By default DMA is not enabled on the older Win9x/Me systems. Try enabling DMA for your cdrom drive to see if this helps. If not then just simply untick it again.

See here and/or here for info on enabling DMA in WinME for CDROM drives.

DMA has to be supported by your motherboard and cdrom drive and is automatically enabled for the harddrive provided your motherboard supports DMA but it is not automatically enabled by default for CDROM drives.

After enabling DMA for your CDROM drive then reset your computer for changes to take effect. It may ask for WinME disc but not sure as can't remember much about the WinME days!

It does use a SCSI driver for creating any virtual drives. It's called "A347SCSI SCSI Controller", the driver itself is "a347scsi.sys".

No, i think you need to format.

I'd try to download some IDE drivers for your chipset. You should not have any SCSI devices if you have no SCSI hardware. I know some progs like Alcohol 120% create a virtual device (a scsi one i think)

    hmmmmmm.

:( I'm totally out of my depth :p

    Deselected/reselected...

    Made no difference

Although i managed to burn a CD, only for it not to close the session

It seems the only problem I have is with blank discs, all the others work fine.....maybe it's the discs? But they are TDK and worked before :(

    :/

Do you know what chipset you are running? If not do you know the make/model of the motherboard in your p.c?

Sorry, not a clue on either :(

I might buy a single CD-R and CD-RW disc and try them out, to se if it's the discs.
