Happy birthday Pinksteps! Have a fab day. :)
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

  • Thank you for the birthday wishes. Well the day started off with a trip to my 83 year old mum because she managed to lose her mobile somewhere (it was in the downstairs loo), fix her tv (there had been a power cut and she had to switch it on manually) and finally get her iPad working (she had used the months data). Then home, so I managed to get all the washing done, clean the kitchen floor, clean the bathroom and then spend the whole afternoon cleaning the oven. Then apart for a few dramatic phone calls from middle DS I managed to sail through the day. I'm guessing birthdays are overrated at my age. But I was pleased to see you ladies (and a couple of you on my FB) took time out to wish me happy birthday, it really does mean a lot especially as I have quite a bit of carp going on behind the scenes. Thank you xx

pinksteps, sorry, happy belated birthday wishes. not been on for a few days, and missed it.
Have been in the garden when weather permitted, and housecleaning when it didn't.
Getting all excited about going to china, only 3and-a-bit weeks to go. This week will be taken up with getting all the things on DDILs take out to china list, ooooooooooo .
One of my neighbours called in last night to show me her outfit (they were off for a birthday meal) in her £15 principles shoes and her £5 M&S sale dress. Bargains, her dinner will have cost more than that!
Off to get the suitcase out of storage and dust off the cobwebs etc. then a bit of planting before Skype.

Belated happy birthday PINKSTEPS - sorry I missed it, I always choose the wrong times not to pop on.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:MURIE. TV all up and running and I must admit it's nice not to have the dark shadow down the middle of the pic!

MRSINVISIBLE that's come round really quickly (well for me anyway) but how exciting. I think I'd be in a right tizzy about the packing by now, probably making lots of lists lol.

FREESPIRIT hope you're ok - thinking of you.

FEISTY you're very quiet, hope it's just because your life is so full and that you're all ok.

I was going through forthcoming birthdays and realised I didn't even finish my Christmas and birthday spreadsheet from last year. I've brought it up to date now except for a couple where I can't for the life of me remember what I bought for people!
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Thanks for advice on stencil, realise I am a tad early, so exploring options available for next 6 months.

I am so tired I can barely think or move. Was involved in a Chinese night last night, as I help manage the hall it was held, I was there from 11:30, having spent 4 hrs housework, washing, ironing etc before hand. Loads of food but only ate a couple of samosas as one of the main courses was spare ribs, as I am allergic to pork, I couldn't risk cross contamination. Left there 12 hrs later, so tired, with last of cleaning to be done today. Unfortunately, there were 2 more events I needed to help cater for this morning, one we had no control over the date or time, the other got moved from last week. Really bad planning, so was in there again at 8, finally got home at 4, so sitting with feet up, going to make a coffee in a minute. I have no problem helping, but it is a bit of a pain when the organisers bu---r off , leaving all of the cleaning to 2 of us:mad:

Pink, seriously impressed your mum is so technology savvy! Taught my mum how to text, imagine how I felt when she asked why someone had replied instead of her sister, "did you select her?, was I supposed to.?" Luckily I knew who replied as mum had typed I can vex, instead of text! Reply? "That's nice!!!!"
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Mrs I- woohoo, getting exciting now as your trip is so close! Has your DDDIL given you a very long shopping list? Don't forget to leave room for your clothes x

Pinksteps- sorry you had a non- birthday x

GTQ- some people take the mickey don't they? You've had a busy weekend - you deserve the rest x

Peppa- lets hope there's some decent programming on for you to watch on your shiny new telly! How's your HDD and HDGS doing? I have presents that I forget who I have brought them for too. Good luck for this week (am I right in thinking its the second chemo? )xxx

Wow GTQ you definitely put me to shame with all you do. Blooming cheek of the organisers not to pitch in with the clearing up though, presumably they think the pittance that most halls charge includes such services!

MURIE thanks, yep number two tomorrow, fingers crossed for minimal side effects lol.

PINKSTEPS I second that about your mum. Mine is a similar age and can use her mobile phone but only to call and only if she types the number in every time from her handwritten note book - the phone book in the phone is a definite no go. She periodically turns it off by mistake too so we have to go round to check she's ok.
