CD Rom Drive Problems

Argh! I'm trying to get some of my pictures off my hard-drive onto a CD. It reads the items from my hard drive, copies them, but gets stuck on 'preparing to write track' My CD Rom drive is temperamental, it's been replaced twice but it will only read some CD's not others strangely and it often gets stuck and I have to…
