalling £6.49 back, that is son#1 trousered and a bit in the Christmas fund!
Spent money on Christmas presents, but bought in sale so saved £20 *and* the assistant was generous with packaging (which I now find sells on ebay! Paper (handled) shopping bags with fancy names on... We do live in an odd world).0 -
